Kaiden: Mark Ruffalo (if he can do good as the Hulk...)
Miranda: Yvonne Stahovski (duh)
Dr Chakwas: So would love to see Helen Mirren (who wouldn't?)
Admiral Hacket: Lance henrickson (another duh)
Zaeed: PH Moriarty (from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and he's got the accent already!)
TIM: Martin Sheen (duh)
EDI: Tricia Helfer (again...)
Liara: Summer Glau (maybe a bit of a waste with this character, but it'd amuse the crap out of me because she can still kill you with her brain!)
Tali: Ellen Page (Sorry everyone, I thingk she's be good at it!)
Conrad Verner: Bradley Cooper or Nathan Fillion (obviously cameo, but it'd be hysterical!)
James Vega: UFC fighter Frank Mir (he's got the build, and he's a great talker)
Anderson: Keith David (if it ain't broke...)
Samara: Sigourney Weaver (yeah, no-brainer)
Jack: Milla Jovovich (maybe a bit of type-casting, but she's do damn good!)
Ashley: Erica Serra/Jennifer Garner (Erica because she basically IS Ashley, Jennifer because she'd add a really sense of depth)
Garrus: Viggo Mortenson (Yeah, please!)
Kelly: Carrie Mulligan (Changed her from Lirara... she'd be better at this)
Wrex: Ron Perlman/Kevin Grevioux (Ron because he IS this, and Kevin because, well... watch Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and tell me he's not Wrex)
Udina: Armand Assante (Such a slimeball)
Daniels: Simon Pegg (Who wouldn't have a geek-gasm at this?)
Gabby: Kristen Bell (C'mon....)
Grunt:
For the two biggies:
FemShep: Ali Larter/Katee SackhoffSienna Guillory (I don't feel that any of these choices need any explanation)
Broshep: Timothy Olyphant/Karl Urban/Chris Evans/Sam Worthington (Timothy has the look, Karl could certainly get the snark and action, Chris has the gravitas, and Sam, well... he's Sam F'n Worthington)
I know, not realistic, maybe some weak/weird/bad choices, but this is who I can picutre.

Cool. But do you guys actually think these actors would want to take part in some nerdy sci fi film based on a game? NO. If there will be a film, they will surely hire some unknown actors.
These aren't the actors that I think are going to join, these are just my favorites for each character.

Blade Runner is on SyFy today, if you love sci fi and have never seen this movie watch it. Ridley Scott directed science fiction is amazing. The only alternative director is James Cameron of course.
Love blade runner so much, a friend of mine hates it, much to my chagrin
That's a shame. It's a thinking man's sci fi, most of it's themes are too deep for the average movie goer. Harrison Ford was perfect in that movie.
Actually, I must admit I was being a little disingenuous, he just found it boring

Ashley: Lynn Collins
Liara: Blake Lively
Garrus: Someone in a suit with the VO from the game
Tali: Someone in a suit with the VO from the game
Wrex: Someone in a suit with the VO from the game
Kaiden: Ron Livingston
Shepard: Jim Caviezel
I don't think people should expect actors of a higher caliber than these actors. Don't worry about characters from Mass Effect 2 and 3. The budget will be adjusted according to the succes of 1. There might even only be just the one movie.

No offence, but what are you talking about?
Quite a few game to movie adaptations have had high profile actors involved and most of those have come from studios with far less reputation than Legendary.
Prince of Persia, Max Payne, Spirits Within, Tomb Raider...
And none of those had the prestige as video games that Mass Effect has already engendered considering the voice cast it's ensembled.

Judging by some of the casting lineups people are proposing any Mass Effect movie will require a 200 million dollar budget. Keep dreamin' folks. You might get one or two knowns and the rest will be newbies. In all likelihood, this will end up being a Scify original production...something profound like Tornado Apocalypse.
200 million dollar budget where 190 million of those dollars goes to actor salaries

That's kind of why I think a Mass Effect movie could work, and Legendary Pictures has a good reputation, like half of their movies are some of my favorites.Myrmedus wrote...

Plus if they do changes (like all video game adaptions have) it could actually be for the better. Since Mass Effect has so many inconsistancies that need to be fixed and plot holes.
As long as they have a good director I really like and respect I'm ok with the idea (Ridley Scott, Danny Boyle, or..... *gasp* Christopher Nolan
Oh and of course Guy Pearce and Shepard.
That has to happen.

Michelle Rodriguez as Ashley Williams

Mark Ruffalo as Kaiden Alenko

Laurence Fishburn as David Anderson

Ian Mckellan as Admiral Hackett

Armand Assante as Donnel Undina

Other than Seth Green as Joker, everybody else could be played by less known actors while the Alien squadmates would be played by their in-game actors.

Zachary Quinto as Garrus
Rooney Mara as Tali
Laurence Fishburne as Admiral Anderson
Hugo Weaving as Saren
Seth Green as Joker (of course)
Danny Boyle or Ridley Scott Directing
That's a dream come true.
