Simone Kessell as Ashley Williams
she looks familiar...
She was on Terra Nova. If you ever tuned in, she played Lt. Washington. It was a bad series that only lasted one season, but she was decent in it.

I'm sorry guys but we're talking about a movie adaption from a video game here, there'd have to be alot of work for a budget. And I really don't see any A list or even B list actors wanting to sign on.
I'm afraid I have no idea who to cast as broshep in that event.
Edit: How silly of me. Ryan Kwanten.

I've already done the math on this. Its pretty much imposisble to make Mass Effect a movie.
Why? The sould of Mass Effect is the choices you make and the characters that appear and speak with you.
In Mass Effect 1, You're going to alienate part of your audience on the Virmire Survival, let alone the LI or any other choice in the game. A movie also canonizes events from the game, something that should never happen in an RPG, at all.
Moving on to Mass Effect 2, You're never going to get the characters properly written. At all. Its impossible.
Lets say we have a two hour film for Mass Effect 2. We'll set aside 30 mins for the Lazerus Project and Suicide Mission. That leaves us an hour and 30 mins or 90 mins to introduce and characterize 15 characters. Doing the math, we have 7.5 mins to do so. Obviously, that's not enough time at all.
So, Hey, Two part movies are popular now days, right? Lets bump ME2 up to being a four hour movie. We have 4 hours (240 mins) instead of 2 hours (120 mins). We'll subtract 45 mins for the Suicide Mission and Project Lazerus. Doing the math for our 15 characters, we end up with about 16 mins to introduce and develop each of them. Its not possible to do what needs to be done in 16 mins.
On top of that, You have the issues of choice, once again. You're going to alienate people on their choices and LI and ete.
Moving on to Mass Effect 3, You run into the issues of ME3's plot. Following the game to a T is not a good idea because of the mess the plot actually is and you're going to reopen old wounds with the endings, espicially if they go with Synthesis or something.
But, on the other hand, writing a new version of the ME3 plot could be....worse.
Over all, Its just simply a bad idea in all ways.
While you're correct in your evaluation of what the film's choices would do to alienate certain Mass Effect fans, you're not particulary accounting for the much, much (can't emphasize this enough) bigger movie audience that a potential film would target.
Moviegoers that haven't played the games are not going to care because the film would be their initial experience of the Mass Effect universe. They would be choosing to enjoy it as a movie and not a choice-driven game where outcomes differ from one player to another.
You only have to look at the actual size of the ME fanbase to realize how little of an impact (no matter how passionate) would have on the film's success. To date, Mass Effect 3 has sold roughly 2.4 million copies. And even if every single one of those consumers purchased a ticket for the ME movie, it would still account for a small percentage of what would be an expected box office gross for a high-budget sci-fi actioner.
When it comes to writing each installment, there's no reason for it follow each game mission by mission with every single character included. There's simply not enough time to do so. I would be fully prepared for some characters -- the ones that we as fans of the game series love -- to be cut entirely in order to create a tighter film narrative. Mass Effect 2 would most likely see the biggest hit considering the squad size.
Films, just like the Mass Effect games, are made to make money and to enterain. If Legendary Pictures thinks the Mass Effect property can do just that, and if BioWare feels their creation's core elements and themes will stay intact, I see no reason for it not to happen.
Shepard's choices in the film do not have to be seen as the canon choices to fans of the games. It's just another interpretation of Shepard's journey. I have fears just like anyone else does considering the past history of video game adaptations. But any ME fan that says they don't want to see Shepard and co. kicking Reaper *** on the big screen is someone that I don't believe is being totally honest with themselves. It would still be Mass Effect, not a completely different property just because narrative choice is being taken away.
The film's success would do nothing but good for the franchise, meaning more games and more ME all around.
This is pretty much how I feel.... There is no need to take this movie as canon, just think of it as another playthrough while the actor that was cast is a modified face and cut content as missions skipped or missed....I would love to see a successful mass effect movie franchise....

I agree. Michael Bay as director would be horrible.
Why must I keep repeating myself? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Only Uwe Boll can bring the Mass Effect movie to life.

Erica Cerra would be a better Ashley Williams( the game model is made after her and she plays a sci fi cop on Eureka)
James Caviezel for Shepard. In the movie Outlander he wears Mass Effectesque armor. He has the Look and skill as an actor)
Any source on that Cerra/Ashley's model info?
But, yeah, I agree with your choices.

Have you checked out the VA credits? If I said Marina Sirtis for Benezia, it would be fitting, since she voiced the character in the first place. After all, unless they get Uwe Boll to do it, it could come out ok, maybe even better than ok.essarr71 wrote...
HA! You really think a video game movie is going to attract that kind of caliber?
Set the bar lower. Much lower.
The only downside, and it's really not much of one, is that there would have to be a canon Shepard, and not just gender. The gender part wouldn't bother me as much as actions taken throughout the game. This would all be trivialities though, as far as I'm concerned, if it looks good in the trailers, I'd get it.

The script has been finished for a long time, the movie is dead in the water.
If there is a god, I hope it stays that way.
Sorry, but after Deception and ME3, I have absolutely no faith in Bioware or any of their associates to make a competent ME film.

Here's the cast, the VA's. Why? Because this movie would probably be best as a CGI one anyway so why not?
This
The Cinematic Trailer for ME2 was bliss, I want that. With all the original VAs it would be glorious.

Characters like Garrus, Liara, Tali etc would be easy. Just stick Brandon Keener in a Garrus costume.
