It's pretty easy to come up with a reason for every single squad member to be removed from the ship and be replaced by an entirely new character, but it doesn't matter, because it wouldn't go over well with fans if they did.

More importantly, it doesn't matter because certain characters WERE introduced, others WEREN'T given as much to do, and what's done is done. No amount of whining and moaning about it now is going to make the slightest bit of difference. It's as pointless as those STILL calling for the endings to change.

Miranda ... romanced here in ME2 because she was the only female I feld connected to.

Now ME3: "Hi Shepard, you know we used to date but now I need your help and money. Why? I cannot tell you because it is of my sister you saved last game and i don't trust you anymore you know" ...

Jesus we managed the suicide mission and now she behaves like she never knew me at all...

Great comeback!

I know the OP says Ash doesn't count... But that's really unfair. Ashley should never be mentioned in the same breath as Liara --  not when it comes to content equality in the Mass Effect serise. Sure, she was in the squad -- after missing half of the games main story missions. And once she returned, Bioware gave her almost no Normandy banter. Plus, much of her personal story is recycled stuff from ME1 and ME2. The only thing new they gave her was a promotion to LT.Cmmdr. and a promotion to Spectre agent. But nothing was done with that.

So while she may not have been as badly screwed over as some of the ME2 squadmates. There is no denying that, of the squadmates in ME3, Bioware clearly screwed Ash the most. And the worst part? They know that they did. But they don't care at all.

My dream squad was Shepard, Miranda and Ashley. And it never happened. They would have been unstoppable.

Mass effect 3 had so many possibilies, but they did not take them. Wasted opportunities I call it, they could have done so much with this game. EA did not rush them like everyone thinks, even ea aren't stupid enough to make a crap game like that. Come on, most of the games they release are better than this, it came down to the decisions the directors of the game made and it ultimately lead to what the game became. I was just disappointed at the way the game was marketed as an RPG when it wasn't truly an RPG. Our choices didn't matter and our decisions as a player led to nothing. But I'm getting off track.

Everyone got screwed over, including the characters by poor decisions. (Minus Liara, I reckon she had more lines than Shepard sometimes),.

I didn't even see Samara in ME3. And what they did for Morinth was terrible, they just made her an extra.

Eh, Miranda could have had a much, much more involved plot in ME3. That said, objectively, I can't complain much considering that after Citadel, she arguably has the best (in terms of overall content) romance with Male Shepard.

Otherwise, what character do I think got left to rot... There's lots of them...

Revan, Bastila, Carth, Canderous, Jolee Bindo, HK-47, T3-M4. Juhani, Zaalbar, and Mission weren't interesting.

I suppose Tallis from DA:II. I hope she has more of a story, and I wish we had the ability to have a full romance with her for Hawke.

And for Mass Effect? There's plenty; that's where most characters got screwed in favor of Liara and the Dextro's. I'd say... FemShep was the most screwed over character.
