Honestly I don't look at it that way. People don't know what they don't know. I wouldn't know it if I dind't look at the forums. and why should they believe me? i'm a random person they don't know over XBL.

A random person they don't know, that is probably a better player and knows more about the game.

Maybe it's just a rare trait in people, but back when I was new to MP when a better player would speak up in a lobby, or make a post on the forum giving advice, I was always inclined to pay attention to it.

Of course, but it's the unwillingness to learn that I find baffling.  Plenty of people say "oh I didn't know that, thanks" when I point something out like ULM.  Just as many disagree or argue and then assume I don't know what the heck I'm talking about, ever, and behave accordingly.

me too, but not eveyrone is like that. I still lsiten to better players and i'm well beyond a season vet. gollum gave me some builds to try and I did. if it wasn't for him i'd still dislike the slayer. now i love it. but most casual players don't care. they wanna hop on, do what they do, not care if they contribute and complain about their geth plasma shotgun 1 in the SP they didn't even earn. I'm sued to it so It just beocmes a joke to me now

If it weren't for these forums, I wouldn't be nearly as good at the game.  Builds, videos and tips that people posted back during the first couple of months helped me a ton.  And then there's all the data about what's broken, what works, hidden bonuses and modifiers, etc.   So yeah, totally agreed.

The only problem I see with that statement is you running into a player better than yourself. If you are the best who do you listen to god, harbinger, or perhaps starchild because his logic is undeniable.

Ahhh, yes I added you after that. I can't imagine his library's wifi is as bad as the internet at my school's library. Trying to load even the front page of wiki there between 10 AM and 6PM is...well, worse than trying to download porn back in the mid-90s. My 3G phone gets better speed.
