Again: Isn't Leviathan just another reaper? The reapers have tentacles you know.

No, it looks more like a really tall person, similar to the imfamous meme Slenderman.

I don't think the humanoid figure is the Leviathan,

I believe, either the Reaper in the air was Leviathan should it be a prototype Reaper. Or if it's an actual organic Leviathan. Then the carvings don't picture Leviathan at all and only exist to give more background on the Reapers themselves. Added into the trailer because it's cool and speculative.

I think Jade is right. I don't think the cave paintings show Leviathan. And if it does, it's the weird-looking reaper on the top of the painting.

that seems a Thorianized creature.. consumed by the Thorians. That whole place looks Thorianated tho..

And how Ilos connects with Thorian?

didn't that big Thorian say it 'consumed' races of earlier harvests? I just seen all the distorted features and impossible fingers of those statues, assumed with all the greenery, that Thorians at least were there at one time..maybe still are, down deep in the planet. They sleep alot too..

Is it the same Leviathan as the one Balak mentions? Unless Bioware retcons, it's a Reaper. It was described as giant weird-looking Starship.

I personally prefer they retcon the hell out of this and it's actually something more like a Reaper creator with some mechanical parts.

yeah, it only has four tenicles too, but then, maybe Hanar only had four back then? If a Hanar was huuuugh, then we'd not think them so innocuous. They just seem to hang around the citadel like the keepers...but then, a keeper could be humongous, but they have six legs. Maybe if it could be slenderman it could just as well be the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothman

The leviathan of dis is supposed to be a "reaper corpse"

The "leviathan" we are all looking for is not that reaper, possibly the assassin? Dunno

I'm all for the catalyst creator race, or reaople, as another poster proposed to call them, with no mechanical parts. They just harden up when exposed to arid environment, thus resembling a reapership. Like a starfish, that's capable of sticking around to be reanimated when dunked in water..

and is supposedly indoctrinated them and then it disappeared and they proclaimed it never existed. It was somwhere around 30million  years old..

edit: might explain why reapers tend to hybernate in dark space till activated...

dark space could be considered an ocean deep.. metaphorically speak'n.. Arrrgh, tis'a sneak'n peek version, those aggravat'en scally wags of a writers guild. Just can't trust that lot..

No, the twist isn't that hes just another Reaper....the twist is that he use to date Harbinger. They bbroke up a couple thousand years ago, and Leviathan was very sad... so he started killing other Reapers.

Or if i'm wrong, that reaper corpse wasn't actually a corpse, batarians thought it was dead, maybe it was "sleeping" and after reawakening (maybe batarians accidentally woke him up) it hid into the deeps of the ocean

but if there's a reaper killer out there, i'm inclined to believe in what i've said before :o

I want it to look like one of those crab Reapers you can see at the end of ME2, because I'm getting a little tired of seeing the cuttlefishes everywhere.

me too, when considering the one we boarded, just happened to be hit by a random unknown race..with a cosmic sized unrecorded in the codex, accelleration weapon... It threw a rock at it..?!? lol

Now that is BIG..Posted Image

edit: we never did get to meet the original first reaper to be built by the catalyst either.. It's creator race were kind of powerful bunch and quite large in the then MEU.

I think they're going to be synthetics, like the Geth, who almost totally wiped out their creator race. After many years pondering this situation and watching more and more organics evovle, they decided to create the Catalyst to avoid the eventual extinction, only they had given the Crucible too much access to their own programming, so the Crucible just downloaded them all into Leviathan and then gathered up the rest of the organic and synthetic races in the galaxy. Leviathan faked his death and that was that. The cycle has been spinning since then.

It's what makes me believe it to be organic, as if it were a mechanical reaper trying to hide out, it's communication mechinism would give it away to other reapers and probably the catalyst could track it as well. The Cat is their boss.

The only viable hold out would have to be organic to miss being spotted, even under an ocean.

and by the way, didn't you mean "The Catalyst" not the crucible? just asking?

That's a good point... But.  I figure that if a Reaper really wanted to, they could mess with their own communication system.  In my wild guess, the proto-Reapers would have been loaded into the first Reaper shell and exploited a vulnerability that the Catalyst then fixed in later shells.

You're right!  Too many words starting with C. :lol::lol:

Game never tells us that Ilos Statues are representation of Innusanon race, so I think that Leviathan is look like Proto-Reaper made from this race.

That's supposed to be the Innusanon (sp?), the species that was around before the Protheans. Javik confirms this when he talks about Ilos. He says something along the lines of "Protheans built a city on top of the ruins from the previous cycle."

And if these statues were to be the leviathans then that would be the 3rd time they've been retconned. In ME1, these statues are supposed to be Protheans. Come ME3, however, Bioware decided to change things up.

Also, if one of Shepards squadmates does indeed say that, it's quite possible Leviathan is a reaper "core" with no exterior shell and its attacks are maybe telepathic/telekinetic perhaps.

I'm guessing maybe a new species? Lair of the Shadow Broker introduced the Yahg, so maybe we could see Leviathan be a Virtual Alien or something!
