Do you get jealous/angry/suspicious if you're not in 1st?

I worry when I check mid game and I am first. I don't mind coming in last at all. I'm there to make the 3rd place person feel better.

Only when I work an atlas down from full shields to a single bar of armour and some f@ggot GI with a Piranha deliberately goes out of his way to snipe the atlas from across the god damn f*cking map (seriously bioware, i thought that sh*t was supposed to be strictly CQC). Or when I work a group of phantoms down to a few bars of health and some piece of trash takes them all with a grenade. What I hate most though is some idiot covering up my BE primers with overload or energy drain when the thing has no more shields. Which is why i never ever play with any sort of engineers in pugs (demolishers not included because they're awesome).

With PuGs, absolutely. Whenever I've played with people from this forum, though, I'm usually third at best. I accept that I'm a decent player, but not a great one, and this forum is full of very good players. I also don't mind if I'm Kroguarding, because I consider my main job to be drawing aggro so that the rest of the team mostly doesn't have to worry about getting shot at. Also good for charge+revive.

But generally, yeah, if I'm using something that I'm good with, and I'm playing with randoms, I get annoyed/jealous if I'm outscored, even if they're running a GI.

well I am expecting geniunely good players to better than me. So I don't get jealous or angry if a geniunely good players with a good loadout out performs me. And I will never ask to them to be nerfed. it would be rude of me if I did.

I do want everyone to have at least one solid money maker character with a good loadout, even if it is insane.

Not really, I'm not exactly an amazing player so having someone score higher than me isn't surprising. However, there was this one time I was a bit angry at a player who intentionally saved all of his missiles for wave 11 just to secure the top spot.

To be perfectly honest, I am a bit competitive.

I want to be at the top of the list and I check the scoreboard one or two times in a match to see how things are going. But if I get beaten by other players, I know that was because either I had a bad play, or if things went along normally, that the other player that beat me was simply better, in which case I am getting competitive because I want to get better myself.

And if I get better, then everyone profits from that. Constant honing of my skills is my game so to speak.

Plus, it's always nice to put a freshly promoted character into a silver lobby, see everyone with level twenty characters and then proceed to outscore all of them, hopefully quenching whatever prejudices against low level (character level) players might have existed before the match.

If he wasn't level 20, he may have been trying to boost XP. I've done this before on silver. Not the saving up, I just tend not to use them. But I run around rocketing spawns if I'm trying to relevel. It isn't about securing the top score or anything like that.

I never really want to be 1st because then I suspect my teammates might be holding back. I panic much more if I come in last because then I feel like I'm being carried if my score isn't keeping up with the rest of the team. But what can you do? Sometimes I like to experiment with a different class / Build. I'm not going to always be at my best...

I do constantly check the score screen during the match. Its a bad habit.

I do get annoyed if I'm 1st and all of a sudden I see a guy start blasting rockets for no reason to try to boost their score or if during objectives they're running around whoring up all the mobs to bloat their score.

There are certain characters that it is a lot easier to get score with than others, even though you may actually be helping the team less. So no, score doesn't matter.

Not really.
I mean, I'll obsessively check the score between waves, but I'm not gonna exert extra effort just to make sure I am number one.
Although if I come up last I'll just laugh it away and be like 'Well I did **** in this game.'

Actually I kinda "like" when I'm not first, it usually means that for once I have (a) decent teammate(s) in my team.

... or that I'm having a horrible day and other people are kind enough to "carry me", hehe. :)

Well to be fair, I main an Engineer and I use Energy Drain on unshielded enemies cause it stuns them for a second or two. It usually chains to anyone next to them and sometimes even kills.
I can only assume that's what they try to do when you play with them.

It doesn't bother me if I am not on the top of the scoreboard. What I look at is my point total and if it is where it should be. If it is below then yeah I can't help but think I am slacking or have spent far too much time taking a dirt nap.

I don't care about my place... Anyway I'm almost always last:P But it's mostly just like 3k points difference and also I'm very sure that I do my part to the team and that's enough for me:)

No. Not that I'm ever not in first. PUGs are pretty bad.

I'll openly admit to feeling like a burden if I'm not in first or second place; like I didn't play hard enough, fast enough, smart enough, etc. Maybe this comes from playing "the worst" engineer (FQE) and having this constant need to prove she is good. Inferiority complex? Quite possibly.

I promote my characters constantly (can't remember when I actually played with a level 20 character).

So it's rare that I finish in first in higher level games while ranking up. If I have to use a level 12 Sentinel, I expect a level 20 GI to get the top spot.

In the end, we get all the same points, so let them try hard and earn me points

No, I don't get angry. It's more embarrassment if I end up at the bottom of the scoreboard. As long as I'm within 5-10k points of the other players, though, not that big of a deal.

I pretty much embarrassed myself raging about stuff in games with friends and maybe because my ME3 friends are almost all a lot older than me, that got me some 'feedback' ;)

A month back then I read up about how the scoring works, and realised I want credits more than xp and being top of the scoreboard :bandit:

I also started noticing the major effects lag or class+map+enemy combinations could have on score etc.  and realised it wasn't always someone being suspiciously l33t, just a good player or good choice of kit etc. or who was hosting the game .

Most of the time I am having a LOT more fun by ignoring the scoreboard and 'optimal builds', and only get annoyed by bad players going for high scores while at the same time ignoring escorts or revives.  (I play mostly gold and silver, but I only play gold with friends cos PUGs on gold stress me out.)

So yeah, don't rage over better players, learn from them and just blame lag for the rest

It makes me happy when I'm not in first. I top nearly every match I'm in, so if someone's outscoring me then that just means I have to do less work and I'm okay with this.
