I'm not saying I'm trusting the damn Reapers. I'm not saying that I support the Catalyst's motives, because I want the Reapers to end. I'm saying the I support the concept, because it proves that there's more to the Galaxy to what we no. Things beyond our understanding. I may have chosen Destroy, but I still like the whole concept of the Catalyst, the scenery, etc.

Look, if this is going to be a problem for some of you, I don't care. Hell I don't care if this Thread becomes the most controversial Thread on BSN. I didn't make this Thread for people to shun mindlessly. I made this because I am saying that I do not hate the Catalyst. Though I don't support what he wanted, I like the fact that he was created, because he shows that there are some things in the Universe beyond our understanding, supernatural or not.

How can you say you like the catalyst but then say you don't support his motives he controls the reapers and he himself is pretty much a reaper himself since he is the reaper collective he is a affront that we have been fighting against the entire series so of course I don't want to compromise with my enemy or bow to them in order to beat them


The reapers have destroyed the last cycle and have almost destroyed ours I have no reason to believe him or talk with him

You don't understand. I like the fact that he is there. That he exists. I like the fact that the Catalyst was made in THAT form. It gives the Catalyst a Supernatural look. I don't have to support his motives in order to say that I don't dislike the concept of the Character.

I can't make something without people having a problem with it. I don't hate the concept of the Catalyst or the fact that he is simply there. So what?

Well giving into the reapers or having our only decent weapon to try to use against them can't be used or activated without the reapers collective catalyst is a big no no

Or have we not seen how manipulation from the reapers have caused

Interesting that anyone would call it a 'he'. It would seem impressed that any organic thought of it might be a person, not a thing. Most don't like the Cat,cause it gives them no choice. If not for the crucible, the catalyst would continue to perform it's primary function. Many give it too much credit, that it is capable of 'doing wrong' and it should be 'punished' for its wrong doing.

When is actuality, all that is required is to change it's programming. To better suite the MEU and all the life forms there in. It cannot be destroyed, only out manuvered/hacked. Ill will is wasted on the catalyst. Such energy could be better spent figuring out which of the four choices given by the crucible would be the best case scenerio for all interested parties.

If we monitor the posts on the BSN, there is no consensus as to what that best choice is. We know what is the most popular choice is, but not the actual choice given.

My feelings are neutral toward the Catalyst. I still don't trust him. The fact that we have to play a DLC to learn more about the Reapers tells me there are some details about the Reapers that the Catalyst doesn't want Shepard to know about.

Out of the things you say people are doing, the only one actually happening is the bolded, and last I saw, you're allowed to do that. Being the OP doesn't give you special treatment.

I don't believe that the Cat is hiding anything, I think there is a mystery protagonist to be reveiled in the DLC, but not 'secreted' stuff by the catalyst. It only has it's programming and that is the major flaw with it. It IS chaos by it's very existence. If we tack on 'evil' and 'bad' and 'responsible', we're only fooling ourselves.

It just doesn't have the CPU power to figure it out, organics have to show it new ideas..fix it, and find a future better for the MEU.

I'm NOT saying I trust the Reapers! I am saying that I support BioWare Idea and concept of the Catalyst. I like the fact that it shows up at that time, revealing itself completely.

I don't like what the Catalyst tried to do, but that doesn't mean I have to "hate" it.

Not everyone agrees or supports the reapers sorry that I fought a galactic war against the reapers trying to unite a entire galaxy in order to beat them only to figure out that the super weapon I've been wasting endless resources on require the reaper collective just to finish or operate it

So you're fine with the Catalyst downplaying the Reapers to such a degree that they now resemble Toy Story rejects? Are you also fine with it being a terrible, hole-ridden plot device that invalidates both of the previous 2 games?

It's not a matter of 'trust', it's a matter of predictibility. The reapers are simpletons, on the emotional level. They don't 'need', they just do. Except 'hatred'. It's not in the programming.
