Don't forget about:

hunters firing at you while stasis-ed.

banshee's warp and atlas's rockets being able to literally do 180 degree turns if you SS behind them

rocket troopers firing of volleys of up to 4 rockets in the time span of one second

pyros having double the range of the actual animation for the flamethrower

phantoms doing her negate all damage attack, but still firing from her palm cannon at the same time

being sync-killed half way through a biotic charge


I'm sure i could keep going, which is the sad part.

Having control of your character taken away from you indefinitely just because a hunter looked at you. Yep, that seems like a fair challenge. <_<

Both of these have happened to me so many bloody times on my own host. I can't count how many times i was trying to finish off a phantom or something with a charge, only to be grabbed out of the charge and synced. And don't get me started on her magnet hands..

Being harsh is not stating facts. You are confusing natural environment with a game whose mechanics are decided by a software company (so they can be modified at will). Probably you (and all those who misunderstand Darwinism) should read an interesting book "The Waning of Humaneness" by Konrad Lorenz  about the differences between the biological meaning of natural selection and its application to human society that have been wrong (indeed society opposes itself to natural processes!)

The magnet hands issue is not lag, well not really The problem is that the Banshee's radius for sync-kills is a full 360 degrees around them. If are behind them, you are able to picked up. This combined with their slow movement means that you can run past them from behind and they can start turning around to pick you up. Then despite the fact that you are 20 feet away you will be dragged back because the Banshee happened to decide to grab you. Bad connections only make it worse by increasing the delay between "being picked up" and actually being picked up.

Magnet Hands from the front is a bit wonky. I know it can't just be lag since that happened to me multiple times even in the campaign. Lag certainly makes it worse, but this seems to be a glitch rather than just simply bad connections.

Husks jumping on you when your melee/power animation (which would've killed/staggered them) started first.

Um, besides Banshee warp and the rockets, enemy attacks don't curve around corners. That's just lag. You were hit when you out of cover but it didn't register on your end until you were in cover. It sucks but thats not cheap tactics or a glitch, it's just your crappy connection.

Only a small handful of the overall powers available to players can be banked around corners and most of those are biotic powers.

While I do think that the enemies should be challenging (but not hopelessly stupid, in the case of things like the Banshee Magnet Hands), if we can't make a rocket curve around a corner, why should our enemies have that?

Also, I do totally agree that Hunters and Rocket Troopers being able to still shoot you while staggered is total BS. I remember getting killed a couple times by Get Hunters because they'd still shiper-shot me with those shotguns even when literally flying/ragdolling off the map.

I agree with almost all of these, but after an experience yesterday I think there's another that needs to be added:

Banshees sync-killing a cloaked target.

To clarify, I'd been cloaked already for 4-5 seconds of a duration specced cloak (~11 seconds max), constantly on the move. Banshee charged in next to me and immediately - as I was still running full pelt - grabbed me. 4-5 secs after being killed, my dead body uncloaked.

I get BW's argument that enemies will fire at the last known location, etc, but I cloaked even before the banshee saw me, and was constantly moving. Pretty sure that's not right!

You ran out of luck, this must have happened right when AI got its "refresh all players locations cheat", which is of course a needed cheat for the AI or it would be ridicoulously easy to beat

Not too long ago, Derek Hollan, one of the game devs posted in a thread explaining some mechanics, notably the stealth and enemy detection mechanics.

Most enemies can hear cloaked characters at a distance of 3m to 5m. If you're moving, as you said you were, the chance for them to hear you increases because while you're (mostly) invisble, your steps are in no way silenced.

So basically, that Banshee probably heard you.

He also stated that Enemies also have the ability to "cheat"; to "peek behind the curtain" to see where players are on the map. He said they use this generally when there's only one or two players left alive, but I personally think it happens on a fairly regular basis throughout the entire match.

It's the exact opposite of a "needed cheat" because typically, the enemies outnumber you. Even on large maps, there's only ever gonna be a limited space in which four characters can evade a force consisting of superior numbers. 

Hell, in the case of enemies like ambushing Marauders, they can afford to sit back and wait for the players to stumble into their crosshairs.

Let's not forget, that despite all the sounds of boots running and guns firing and explosions and Banshee shrieks, the enemy can hear you perfectly at a distance of 3 to 5 m. While Cerberus monkeyboys are yelling about "Taking casualties!" and "Friendly down!" they can perfectly hear you taking one step up to 5 meters away. The enemies can hear you over the constant noise they, themselves are making.

Location updating is not a necessary cheat in any shape or fashion.

Maybe they are seeker missiles/weapons.
And atlas probably can hit you even in cover because elevated enemies still can hit you (atlas' height alone is enough to be considered elevated, I guess).
Other things like rocket trooper's space magics are stupid though.

Lately I've seen rocket troopers with the hilarious ability to fire rockets through walls too. I don't even know there's an enemy on the other side of the wall and then a rocket comes flying at me through the wall.

inb4 lag excuse: it happens when hosting too.

Players are customers and customers want to enjoy their purchase as advertised and being offered by the product developer as is, just wondering if EA/Bioware still remembers. Anyway, a few things ****** me off:
Geth Hunter stunlocks.
Rocket troopers machine gun rockets.
Pyro's 25 meter range flame thrower.
Enemies predictability of S.Strike.
Enemies see you through cloak even from a considerable distance.

most of the ones on this "list" are related to lag, only the Geth can do all that on a zero lag match.

Conclusion:

Geth are the only broken enemy faction.


Suggestion:

Try to test your latency before starting the match, the easiest way is to vote kick someone in the lobby, if you notice a delay, get the **** away of that Host.

Certainly didn't stutter that's for sure. And no one (myself included) was teleporting or floating. I know when i've got lag because there are so many tell-tale signs. But those just weren't present.

I've been hit by the GRT's rockets despite dropping to cover just as he fires. So it seems that the GRT can also bend rockets over cover.

Quite annoying on Gold when you see him fire, drop to cover before his rocket has travelled half way and still get your shields and health shredded.

And it's not lag because it happens when I'm hosting.
