Why Can't We Have Nice Armors?

Also as for the DLC ideals mention I think the Cerberus one would be interesting but I don't think we would be getting abilites that have only been used in the Multiplayer DLC. Since smash and lash were Phoenix abilites and their training also came from the implants they had place in them to help with biotics. Sheperad while having cybernatics is still mostly human

Kaidan's armor is really over elaborate. He's a biotic. What could he possibly need all that gear for?
Well, taking a wild guess, I'd assume he'd need all that armour to protect himself from being shot at. The same reason anyone else wears all that armour.

I understand the concept behind it.
But it is also something that will never happen, because armor that turns a man into a walking tank is impractical for real world militaries in terms of cost, logistics, situational awareness, and a lack of mobility. A walking tank is never going to be as mobile as man who isn't wearing an exoskeleteon, even with mechanical aids. The future of body armor is in light weight ballistic materials, not power armor.
In that I find the Mass Effect armors to be more realistic than those seen in Halo.
Well, I will say, that nobody knows how the future will turn out, so, I won't say that powered armor is never going to happen.
Look at history, when the first steam engines were developped it was said that you would never be able to make a steam ship that could cross an ocean only on steam power alone.
In the 1880s it was impractical to make a ship with armored belts along the waterline (which lead to the development of protected cruisers rather than armored cruisers) as armor plate of the day needed to be about 18" thick to stop the shells of their day, and then Krupp developped cemented case hardened armor plate and it revolutionized armor design.
One of the reasons wooden ships were used for so long is that nobody figured out how to make a magnetic compass that worked when encased in an iron hull until around 1840.
So, who knows what the future holds for combat equipment.

I think he meant Kaidan's alternate brown "Marine" armor. That has tons of pockets and stuff. The question is, why is he asking about that when he should be asking how Shepard and everyone else runs around in armor with no visible storage compartments for things like thermal clips, grenades, and other tools carried by soldiers.JaegerBane wrote...

Where does Miranda keep extra clips when she's wearing her catsuit?

In her purse.

I definitely think a new armor pack is in order. I'd pay for that.
I support this.
