Eh, I've got a few names I've used since I started playing but I've been using shorthand versions since I got tired of typing them out fully every time I promote. The names kind of reflect their reference to the class and/or race. List will have the character, name, and a brief reason for the name.

Human Male Adept- Myr (Short for Myrddin. For those not familiar in lore, it's Myrddin Emyrs, aka Merlin.)

Human Female Adept - Mor (Short for Morrigan. Was reference to DA:O or Morgana Le Fey, couldn't decide which.)

Asari Adept- Viernna (An elder sister of Drizzt Do'Urden, a dark elf, from Forgotten Realms)

Drell Adept - Drizzt (Drell are slightly subserviant to the hanar, male dark elves are subserviant tot the females, sort of...)

Justicar - Lolth (Patron goddess to the dark elves in the Forgotten Realms.)

Pheonix Adept - Duncan (Think Highlanders Duncan MacLeod.)

N7 Fury- Po (Short for Poltergeist. Couldn't think of anything else really....)

Human Male Soldier - N1 (Short for Noble One, Carter, in reference to Halo: Reach)

Human Female Soldier - N2 (Short for Noble Two, Kat, in reference to Halo: Reach)

Krogan Soldier - N5 (Short for Noble Five, Jorge, in reference to Halo: Reach)

Turian Soldier - N6 (Short for Noble Six, in reference to Halo: Reach. This is my second 'hyper lethal vector' for the soldier class, so to speak.)

Batarian Soldier - N3 (Short for Noble Three, Jun,  in reference to Halo: Reach)

Vorcha Soldier - N4 (Short for Noble Four, Emile, in reference to Halo: Reach)

N7 Destroyer - John (Short for Spartan John-117 in reference to Halo's main Character.)

Human Male Engineer- Tesla (In reference to Nikola Tesla.)

Human Female Engineer- Cor (In reference to Cortana from the Halo franchise.)

Quarian Female Engineer- Tali (Couldn't/ haven't been able to think of a different female engineer reference that fits.)

Geth Engineer- sEc8 (Short for sEcTiOn8, which is reference to a Section 8 designation for a military psych profile, meaning mentaly unstable, if I remember correctly.)

Quarian Male Engineer- Ein (Short for Einstein, in reference to Albert Einstein, as well as the Corgy from Cowboy Be-Bop.)

N7 Demolisheer- Q (Reference to Jame's Bond tech supplier/engineer.)

Human Male Sentinel- Odin (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

Human Female Sentinel- Sif (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

Turian Sentinel- Vrtra (In reference to the Hindu Deity.)

Krogan Sentinel- Slepnir (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

Batarian Sentinel- Volstagg (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

Vorcha Sentinel- Thor (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

N7 Paladin- Baldur (In reference to the Norse Deity.)

Human Male Infilitrator- Bya (Short for Byakko, Guardian White Tiger of the West, in Japanese Mythology.)

Human Female Infiitrator- Suz (Short for Suzaku, Guardian Pheonix of the South, in Japanese Mythology.)

Salarian Infiltrator- Sei (Short for Seiryu, Guardian Water Dragon of the East, in Japanese Mythology.)

Quarian Female Infiltrator- Gen (Short for Guardian Tortise of the North, in Japanese Mythology.)

Geth Infilitrator- 000110001110 (Four bit binary numerical reference of 187, which is police code for Murder if I remember correctly.)

Quarian Male Infilitrator- Ezio (In reference to Ezio Auditore from the Assassin's Creed 2 series.)

N7 Shadow - Widow (Short hand for Black Widow, in reference to the DC Character, as well as the spider.)

Human Male Vanguard- Nagi (Short for Izanagi, the primary male deity in the Shinto relgion.)

Human Female Vanguard- Nami (Short for Izanami, the primary female deity in the Shinto religion.)

Drell Vanguard- Qilin (In reference to the Chinese mythical creature. Is also referenced as a guardian of the void, so rather fitting for a character I never use...)

Asari Vanguard- Joan (In reference to Joan of Arc.)

Krogan Vanguard- Kirin (In reference to the Japanese version of the Qilin. Also in reference to a boss enemy in Final Fantasy XI.)

Pheonix Vanguard- Conor (In reference to Highlander's Connor MacLeod.)

N7 Slayer- Deadpool (In reference to the DC Character, I actually had a friend point the name out to me when he saw the color scheme and weapons I was using.)

So yea, most are pretty obvious, or at least should be... I think. The other's are a little bit more convoluted or take some knowledge of the history behind the names.

 After becoming hooked on ME3 i changed my xbox live sign in to 'GethByChocolate'. I was quite pleased with that. I was even more smug when someone took the time to message me and congratulate me on the name.
