I just want to put this out there as I'm reading all posts of this Poll.
The original ending was no doubt a trainwreck that no one liked.
All the people that agree with the EC ending and liked it, is the group that Bioware salvaged with the EC.
The rest still hate the ending regardless of the EC.
Two different groups, that's what they did to ME fans, they ran off with one to still get something out of it because they know what they did.

Nah, I actually didn't mind the original endings.
I know, right?!

Ruin?
Nope.
Damaged greatley?
Yup.

Even without endings, Mass Effect 3 is far less that i hoped for.

I'm not referring to the endings, but more the parts leading up to it where lots of potential was missed.

Things like never seeing the Salarians or Rachni in action on Earth. Never seeing the Krogan ride the Kakliasaurs. Never seeing both the quarian AND geth fleets side-by-side, never getting a krogan or geth in your squad, having a lack luster escape-from-earth, no suicide-mission-esque choices in London, not having a car chase for Kai Leng the way it was done in LotSB....the list goes on.

Does knowing that so much was missed because of EA's rushed deadline make you feel like the previous two games lost some of their charm?

Hell yes.

I love humanity just defaults into "We're more important." Other species have thousands of intergalactic history, with civilizations that have lasted longer, and somehow not only is Earth more important than the rest of the galaxy but humans (who are really new to this intergalactic stuff) have the largest fleet AND a large break away Cerberus fleet.

The large fleet that means more than the turian fleet and whose troops are stronger than krogan troops riding toxin immune dinosaurs are kinda ... regrettable.

But the fact that you have to go back to Earth with the largest fleet in history could have been different. They needed something to strike at and since they retconned Reapers into being drones to a central intelligence... why couldn't that have been some target that the fleet could strike at?

It only ruins the triolgy for me if I accept ME3 as canon, which I don't.

this, I still enjoy playing ME1 and ME2 I just ignore what happens next and just fill in the end with headcanon

I'm still waiting for Mass Effect 3... it's one hell of a major oversight they label this multiplayer spin off as the third one. The campaign is just a simulation... none of it is happening.... It's just Harbringer trying to find the best way to screw Shepard. >_>.....

Not really ME2 and ME1 are still good, ME3 is just terrible.
An abomination of a game.

Of course. The ending is a joke with and without the EC. Plus, there tons of flaws in the game itself.

ME3 ruined everything!

Not only did it ruin the Mass Effect trilogy but also my will to play any computer game at all, my marriage, my career, my life!
Even my children hates me thanks to ME3! "We could never love a father that plays shi*ty games like that" they said. "Well say hi to foster care" I said!

Bioware you Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!

Yes.  It's so bad that I can't even try to play ME1 again for more than a few minutes.  I can play the MP fine, but that's not playing Mass Effect...that's just random mindless shooting at entities with characters, weapons, and enemies from a game I used to enjoy.

I'm still considering buying the DLC, in hopes that someday I'll get over it.  But I'm not getting over it anytime soon.

YES

YES IT DID

ME3 killed the passion for the series, way to go bioware, you killed a franchise with that crappy ending, the EC just does not cover up the fact that you failed.

No, it didn't ruin the trilogy for me. In fact, I loved ME3. Even though it had so much missed potential. So many flaws, I still loved it. YEAH.

The Extended Cut made the pain go away. We got closure with our characters and an emotional payoff. That is what I wanted. I'm planning on getting future DLC and replaying the trilogy twice with a FemShep.

not at all, pre-EC it felt hollow, post EC it gave me closure, ME3 has a lot of flaws, I can't deny that. But the universe is still rich and interesting with fascinating characters and races

I think that Bioware pulled a George lucas and tried to make the series into a shooter and gave up a lot of the RPG feel..... It was so blatanly obvious that some writers just didn't have any passion or cared at all on some planets/ missions. It was like... YEAH AWESOME!!! THIS IS AMAZING --- next mission...... Wait...what? I am supposed to care why? And it goes like that 50/50 throughout the entire game.

Then again that's exactly what the gaming industry has come to..... It's not games for gamers made by gamers. It's games for stockholders made by gamers / people who don't care whom are forced into submission. The ending is not what made me the most angry ( I already have my way of interperating it and I like it ). It's that half of the journey up untill the end felt rushed and lacked passion I just didn't care. And then we have Kai leng, diana allers and James vega for instance.... **** sake..... The EXTREME lack of dialogue options ( seriously, his talking on his own and the different choices is almost 90% the same outcome / responses anyway ). Your choices didn't matter for **** either, for instance. You killed the Rachni queen on noveria? Too bad, the reapers created a replacement ( a '' bad '' queen but still ). United the Quarians and the geth? Too bad you wont see it in action. Saved the collector base? Too bad it's just a number on your screen. I could go on for days....

I no longer felt like I was playing an RPG, I felt like I was playing a shooter made to sell Multiplayer DLCs

It ruined the replay value definitely, I was honestly still ready to forgive ME3 it's faults when I started Priority Earth. However as much as there was missing from ME3 up till then, it was still a good game with flaws in my mind, until the ending which was the straw that broke the camel's back.
