Quite easily actually, just have to be very direct. We got along great and he loves paintings.

Treat him like a common soldier as a Grey Warden commander should and tell anyone that comes up to you saying "OMG I lost my baby" to ****** off. If you do anything not critical to defeating the darkspawn or take a more difficult path because its "Morally" right, he's going to dislike you.

Alright hints not working - if you want spoilers................





Keep all dialogues under 3 lines if possible. Many short conversations are way better than one long one. He likes all the artwork/paintings you find. He has a personal quest to find his lost sword, which will totally complete him at hello, and you shouldn't take him with you when you want to do goody-goody quests like finding lost boys or sacred ashes.

I wonder if I let him kill Zevran if I'd get a +10. Maybe he could get Alistair while he's at it. Where's my dialogue option of "Persuade:'Alistair stole your sword and wiped his nethers all over it.'"?

Well, he liked you enough to give you the quest, what are you upset about? Did you expect him to quote you poetry like Zevran or give you a rose like Alistair?

I found him to always be up for some discussion. Odd.

Bring him with you the first time you go to places, this will give him a lot more dialog.
