Really only the first one is subjective. The 2nd is an objective hole in logic that was never addressed and thus a legitimate issue (also the larger issue, imo).

No, the simplicity of your OP directs that it is not that complex. Many wish to include metagaming into a non existing arguement to compel controversy. That eventually will lead to cross talk and diffusion. They do it all the time here, its an accepted form of arguement,confuse the issues, create chaos. And lose the original point.

Hatred of the catalyst is "OK" cause they don't understand it, or it's just a bad thing and needs removed, or don't know so blast it..lol

What isnt complex? My argument? Your argument? The meaning of life?

What non-existing argument? The argument I presented (The Catalyst being a plot hole) exists very clearly.

If the catalyst has always resided in the citadel he could've had the reapers come in from the mass relay and have soverign not waste so much time and resources


If The catalyst as mentioned has always resided in the citadel then their wouldn't have been a need to use the collectors or risk the collectors and then use harbinger sacrifice alot of resources to create the human reaper they could've just opended the relay and let the reapers in and yes it can be seen as a giant hole in logic

Plot holes aren't subjective. It's either a plot hole or it isn't. If you don't see it, then it isn't my problem. In context, the Catalyst's entire existence is a plot hole because if the all-powerful Reaper overlord has been around all this time, why bother having Sovereign risk time and resources (and exposure) opening the Citadel, when he could have done it himself? Why have the Collectors start kidnapping people and drawing attention to themselves when he could have just called in the Reapers unannounced and went on his merry way?

Those aren't opinions, those are holes in logic.

we don't know for sure anything about the catalyst, it's not a hole, just because we don't know. Those are opionions posed as fact. Another tactic utilized on BSN. Shall I head canon like that to explain your errors in, say, logic?

@bold- And that's why your argument doesn't work. If the Catalyst was unable to act, it should have been exposited in some form. There's no implication at all that the Catalyst leads by proxy, or anything like that. In fact, his dialogue directly contradicts that.

I can see his/her point, as the one poster just keeps on trucking tho he/she know it's incorrect, but just cannot control themselve now. They'll keep it up till a Moderator shows with the do not pass muster button..

I don't hate this Character. I liked the idea. The Catalyst, in my opinion, proves that there is more to Outer Space than just Stars, Planets, and Aliens.  Proof that there are things out there beyond our understanding, supernatural or not. That's part of what space is all about right? The "Unknown?" Though I don't agree for his wanting of "order, I still like the concept, presence.

So....yeah. Pretty much my opinion. I'm not one of the players who STILL  hates sll of this.

Just wait for a few DLCs. All the haters will turn into lovers, still hating officially of course.

It's starting already! All the "I didn't download the EC, just watched it on YouTube and it's still ****. I'm outa here" guys that still post every day... yeah... sure guys...

OP, players just WANT an enemy to vanquish. The Cat is a handy target, then if that doesn't work, then the metagaming will ensue.

The Catalyst is just a machine stuck on stupid via programming, so your opionion on it is valid, on it's face. Next you'll have to explain why 'not' hating at it is beneficial?

This is very difficult to explain. I see the Catalyst more than just an AI. I'm just saying that I like the fact that it exists. It gives a different feel to the plot, and I welcome it. I'm trying the best I can to explain this.

I mean, I myself do not have any reason to hate how here appeared, let alone how the scene was made.
