I just making Harbinger knows which playthrough now as an Adept on Insanity in ME2. I just like to ask some advice which bonus talent is the best for an Adept? I choosed Shield Drain, because Adepts don't have any power to remove shields fast.
And which bonus weapon training is the best? I'm always choosed shotgun ,because I like it and makes the game harder. :P I mostly use pistol and SMG - Locust and Carnifex rulz!

PS: I don't have any weapon DLC, just the free ones!

Do you have Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC? If you do, then Stasis is probably the best bonus talent for the Adept. You can leave it at 1 point and you will be fine.

NOTE: Apparently the PC version is bugged so you cannot choose Stasis at the initial Choose Your Bonus Power screen, but you can select it once you recruit Mordin and unlock the Research Terminal.

If you do not have Lair of the Shadow Broker, then Warp Ammo and Energy Drain are probably the two most-chosen bonus powers for the Adept. Depending on how you plan to level up your Adept, then I would recommend Slam until you put points into Pull.

As for removing shields fast, you have squadmates and SMGs to help you do that.

For weapons training, choose shotguns or assault rifles. Assault Rifles are good since that will give you the Vindicator, a great backup weapon for your Carnifex and SMG of choice; you could then ditch the Locust and use the Tempest or Shuriken. I also like shotguns; I prefer the Katana, although the Eviscerator is surprisingly good on the Adept as well.

If you had Firepower Pack DLC (you say you do not), then the Geth Plasma shotgun would have been perfect for you. It is great at stripping shields and barriers and is good on the Adept.

Also be sure to check out the List of Strategy Guides on the Forum for more information about using the Adept.

For my Insanity Adept run I went with Reave as a bonus power along with assault rifle training. I took Jack with me for Squad Warp Ammo.

Stasis is easily the best BP for the Adept, if you have access to it. You can't select it in the CC though, so you'll have to wait until you get Mordin, iirc.

Barrier and Energy Drain are good BPs. Warp Ammo synergizes, I guess, but because of the way damage is calculated in ME2, I think it's a points-sink you can do without.

Shotgun training is very good for Adepts since it gets you the GPS, which is probably the ideal caster gun in ME2 (long range, strong debuff). Otherwise, Assault Rifle training is good for the Mattock/Vindicator. Biotics move too slowly to work well with Sniper Rifles IMO (can't really power snipe).

Thanks for the infos. I've the Shadow Broker DLC, but Ididn't find the Stasis power or I don't look very well. But really, that power rocks!. Sadly no weapon DLC so far, the game way too easy with the default weps.

Heh, I just beat the Geth Colossuss on Tali's mission without using heavy weapons! Team members Miranda and Kasumi + Shield Drain talent level 1.

Stasis is great for biotic classes (I think you can get it for everyone once you have access to it, but I never get a bonus power that's out of character - my Shepard isn't a biotic). As far as weapon training goes, you might want to consider ARs if you have the Firepower Pack in order to use the Mattock - it's super fun.

I should check these forums more often. But everyone already said everything I probably would have anyway.

Stasis is the best bonus power, but I didn't use it all that much. It just depends on if you want to abuse the insane damage as target falls (I only liked to abuse it against Vasir...). It makes everything through Scions and YMIRs very easy.

I don't like Energy Drain all that much, but can see the appeal. I usually just use squad powers or rapid fire weapons to drain shields, then use a power of mine.

Otherwise vanilla biotics wise you can try to do Reave but the issue is it sort of interferes with your other powers. But extra health is always nice. The other good thing is that Area Reave does enough damage to strip armor off of most basic units that have it, like the melee creatures (husks and Varren) and I think one cast strips a Loki as well. That actually is somewhat helpful on a few missions (Tuchanka, Derelict Reaper mostly).

I like Slam because it is a fun power and has a fast cooldown. Plus you can detonate it with Warp if you use a squadmate. It does overlap with Pull somewhat, although it is more fun. You will end up wanting Area Pull for killing groups of husks so 1pt Slam as a bonus may be nice early game before you invest in Pull, like Red said.

Warp Ammo is one I have used on Adept playthroughs predominantly so it wasn't yet another active power, and from playing Soldier too much in ME2 I always felt like my guns were naked if they didn't have an ammo power. Little more damage on the guns (trailing off and become less useful as the game progresses), but not competing with cooldowns.

I essentially don't like defensive bonus powers in ME2 so no Barrier, GSB or Fortification.

Weapons... depends. If you want to sit back and cast, go AR with Vindicator and run the Shuriken. Shuriken is a good gun if you use it at close range and especially after you get some SMG upgrades. Tempest is actually fine too. You would not want to be using the Locust if you have AR training.

Alternatively, go Shotguns and take your pick. Katana, Scimitar, Eviscerator are all fairly well balanced, just fit along different parts of a spectrum. I lean more towards Katana or Evi if you aren't just trying to apply ammo powers. Shotguns are more for a CQB adept, and would be best paired with Reave or Stasis IMO. In this case you would want the Locust as your SMG for medium to long range, and pistol for long range and armor.

Sniper Rifles are sort of annoying to have equipped when you use powers, but you can use the scope to your advantage to get some range on the casting. The only choice here is Viper which can be used effectively at medium and long range. Mantis has way too little ammo to be a decent choice on anything but Soldier or Infiltrator (and some argue not even there).
