Did you know campers were the first to go in **** Germany?

Actually, as the World Wars saw the dawn of trench warfare, one might say that most soldiers in them were campers as they dug cover that they could use and then shot at other people who had dug cover that they could use.

Did you know that the British who were stuck in the old mindset of not taking cover and just sending a line of guys up against another line of guys lost a whole lot of battles against the americans who had learned from the natives that hiding behind trees and then shooting people tended to be a very good strategy against people who didn't take cover?

wow... using ww1 tactics.....

im sure they worked well in ww2 or even today

Maybe, maybe not. They certainly work in ME3 mp, however, and that's what has some players acting all butthurt. They view themselves as elite, and can't stand that "lesser" players can be every bit as successful as they are. Personally, I think they just need to grow up and deal with it. They play how they want, and others can play how they want. There is no one right or wrong strategy/build/etc. There's only what works for you.

Does the map shows 4 personal vs 10 platoon of well arm army?

Your argument contains one fatal flaw. Campers aren't "defending passively". They're luring the enemy into an ambush, and raining down fire on them as soon as they enter the kill box. Huge difference between that and trying to string out your troops in a vain effort to defend a huge front. In that case, you give the initiative to the attacker. They can pick their point of attack and the ground they wish to fight on, while the defender is left rushing to move troops into position in the combat zone. Campers, on the other hand, pick the battle ground, are dug in behind cover, and know where the enemy will be while the enemy is forced to scout out their position. So, campers have even more initiative than the attackers in the scenario you're discussing.

And this map is not a scenario of 4 personal vs 10 platoon (WAVE)

Okay, I have not been playing that long... BUT... I learned the game from players with N7's of 10K+ and 9K+... All we play is platinum AND complete 85-90% of matches... I can't see how running around with 4 players can take out 4 Banshees, 2 GP's, and the assorted RT and pyros.(we always play Geth enemy). We play the roving teams if we choose to play silver so we can level up a recently promoted character... BUT the serious runs require "camping" we call it shooting from a defensive position with cover. To each his own playing style I guess,,,, But a roving squad on FBW at platinum with Geth enemies? Has not worked once for me...

LOL. Campers don't move, they sit in one place, it's an epitome of passive defense. Enemy doesn't flank them, doesn't even try to encircle them. They can't even get past glitched counter. Geth, the most popular enemy of campers don't use grenades. In short, campers are sitting ducks. Anyone who can't see it is blind or just dumb.

This map shows Soviet counter-offensive at Stalingrad in 1942, when hundreds of thousands Germans were encircled and annihilated near and in Stalingrad.

Why make this thread? I'm not about to go running around with a demolisher?? It's a legitimate strategy.

I'll take an effective camper over a run-and-gun poster child for medigel. Snark aside, I've seen both types of play do well. For me, like most things, it depends on the situation; class also plays into it. As a QFE and QFI I tend to roam around a lot, but if I can hold a line somewhere I will. My Demolisher does better camping, but I'll be right up there in the thick of it doing objectives when the time comes.

Why not run around yourself while your team camps? It can work just fine and you get to enjoy running and gunning.

Uh okay...  You realize this happened after the Germans had all their logistic chains severed right?  Plus the germans did not have Biotic Powers and could not revive fallen soilders by smashng the A button...  I think trying to bring in anything but a few highly limited small squad tactics into this game is a bit of a stretch don't you?  I mean I can't even call in arty or air support.

Im tired of plat runs on glacier whereas soon as the game loads, 1 to 2 morons make a bee line for the control room.  We need to start frap'ing games on how to play MP without cowering in a corner

Played with two campers last night on U/U/G. I play U/U/G so I don't have to camp to be a team player; these two (who were quite nice, if not a bit stubborn - camping on Glacier, for example, which is just stupid) seemed to know every semi viable camp spot on every map. What's the point, though? If you're going to camp, throw on some gear and play FBWCP - it's more rewarding, and a lot faster.

Because real N7s put their lives and the mission at risk unnecessarily. They might fail the mission and lose their lives, but at least they can say "I ran around in the open while getting shot by Primes, warped by Banshees, set on fire by pyros, shreded by turrets, snuck up on by Hunters, and blasted by hand cannons. True story." if they survive.

Anywho, it's cool if you camp, cool if you run around. One is safer, one is faster. Doesn't really matter so long as things work out,.

Safer?  When two banshees enter your lil nursery.... People die left and right... Oh but rezzing is ok for you guys there...

Also, if bw fixed that lil cover blocks banshees trick, what would you guys do then?

Prolly make a forum post about how bw ruins everything

Interesting. Might I ask who your refering to with "you guys"? From where i'm sitting, sounds like unnecessary butthurt to me. Ya know, "I go into public lobbys and am angry when people go to the well known spot for hunkering down. Better make a thread".

As for the first, yes, safer. Focus fire still works pretty darn well at killing Banshees not to mention the 20 rockets you have. If people die to a Banshee, they're not getting rezed, so I don't know what that last bit means.

Glacier control room camping has no cover beyond the sides of the room. I don't think Bioware fixing that will do anything.

control room does glitch.... i posted it before... people hug the wall that is left of the door. banshees will not come into the room.  They also do this so the geth pyros dont go in the room as well and fire harmlessly into the wall.

thus all the lil ballerina biotic waves going thru the wall can kill the banshees/pyro's without one of them stepping foot into the room

Please read my first response; as this states the flaw in using your example to counter the original premise.
I'm not trying to anagonize you.  Your counter to the argument has no relevance and is not a logical answer as you and the originator of the statement both tried to apply "real life tactics" to this game...

Again.... "I think trying to bring in anything but a few highly limited small squad tactics into this game is a bit of a stretch don't you?"

Wow. That seems pretty effective then. Really safe then. Safer, yet slower than going to spawns and clearing up.
