Because endings. Seriously, the game doesn't deserve to have the same price as Skyrim. Skyrim actually delivered on it's promises.
We got none of that. Skyrim was a very shallow experience. It was big and plentiful, but it had no depth.
Did you follow Skyrim news?
This was all pre-gold statements, I'm always kinda willing to forgive pre-gold statements.

But we can all agree that they're not as good as Fallout 3, because they don't have Liam Neeson.

Worse voiced acting, though. "Have you seen those warriors from Hammerfell? They have curved swords. Curved swords." That line is consistently awful across all voice actors delivering it.

How did broken steal change the ending? I never understood this. All it did was add on to it, you still effectively die at the end of the game, everything plays out exactly as it did before, all you do now is pick up after you die.
That is technically incorrect. The post-game plotline retconned the PC's death into a coma.
Yup, which turned a weird and awkard ending into a weird and awkward moment in the game, which then proceeded to a much better ending.
Moments can be overlooked. Finales stay with you. Bethesda understood this. Bioware just tries to tell you you're wrong and just don't understand the awesomeness.

I agree, acting is better in Oblivion - well, sometimes.
The writing though, is thematic gold. I absolutely love the shades of grey surrounding ulfric and the imperials. It's glorious.

Fair enough, magic is a bit too straightforward. You don't feel like an academic arcan university student counting stats and crafting spells. I see that.
I like skyrims action focus personally. Funnily enough I hate ME3's action focus, so thats kinda funny.
