You aren't supposed to be good at everything. Shepard gets five weapons because he's basically a one-man army, and it takes a toll on your recharge.

Have to agree with this. Although I've never played platinum, so maybe it is that much harder to get to an ammo crate. But still, you have the thermal clip packs.

Um... More weaps on load out would be cool and all, but not for the reason you listed. The answer to the issue of ammo that you posed is thermal clip packs. Which I really only ever use for the grenade refill. Besides most of these maps are so small that you are never really that far from an ammo crate if you run and gun, and most camp spots have an ammo crate or 2 just a few steps away.
Four Geth Primes close enough to be a threat = nuke worthy situation. Or if I am out of nukes and have burned through my ammo packs, arc grenade the floor in the middle of the primes so I can run past them upstairs. There are just so many different ways to handle a situation like that that another weapon will probably not make or break the match. Sure it would be cool for a specific stagger weapon, a ranged weapon, and a close weapon, but that is really the only reason I can think of to carry more than two weapons. Usually you don't even need to carry more than one, even on Platinum.

Running out of ammo should not be a problem.
i have good reason it should be. in SP i constantly run out of the ammo when i fight bad guys, i tend to empty it all out on them fast. same happened to me on MP, they were basically like, "dude you just pumped him full of lead"
but yeah, you get the idea.
Edit: oh you mean the clips on left side of Dpad button, i don't use it LOL

Not even having the option to go over 2 weapons is a slap in the face to good Soldiers everywhere. 4 weapons to 4 weapons + Heavy weapons to 2 weapons and a coupon for a Rocket Launcher use. How far we've fallen...

We also get that special pause time menu on PC except it doesnt pause time at all and leaves us vulnerable. There is no reason the xbox ring and whatever PS3 use could not be implemented the same way and im quite sure it is already.

IN ME1 characters were allowed several weapons but most of them were on proficient in pistols only or shotgun only...you could train them for other weps but what was teh point.
in ME2 Thermal clips were pretty much scarce and sometimes hard to find and yo run out quick (if you play insanity and not noob casual) so yeah i can see the use of all weapons + heavy.
ME3 is well balanced at how easy its gotten for the 5 year old that play it and cant handle normal.

We have that in MP sure, by pressing Shift (on my PC at least). But consoles apparently don't have that button or whatever, I've never heard a good excuse as to why, but apparently console people have no button to bring it up in MP.
And what's Lore got to do with the number of weapons we can carry? No matter how specshul Shepard is in Lore, his armor isn't some kind of super-fantastical-Ultra-Rare model, he just bothers to have the option to cart around other weapons.
Most players don't even use two weapons, true. It's their right to do so. But the fact we don't even have the CHOICE to take more than 2, even on classes that had double that in every other game.... yeah so where's the justification again?
Introducing the weight system + taking Soldier Ammo Powers + limiting weapons to 2 max is why MP Soldiers are pretty horrible. I played nothing but Soldiers across 3 games, got to MP then immediatly dumped them after my first few games they're that different from how they used to be.
Destroyer Soldier is what they all should be like, but he's considered Ohpee. Figures.
Note: I will say that wanting a 3rd weapon (how can you count the Rocket Lancher, it's a consumable item?) just to fall back on isn't a great idea.... there's very few times that you'll ever use up all the ammo from TWO weapons to begin with. Try using the extended mag/clip mods or actually using the
3rd weapons should be available as optional for Soldiers who want to have horrid cooldowns. -200% cooldown Krogan Soldier needs to be good at something...

Running out of ammo is almost impossible and in most cases it´s better to run away instead of switching from a SR to a SMG or something.
The only Char that can make good use of two powerful weapons is the Destroyer and even he can cover all needs with 2 weapons (eg Thyphoon + Reegar or Indra + Piranha)

It's only being brought up because part of your arguement for why they should be in the game is because you want something to fall back on if you use up both other weapons ammo. Which is frankly a LOT of ammo to begin with, and refusing to go to an ammo box/not using an clip pack consumable isn't really a good enough excuse.
