nah, i'm usually in the top anyways. one match i was going toe to toe with a destroyer; i was using a human engineer with a drone; just debuffing everything, getting loads of points. he actually used two (2) rockets on the later waves to catch up to me and ended up on top.

i though that was funny; since we had a pretty good team and it wasn't an objective mission, i don't think.

No, not really. The only time I will care is if there is a huge gap between the bottom two players' scores. I mean like 30-40k difference because the guy in last is usually someone that belongs on a lower difficulty level or is expecting to be carried. I don't mind if the disparity between the bottom two are a couple thousand because I know they at least tried to play & just had a bad game. I want team contributors not lazy bums or rookies*.

*and even rookies contribute but probably still belong on a lower difficulty until they get better

It's human nature to be competitive, especially for men. I'd bet my right testicle that 1/2 the peeps in this thread who say they don't care about score, also claim to not ****** (cause of all the multitudes of girls they get). Almost everyone cares about it to one degree or another.
So hell yeah I love being first, hate last and proud to admit it. Plus I ****** too. And I'm married. I'm a real man. Go me.

Good God no. I'd be offended if anyone even asked me that personally.

Last night I had my first match where I made an effort to pad our score at the end of the match. One person I was playing with needed a little bit of extra XP to reach level 20 with a 6th character for the operation, and was getting too sleepy to play another match, so I used all my missiles on waves 10 and 11, on silver, to try to make it happen. It worked. It's the only time since I started playing the game that I consciously tried to up the score.

More and more often I end up scoring the most when I play. I do not see myself as the better player because of it. I see it as me having improved since I started playing, but not much more than that. (Or maybe I haven't improved all that much, and just have better guns now than I did back then.) If I die more than my share during a match it doesn't matter how many points I got before I went down. I'm being an annoyance to the team by them needing to revive me a lot, and I don't like doing that to them.

Sometimes it makes me wonder if I'm being selfish with the kills. I get eager sometimes and forget to be considerate of other people's gaming experience. I just love killing things, and tend to charge spawn points to see enemies die in larger numbers. It isn't until afterwards that I stop to think "dammit woman, there are other people on the team and they like killing things too."

Nope. I'm normally just happy that there's someone else competent on my team.

I feel concerned if I'm last. Don't like to feel like a burden, probably shouldn't either, but can't help. Also, I do get angry when people fire proxi-mines directly at a phantom or banshee when they have teammates using flamer/incendiary. Proxi-mines proc the hand of denial, no damage or debuff goes through, and your teammates' DoT goes to hell.

4th isn't bad as long as you are actually assisting or if curves in the score for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th aren't that large. Sometimes I land in 4th because I was busy reviving others (that I couldn't focus on kills), some noob wasn't taking cover and getting me killed as a result, or I was distracting the enemy during an activity.

No shame in 4th as long as you were holding your own.

I only don't wanna be in 4th, or at least down by more that 5000 points from third place. It makes me feel like I'm not doing enough to help.

I know it's wrong, and it's usually unfair to judge someone's contribution to the team by looking at their score

I don't think I've ever looked at score in game, even once. I find ouit the scores at the end of the game. Some classes can look like they are not doing much but score big.

I do strive to be a good teammate. For me, that is usually getting a high score as I play as a vanguard mainly. However, when I see someone who has a good lead on me, I kinda get a feeling of relief. I no longer feel like "If I go down, I MUST medigel. or risk losing the mission" I feel as if it isn't my duty to clutch the round in this situation, it's theirs. Of course, if it is during a high wave I will still medigel anyway.

Depends on the class I play. If I'm playing a support role (Demolisher, Geth Engineer, Paladin) then I don't worry about my score at all. I'm I'm playing a heavy hitter and I'm not at the top of the board I wonder what I'm doing wrong and try to fix it so I'm playing my role better.

If I am the first on the scoreboard, I know that something has gone seriously wrong. We may be all dead. :/

Case in point: silver match last night, Firebase Giant Reapers, leveling a SI and practicing my sniping, so Widow X only, no SMG or sidearm. I was hot on headshots, which kept us out of trouble until wave 7. Solo the last half of 7, rezbot on 8. Wave 9 and the Banshee squad rapes two of my teammates early. I am left to Solo wave 9 without anything for CQC. Banshee barriers restoring as I shoot, reload canceling not fast enough to take her down with other distractions. So, I ran to the nearest Ravager and kissed her. Final score: Me 88k, other three at about 33k. Ugh.

Usually I am third, I have trophies equal to my teammates except in kills. Scoring 60-100k and getting done fast is what I'm about. I do check the scoreboards when I am playing with better players, mostly being self-conscious of being a drag to the team. <i might tryhard 2 much>

When I roll Plat Reapers Glacier with my friends Bolo_Bob and junkgypsy, I score about 40k! Yep, fourth place.... But we finish in 16 minutes without gelling.

Yes, if I'm not the first I'll insult everyone in the lobby and leave, how dare they outscore me!

Seriously now...being the 1st in the scoreboard is something that I'm usual proud of (expecially when I'm playing with low level characters), but when I have double the points of the second in later waves I start to get concerned about the final objective wave :\\

LOL :)
No, in fact I worry if I am in first place...I play engineers 99% of the time and if my QFE is first by a large margin, then the team is being carried by a small Quarian and her shotgun.
