You would think that the DLC would be up on EA's own service, if not first, then at least at the same time as on the 360.
Exactly.

It would cost EA an awful lot of money if they ignored Microsofts "We want it first" card.

I wasn't aware that Microsoft paid anything for any sort of timed exclusive DLC for Mass Effect 3. If they did they are getting ripped off since it's only a few hours.Niblix wrote...

Of course it's only a few hours but I genuinely don't see why since Mass Effect 3 is an EA game and that it is distributed exclusively through EA's own distribution service (Origin), why they can't get it up at least as the same time as Microsoft.

Basically, Microsoft want exclusivity. They want everything first so they threaten publishers, waving their wallet in front of them

Except they didn't do that. I assumed the first few were joking, but the amount of people that are actually saying this is confusing me really badly.
Then I remembered some people are dumb and all was well.
(Also, waving their wallet would be the opposite of threatening. That's more of a bribe - but whatever, I'm going to just pretend you're being sarcastic.)

Losing EA as a publisher would hurt Microsoft a lot more than giving up a few hours of supposed exclusivity.
I know Chris mentioned that this is just how they put things out, and fair enough we have to accept that. However Origin isn't well thought of as it is, so I can't see this delay on releasing things, behind a console, improving the PC gamers perception of it.

Losing EA as a publisher might hurt MS a little, but losing the Xbox as a platform would pretty much kill EA.
