Leviathan didn't take control of Harbinger or anything! What was the point?

So Harbinger and the Leviathans could get your $10 and not give it back.

It was all a ruse.

So at the point that he's needed most, Leviathan just does sweet **** all?

I doubt an organic Reaper has an eezo core that allows it to survive in vacuum .

I think I die a little too.

I'm sorry. I was proven right today to think the catalyst as being a shackled synthetic doing what it's programed to do.

Sorry, but everything you said about me is pointless.

I was saying much the same as you (Minus the I.T. nonsense), in the same thread I believe, anyone who's read any Azimov can understand why the Catalyst kicked off the cycle.

That said, I believe they are referring to your spelling and grammar.

so. let me get this straight. the leviathans came first then their "thralls" created synthetics to kill them and then the leviathans created the AI program "the catalyst" in order to find a solution against these synthetics so the catalyst made the reapers by harvesting leviathans and splicing them with synthetics in order to preserve life? is that right?

Aka, the cycle stated way before the catalyst.
Also, it proves the catalyst is a shackled AI doing what it's programed to do.

I'll stick around this thread until the first couple of posters finish watching the epilogue slides, then I'll duck out as the forum explodes with renewed nerdrage vigor.

Why can't we all just get along and accept that Bioware made everything too vague and messy?
I don't see what we accomplish by squabbling over how people interpret the ending.

So, we find space cthulhu, who wants our company very much, then we tell them to get rid of the reapers, they say okay, give us stuff to indoctrinate the indoctrinated reaper forces and... we still have to do what the brat says... why, exactly?
Here we have the perfect weapons to deal with the Reapers, and we're still subjected to the whims of a badly programmed AI.
Also, why did the Leviathans lose if they could just use the "off switch"?
Also, how did Leviathans manage to live this long?

so the leviathans willingly made themselves the reapers to preserve life with this AI that we come to know as the catalyst?

They did not make it vague now. We now know and have proof the catalyst is a shackled AI.

No, they dissagreed with how  the catalyst saw how to doit's programing.

Well that does depend on the definition of "shackled". If that means "artificial limitations on action but not cognition" (As EDI seem to allude to) then no, but if it means "Fundimental components of the AI's motivation and cognative processes" (Like the 3 laws in an Azimovian Positronic Brain) then yes.

How large is a Leviathan compared to a capital ship?

Small. Leviathan is roughly the same size as the Normandy.

Because the problem is withthe catalyst. The don't have an off switch for it. We also don't no the full conditions of their war with the catalyst nor the range of their control.

So from the little reading I did Leviathan DLC = Shepard goes on a magical adventure to look for super space aliens that'll save the day and ends up finding some talking rocks... Also gets stuff that's in MP and dominate. No new people on the cruise for harbingers death lasers.

Did Harbinger even tell us how much we sucked anywhere in the DLC? I miss that...

Someone please tell me I'm reading this wrong:

1) Organic space cuttlefish can mind control.
2) Their slaves go crazy and start making robots to kill them.
3) Instead of ordering them to stop, they make an extremely stupid AI program with circular logic.
4) They are turned on by the stupid AI they created and fall to its forces
5) They retreat and plot dr claw style to get revenge someday, however they are lazy and dont do anything.
6) We see them crush a reaper with their mind flay powers, and then they join the war assets in a black hole.

If that's right, why the hell didn't they just mind flay the Reapers to begin with and blow up the stupid AI?

Lol. Well I'm beginning to feel like I'm the only user on BSN who legitimately did not expect anything beyond an expansion of the conversation with the Catalyst (which those of us who read the leaked files already knew about) and watching posters pop in asking where the other stuff is, the other stuff I figured we weren't getting, is a very BSN flavor of nutty.

I won't argue it'd be nice, but I like EC well enough right now. I was kinda hoping for a Leviathan-versus-Harbinger, Final-Destination, No-Items, Reapers-Only sorta melee, but oh well.

Seems like they try to reduce the hatred for the catalyst by changing him into a simple machine without own mentality.

Accept the catalyst says you're wrong.

Shepard: So you're an AI?
Catalyst: In so much as you are just an animal.

He outright says he is beyond being an AI. So please try again.
