Why Can't We Have Nice Armors?

First off, I want to know why we can't get any decent headgear that doesn't make my Shep look like a complete dork.  In other words, I'M PRETTY SURE HE DOESN'T NEED ANOTHER FREAKING VISOR.  That is perhaps the single most impractical piece of equipment you could slap on a soldier.  It has all the reduced FoV of a helmet with none of the protection.  And while the Breather Helmet is nice, it feels way too generic, the Securitel Helmet, Kestrel Helmet, and Capacitor Helmet just look silly, and while the Recon Hood and Death Mask are awesome, they just get boring after a while.

As for the rest of the armor permutations, they look way too similar.  And frankly, it can't even come to cosmetics with them if you're spec-ing your armor.

And don't even get me started on the recycled sets from ME2.  Really Bioware.  Don't get creative or anything, guys.  That Defender armor really pushed the limits of imagination.

I know its a bad gaming comparison but I know what armor I would want.

Halo 4's designs are amazing
You can definitely tell that a lot of care and thought went into making them. Unlike the Defender Armor which is the Multiplayer Soldier's armor with an N7 helm instead of Death Mask.

Many multiplayer armours are better than what Shepard gets. That annoys the **** out of me.

I stopped playing after Halo 2... and I'm glad I did. That looks like it came straight from a Japanese mecha.
No thanks.

Compared to Mass Effect, that Halo picture look like something taken from a bad korean game or a stereotypical action anime.

Conclusion:
Mass Effect armour > Halo armor

Actually, most armors are exactly what he gets, believe it or not.  Destroyer armor is just Terminus with a spud gun.  Paladin armor is essentially Cerberus/Inferno armor.  I mean, they had time to strap the launcher on the Terminus.  Why not spend a little extra time to tweak it.  It's obviously a different model now.

That's ONE picture.  You're comparing all of ME's armor to ONE PICTURE.

Do us all a favor and really understand what you're saying

My statement still stands.
Though, most future armors are more likely to look more similar to Halo's because armors of Mass Effect were created to have some sort of aesthetic appeal to them. But that's not really the issue of this topic.

As I said, when it comes to looks :
Mass Effect armors > Halo armors

especially the ones someone posted earlier in the thread.

Well the amount of detail and diversity of Halo armors is superior to Mass Effect's for me. We all have our preferences and opinions and I respect yours.

The Crysis nano-suit looks better than all Halo 4 and Mass Effect armors combined...Would love to have something like that in Mass Effect.

If you want, the collector armor sort of fits that style.

Halo 4 armor is supposed to look like that.  It's stylized to resemble advanced/forerunner tech.  The Mass Effect armors look almost like Halo 3's permutations.

Better questions, why can't my squadmate have nice armors?

Edit: Plus, I don't know why everyone is bashing that Halo armor. I would love to wear that Halo armor compare to all the junk my Shepard is forced to wear.

And Mass Effect is just a Star Trek videogame. I've never played Halo in my life but why are you bashing one of the most well known videogame titles that have actually brought good attention to this medium of entertainment. Why would anyone degrade anything that brings positive attention to a medium they like.

Is this a serious question? You're on a video game forum.

I've always loved Halo's armour, but that's just my personal preference. What I don't get is how Liara can run around in something that is essentially a pair of heels, and if she can, why can't I?

Can't comment on multi-player armour, still haven't touched it.

A lot of things weren't perfect in ME2 and ME3 but one thing the designers got totally right in both games were armors for both genders.I enjoyed their realistic and believable designs.
And thats quite something nowadays with all the silly over-sexualized bikini, catsuit ''armors'' and the completely unrealistic bulky action figure-giant-shoulderpad suits that turn the player into a freakin' 5000 lbs golem.

No Sir, I really can't complain about the armor.

I would also prefer the color customisation of the MP. Imo it sucks in SP, not even all parts of the armor are affected. This was so much better in ME2.

Actually, if that's the one in the screenshot, it looks like James' armor, which means both the defender and multiplayer armors are just reskins (all of the new multiplayer classes are just reskinned bodies of other characters, as are most of the alternate squadmate outfits).

Sigh.
