BSN celebrities, as in people who have way too much time on their hands and waste it playing a video game?
Not sure if it's something to be proud of, in all honesty...
If I was one of the people mentioned in this forum, I wouldn't be too happy about it.
If you meant BioWare staff, on the other hand, then unfortunately I haven't met any one of them in-game.

One thing you will find in life is that people spend their time and or money on various things hobby wise that others will think is fooliosh or excessive.  With intimate details of almost anyones life you could pick out an activity and wonder how 'they wasted so much time or money' on it.

I suppose that's understandable, but I just wanted to voice my opinion on this matter. Don't get me wrong, I love ME3 MP and I spend alot of time playing it, but it's not something I'm truly proud of, since it's not productive for me. All it does is hurt my eyes, make me move less and, at times, make me lose contact with people around me.

I also play with roughly the same about 20 people or so. we know each other all really well. did a ME3 drinking game, and our in game conversations are rarely related to in game. We joke around about stuff have funny conversations etc. Its no different to me then when i got to a poker game at a friends house and were joking with eahc other the whole time while playing. I honestly probably wouldn't play half as much if i was only doing PUGs and people had no mics

Celebrities... eh, no. I wouldn't call them that anyway. I have played a Gold match with stfudonnie (I'm probably remembering that wrong) and hope I wasn't too awful. Played a Bronze match with Tallgeese the other day. I think we were just levelling after promotions.

Exactly.  How many people spend hours of their freetime watching television, reading bad/trashy novels, playing golf, mindlessly surfing the internet, scrapbooking, etc.

Once in awhile, I catch some crap for the amount of video games I play.  I usually just start methodically quizzing the person about how much TV they watch, how many hours of their lives they have spent watching sports, whether they watch reality TV.  Very few Americans actually think about the amount of time they spend wasting time.

Pretty sure I met you in a random lobby when I was playing with RedBlitz. Had no idea you were on the forum.

The only BSN person I recall running into was Robarcool(Unless you use a different name in game, then some guy on Origin stole your name).

I also played with one of the Bioware guys a very long time ago. I'm pretty sure it was Chris Priestly(I remember the origin name, but can't remember which Bioware employee I was told it was).

No, that is the same Robarcool, I used to play with him a lot, but the game hasn't let us be in the same lobby for a few months now.

That's because parking one's ass in front of a television to watch Jersey Shore is "normal".  Duh.

I would have left the game around the time Earth came out if my wife hadn't sarted playing it.  Sitting next to eachother on the couch, carrying PuGs, coordinating, watching eachother's backs, screwing around.  That's what has made the end game (post max-rares) worth it to me.

I wish other people could find that kind of joy in it.

I don't think that's a cultural thing. I think if you're fortunate enough to live in a country where you can afford to just hang out and waste time, you probably don't realize how much time has been wasted.

I mostly just read the forums rather than post replies or topics. Though less often than before since the topics are repetitive and pessimistic in nature.

Yup. I don't watch alot of TV or movies at this point. nothing interest me (except football, finally football seaosn is here) but thats only 1 day a week really. I don't watch other sports, or reality TV. there are only a few shows i watch and i DVR them for when i have time and usually watch while doing other stuff.

I do play golf though so I wouldn't call it time wasting. its fun and relaxing.

There are BSN celebrities?  What are they famous for?
And clearly not famous enough.

So posting a lot on the forums makes you a celebrity? That made me laugh. I never bother to look at anyone's username when I'm playing random matches because I simply could not care less.

I wouldn't say i'm a celeberty by any means but I think the OP was kinda using it more as liek there are people taht psot alot so their GTs are probably recognizable by people.

I have had ranoms in PUGs ask If i was the guy from the forums, I have had people on the forums FR me and send me PMs tahking for advice and asking If they could play with me. I do my best to accomdate all fo them. I wouldn't call myself a celeberuty at all but I would say i'm pretty well known amongst forumites , mostly cause i post alot and I try to give good avice instead of talking down and inciitng arguments

Well, that's kind of your loss dude. Nothing wrong with being a tiny bit social and seeing who you've played with. It is Bioware SOCIAL Network after all.

I've often been curious about if I've played with people on here. It's not because I could not care less that I don't remember, I just play a lot of PUGs

Ha, I actually golf as well, though probably less now as my main golfing buddy just moved to Houston.  College basketball is my sport of choice.  The NFL the last couple of years just hasn't been particularly interesting to me.  Though that has a lot to do with my apathy about the Chiefs.

Nevermind celebrities...I don't know if I've ever encountered someone from the message board in a game. I play a lot of PUG's so you'd think I'd encounter BSN people at some point.

It's good to know that there are people who are willing to help others and contribute to making other people's gaming experiences better.

Much like Slayin said, it isn't that they're necessarily considered special; they're recognizable. In a community where you have thousands of players, you are always going to have those who stand out.

"Celebrity" in the sense of this post refers to one's ability to be recognized. This is something I became aware of on the now shutdown Chromehounds. The tMc in my gamertag was instantly recognized amongst players of that game. My clanmates and I were celebrities of a sort there due to our common appearance in the Free Battle mode and our builds. That game had several "celebrities" as the game matured; some liked and others that weren't.

Let's face it. Some posters here on BSN have a certain amount of "celebrity".

Upinya Slayin, Beerfish, Jack Crapper, DNC Protoman, etc.

Have you run into any of these well known BSN'ers in your humble lobby?

PS. I met Jack Crapper last week. He doesn't sound anything like his avatar.

I've played with that dude, too.  He was a real jerk, but I do agree that his voice is way sexier than I imagined.
What's your GT?

Before joining Team Arelex, I did receive the highest honor of playing with Killahead, whose gameplay is as provocative as his posts and his stance on nerfs, politics, religion and abortion.

I also got to play with Holdenagincourt and Defleshing.  All were good players.

Since joining Arelex, I've played with Arelex, Slimjim, Geekfest, Goosh, Ashen, among others.

When you use the term "celebrity," I've always pictured people like Descy.  I feel a little weird about being thrown in there, since most of my posts are nothing but nonsensical ramblings.  I hope I didn't play terribly.

GT in sig. You played well, wish I could say the same.
