HA! You really think a video game movie is going to attract that kind of caliber?

Set the bar lower. Much lower.

These are just my favorites for who to play as.

As you know, the script by Mark Protosevich based on the first mass effect game is finished, reported last month on July 24th.
http://www.g4tv.com/...ss-effect-game/

Now I've been thinking about this for some time, on who I think should lead. In order for this project to be successful, I call upon Christopher Nolan to direct and JJ Abrams to produce.

Christopher Nolans marketing talent and storytelling grandeur has been proved time and time again with Batman, Inception, and Momento. By mixing his style from previous films whilst mixing the pot with this and sci-fi elements.

JJ Abrams as producer because of the intimidatingly stylish Bad Robot Productions, from films such as Star Trek and Cloverfield (the first film to actually make me scream out loud, like a schoolgirl, in the theater), while extracting his visual expertise from star trek with the help of Industrial Light and Magic Studios.

Cast should be easy:

Ellen Page as Ashley Williams

Karl Urban as Kaidan Alenko

Idris Elba as David Anderson

Seth Green as Joker (Robert Downey Jr. if he backs out)

All voice actors to reprise roles in CGI Motion Capture

I'm not deciding yet who I think should play Shepard. That is up to all of you.

What do you guys think? :)

I would hate to see a Mass effect movie, there's just far too many ways to butcher it...

Also, I hated all of your casting choices, excluding Seth Green as joker.

Ellen Page as Ashley? Are you insane? Tell me you're joking, that little shrimp of a girl playing a hard as nails woman like Ashley? Not to mention the size difference... And mentioning that ashley is hispanic or biracial would probably just make her an even worse choice than she already is...

Karl Urban...eh, I can't see him as Kaiden, Urban always looks so angry and serious, whereas Kaiden just seems like a really down to earth guy and has a maturity that Urban himself definitely lacks(from what I've seen of him).

Idris Elba looks nothing like Anderson, he's an awesome actor, but he's just too young and big to play Anderson.

At Robert Downey Jr as Joker, he has the attitude down pat, but he doesn't look the part at all, Joker has a slightly nerdy overtone as well, Seth Green is fine as him.

And just let me say again, no Ellen Page.

Ever.

I had a back up Kaidan choice: Mark Ruffalo

I could agree to that, he doesn't look much like him though, unfortunately.

Dunno if he could juggle 2 franchises, he's already doing the Avengers.

Eh yeah maybe but still.

My third wild-card back-up would be Patrick Wilson.

Brilliant for Kaiden. I love Karl Urban, he's one of my favourite actors of all time. (He could also pull of Shepard, IMO)

Miranda: Yvonne Stahovski (duh)

Dr Chakwas: So would love to see Helen Mirren.

Admiral Hacket: Lance henrickson (another duh)

Zaeed: PH Moriarty (from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Frank Herbert's Dune)

FemShep: This is going to cause some eye-rolling, but I'd say Milla Jovovich

Broshep: Chris Hemsworth

TIM: Martin Sheen (duh)

EDI: Tricia Helfer (again...)

Liara: Carrie Mulligan

Tali: Ellen Page

Conrad Verner: Bradley Cooper or Nathan Fillion (obviously cameo, but it'd be hysterical!)

James Vega: UFC fighters Chael Sonnen or Frank Mir.

Anderson: Keith David (if it ain't broke...)

Samara: Sigourney Weaver

Of course there's more, but i'm tired and can't think of any.

I like most of your choices, Helen MIrren in particular, but no to Ellen Page as Tali, HELL NO.

lol Nathan FIllion as Conrad Verner, that'd be hilarious in a really weird way.

No to Hemsworth as MaleShep, or Mulligan as Liara, I like Mulligan, but I don't find that she has Liara's sciency, humorless character in her, hell maybe she does, IDK.

Love Sigourney Weaver as Samara tho.

I personally think it should star Nicholas Cage, with Keanu Reaves, Kristen Stewart, Steven Seagal and Megan Fox as supporting. Uwe Boll and M. Night Shyamalan can be the directing duo.

Why all the hate for a movie? Sure, you won't have all the variation, but it doesn't have to be canon. Just call it the film's version of events. If and when they makes this I'll be going to it opening weekend. Why? because I love mass effect and would love to see it on the big screen. Get all the aliens voiced by the VAs, have Femshep be the lead to differentiate from other sci-fi epics, You can introduce characters like Wrex and Tali in shortened versions of their missions, gloss over Liara's recruitment mission (have the alliance bring her onboard the normandy since she's the leading prothean expert, her mission wasn't that major to the story other than to add her), do a shortened version of feros, do Noveria in full, do virmire in full, do illos shortened, and do the citadel. I can definitely see that being done in 2.5 hours.

Exactly what I said earlier. A sci-fi epic that interprets for movie-goers entertainment.
