That's the crappy part. I don't plan on using/playing anything Origin again after ME 3 and DS 3. My friends list is Steam dominant. Between house projects, work, my kid and my preggo wify, I don't have time to cruise BSN for playing friends before i play. Hell i barely have time to play.

Maybe i'm spoiled by well made MP games but i shouldn't have to go on the forums and friend a bunch of people up JUST so i can play anything but 1 map.

Even on White if you stay near the ladder they will spawn downstairs a lot of the time. Plus White already has a spawn point behind the wall near the back entrance. Why not use it and deal with FBW? Sure people will move to Glacier or Giant then. 

1. If they spawn in the back that doesn't hurt the farming of fbw, it just makes it quicker. All you would have to do is have one person watch the back and nail the spawn point like speed runners do if they spawn there. So, unless the players were really bad, having them spawn in the back would actually make their farming more efficient.

2. The problem isn't with fbw or farming. The problem is that when you do a quick search for u/u/g, it should either be used as a random search rather than accept any gold lobby or even better send you to a lobby where the setting is u/u/g. You said yourself, even if they got rid of fbw (much rather see them dump or fix the glitch-king rio) farmers would just farm other maps...and pretty much every map is farmable if you use the right tactics.

It's why I almost always host. That, and I hate lag.

But usually I just enter and leave lobbies until I find a non-FBWGG match. It usually doesn't take that long, maybe a couple lobbies I have to leave before I find a random.

You don't have to search the forum for people to add to your friends list. When you do find the kind of matches you're looking for, pay attention to the other players. If you like how they play and their attitude seems decent, send them a friend request. When you've added some, it should make it easier to put together the kind of matches you want to play.

Yeah. All fights start with someone hitting back. Regarding the OP, everything I wrote still stands.

Coop game. That stand for cooperative. You know a possible solution but you want something not possible. Sounds awfully like a tantrum to me.

If nothing else helps, play some FBWGG. Send friend requests to those that play it well. Make an effort. That is the best and probably the smartest you can do.

And i don't host b/c it takes longer to get a full game going than it does to surf around for 15 aggrivating minutes to find a near full game.

What platform are you playing on? I see this complain a lot, and it's just puzzling - on pc, the FBW is never a problem for me. Yes, it comes up in gold lobbies more than any other map, but not so often that it's aggravating. If i'm not in the mood for farming, i just leave the lobby and generally find another one set to uug or whatever right away. *shrug* Hosting is always an option too.

ETA: I even saw a lobby set to Condor/Geth/Gold the other day. I left, and god have mercy on their souls.

Playing on PC. Maybe it was Operation Alloy that had people trying to farm for XP.

Then either i'm ridiculously lucky, or you're exaggerating the situation quite a bit. It doesnt't take any effort at all to find a non-WGG gold lobby on PC - not on operation weekends, not at any time. The most lobbies I had to quit in a row when i really was not in the mood for FBWGG, was two. And I live in an asscrack of Eastern Europe and my connection is not very good.

You state the obvious. The obvious has already been done. I can't control the hours my Origin friends play, nor should the shoddy search function be blamed on me. That truly sounds like an idiotic response.

I have heard these nerf ideas before and I'm against them. People should play however they want to.

I just want a search function that allows me to ignore certain maps. It would take less time to code than a single new map or player but would benefit everyone and would extend the life of the MP.

Unfortunately, friends lists are subject to attrition. Many people I started out with are no longer playing. But as I play private and public games as well, getting currently active people on my list is not big an issue.

You could try joining some groups like Legion Effect or whatever else is out there.

It all depends on the team you play with. A good team will make any match fun.

What ruined FBW, is that local meme "FBWGG". Some idiot spread the rumor how easy and fun it is to camp below, and everyone since than take it as they duty to repeat everywhere they can that thing.

I get it, OP does not like the search function. Well I hate playing the Geth on any map other than fbw, so I always search with U/Cerberus/G - sometimes I still get fbwgg, but most of the times I can get a match vs Cerberus.

I am a bit surprised when I saw some people post in this thread the very slow internet speed that they use. I am sure that this might be the source of some of the problems people are having with disconnections and lag.
