Now I've tried asking on the steam forums, but so far nobody has anwsered, so I'm just going to post it here to see if anyone can help me.

Every time I resume a game or load it, it just freezes my screen but I
can still move my mouse around for a couple of seconds but then it just
crashes. I've tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and
reinstalling the game, verified integrity the game cache. Now I'm just
guessing that my save files are corrupted. I'm seriously bummed out as I've
spent 28 hours on this and I was soon finished with the game and I'm
scared that I'll have to restart it.

Does somebody have any tips of what I could do?

Ok, so does anybody know how to fix corrupted save files then?
