If they were intending on doing what they did to her, they shouldn't have even made her a possibility in the first place if they didn't want to deal with the inevitable disappointment.CptData wrote...

Anyone who says that Ashley/Kaidan/Garrus/Liara/Tali got abandoned by Bioware is kidding themselves.
This.
Wheres my morinth and shiala?
(Jack got screen time, but not as much as i would have liked)
I mean, Samara got a full story arc. Morinth doesn't - and since no one recognizes her on board PLUS she fills the same role in the endgame, Morinth is "just" a reskinned Samara, a renegade option.
In ME3, the writers didn't even pretend to give her a story.
Shiala is different, but so is Giana Parasini for instance.
Don't try to justify something Bioware did wrong simply because it's not something that affects you.

I sometimes think this as well. All the herp derp auto-dialogue really rustles my jimmies.
I'd say Miranda, but since she was actually on the game, I'll go with Kal'Reegar. He didn't deserve an email death.

Imagine if all the characters were given the amount of screen time and development as Liara? Oh lord, what a crowning achievement that would have been.
ME3 would have lasted more than Skyrim and costed as a Michale Bay summer blockbuster. Some things are just out of reach.
But I think asking for 10 minutes instead of 5 for a ME2 character is not asking too much.

But what do you expect. You had too much characters in the second game. They were with you only becaus of one reason - to get the collectors. They did it and now they have their own life to deal with. Did you really expected that all of them would be back in the same way.
What would be the point of Samara getting back to Shepard? She has her own responsibility as a matriarch, as an asari and as mother.
Zaaed you paid for him - what do you expect. Why would he come back to Shepard. Same with Kasumi. And I liked her quest in ME3. But is there is no logical reason for her to come back to Normandy. She is still fighting the Reapers but in her own way.
Same with Grunt - let him be with the krogan, the kid deserves to get laid.
And people never liked Jacob so I am glad he got some story.
Those characters had no purpose in a bigger story - those who had they got their storyline back (Legion, Mordin, Thane, Miranda in a bit). But the others were just subplots.
Only thing I am not happy with is Miranda. She should be with you when you assault the Cerberus base. That was her place, that robot thing has no reason to be there.
Edit: Just remembered Joker. He was amazing character I really loved that guy. His story had a great potential (especially with Shep dying for him). But no. They had to make him into a cliched character who completely lost his inner drive and what he was left with was a funny annoying persoality as the guy with the disease who wants to bang metallic fembot. Seriously? All this cliche just to make us like Synthesis. As if we didn´t know systhetics are good. I serisouly liked that guy, now I have problem to talk to him.

Miranda, every character has their own thing going on, I can accept that. And I thought expect for Morinth, which I don't care about at all, the cameos were sweet. Miranda was so important for the plot in ME2, so I expected more .... not the whole sister storyline again.
It's completly irrelevant if Miri is alive, not like Kasumi. .oO
I mean, wtf, a DLC character is more important then one of the main protagonists in ME2? Really?
And Jack, there can never be enough Jack. xD

There's nothing justifying the treatment of most ME2 characters (including Morinth), 'though the entire option to make her available as squadmate was a no-brainer, tbh. The existence of Morinth as squadmate is a concession to renegade players, nothing else.
Well, I once had a dream, before ME3 came out.sUiCiDeKiNgS13 wrote...

In very short words: in that dream, the player was allowed to recruit freely his squadmates, 'though only 8 were allowed and 4 of those 8 places were given to mandatory squadmates: Liara, Vega, Ashley/Kaidan, EDI. The other 4 places are free to pick, so you can have Miranda, Samara, Jack, Jacob, Grunt, whoever you want - and those get full story arcs, one mission each designed for them (you still can get ALL missions in one playthrough by switching squadmates) and so on.
Obviously this isn't possible with limited time and money to develop this game, but actually, it would have been the fair and perfect solution. YOU are the captain and YOU decide who's on your ship. Well, at least in those 4 cases.
That "pushing Liara in our faces" makes a lot of people angry.Mr Massakka wrote...

Well, I'm not angry or mad at Liara, I just don't like her anymore since she simply gets too much attention by the staff. Jeez, she's not THAT special. Out of the bunch of misfits, she's a quite normal, boring one - the same qualities, ppl hated Jacob for in ME2.

and they release the backstory of Liara. That exact character that is already pushed in your face in the game.
How about fixing something broken, before you push the successful even more...? There are so much more interesting things to tell between ME2 and 3 than the struggles of the blue alien everyone seems to love.
Then again, I am glad Walters did not touch Miranda...

We'll just have to deal with headcanon and fancreation content (ffics, fan comics, etc), because it's clear that bw doesn't give a damn about their fanbases (unless they only have eyes for the dextro team or the blue pet)..

You either go with what the majority likes or you are left behind. It's not like they would even try to satisfy the others.

In my case: missing stuff of Ash mentioned in the leaked files.
Or why she became a Lieutenant Commander.
What she did in the last two years. Seriously - that stuff is interesting & important to those guys who romanced her! Same for Kaidan, by the way. Two years to cover by at least one or two dialogues.
No, not in this game.
I can see why no one is creating a comic featuring Ashley or Kaidan since one of both is always dead in everyone's playthrough, so you won't get full attention for both comics. Guess that's nearly the same reason why there are also no post-ME2 comics featuring Miranda, Jacob and whoever ... since those characters could be dead ...
And Miranda's story ... sorry. I still don't get it why she didn't get a similar treatment like Mordin - he had a decent story, a really good role fitting to him and solving his story arc in a really good way. Yes, you're sad he has to die, but he dies a heroic death. His contribution to the war is worth the points of the Krogans AND Turians alike.
And Miri? Her contribution to the war is 25 points worth. She appears now and then and her only concern is her sister (again), while the galaxy falls apart. Sure, family comes first, but shouldn't Miranda have a more prominent role in that war? Like leading her own (rogue) Cerberus operation, supporting Shepard and Hackett in some way? So much potential wasted.
She even could have worked with Jacob - no need to waste his character the way BW did in the third game.
Actually, if I had been a writer of ME3, I would have found a decent plot for every ME2 character - even those I do like less.

I think they blew out their budget on MP and those gawdawful animes they insist on creating. Oh and the comics, of course.
God forbid they actually dedicate a huge portion of the budget to, well, the SP game the series was based on.

So many characters they could explore and they choose Liara again. Why can't we get a comic about how Zaeed started the Blue Suns which culminates with him being betrayed? Or what the VS was doing for two years? How about a comic that goes into greater depth on how Garrus managed assemble his own team and to ****** off three merc groups. Or the story of Samara vs. Nihlus (spelling?).Mr Massakka wrote...
