But hearing that it's not all that great, and seeing that it doesn't look all that great on YouTube; I probably won't buy it.
Plus c'mon, Leviathan looks lame. He's probably only the size of the Normandy.

What? so far the few people who call it "bad" are the ones reading it's spoilers. I've finished this DLC twice and it's ALMOST as good as LotSB.

Is the ending affected at all? We were told it would have an effect on the ending.

You get an extra line from the Catalyst

Seriously?
I was expecting something for Shepard to argue with the Catalyst about, concerning Leviathan. I was expecting at least like 4 to 5 added lines....

Argueing about what? What is the point with argueing with a shackled AI?

You get one option on the dialogue wheel and it adds nothing you did not already know.

Nothing.

Feeling that sick feeling I get whenever I see Liara's image fizzle out after she explains they lost and the credits start, like this is somehow a valid excuse for an ending. There's nothing.

I can not recommend this DLC. It has some good ideas, but they're sadly ideas that have already been done. The Mech suit, but in another location, even if it is a cool one. The bit with EDI investigating the lab was great, too bad she gets nuked in Destroy, and it's just a rip of of Liara's apartment, even if the dialogue is amusing.

The characters introduced are weak at best, and they try too hard to be deep or emotional like with the ****ign Vent kid, only this time with Ann. And it falls so flat. The acting is atrocious, the dialogue is poor, and we ultimately do not care because we do not know the woman.

Hell, I feel more attachment to Grace Sato and Aethyta, and they didn't get their own DLC.

As for the Leviathans, they are an utter disappointment. They look like mini reapers made of coral. Finding Leviathan was interesting, but everything after he first enters the screen just goes downhill. No mention of the Catalyst, they just skip right over it's relevence to the Crucible (even though they know of the Crucible and have had plenty of time to obtain the plans for themselves once the Reapers retreated). Another plot hole. It feels like the entire point of the plot is to justify or rationalize and explain the Catalyst further. Again, it falls flat. Plotholes and idiot logic are the name of the game. And for some reason, the Leviathans can think a Reaper to death, or enslave it or whatever. Which begs to question how they lost the war in the first place, or why they can't do that to every Reaper.

Worst of all are the implications for the future. Leviathan ends abruptly with NO choices. You do not get to choose whether you even want Leviathan's help. You can not elect to destroy it, which would be a wise course of action given that these beings once conquered the galaxy with their simple PRESENCE. It's especially bad for Destroy, because with the Reapers gone, there is nothing to really stop them from doing this again.

All in all? I'm not impressed. Here, there is none of the character of Shadow Broker, none of the satisfaction of Bring down the Sky, none of moral questioning of Overlord, and none of the novelty of Arrival. Leviathan is devoid of charm and character, lacks coherence, has absolutely no impact on anything, and any implications that arise are forced and only add to the futility of the endings. I feel as though I just sat through several hours of Mac and Casey trying to shove my face in crap and convince me it smells good. I am left only with a desire to vomit.

That is my subjective opinion, take it for what it is. I am glad I was able to bring breaking information to you guys, thank you for giving me the opportunity.

Appreciate the re-cap and your thoughts!

"Each formed in Harbinger's image"... retcons, they just simply love them. Instead of changing textures they retcon things. How lazy is that?

Umm, actually the Catalyst implies this in the Extended Cut before Leviathan was released.

Not so literal, the retcon is still there though.

Not literal?
"If fire burn, is it at war, in conflit, or is it doing what it's programed to do...We(catalyst/reapers) are no different"

And then it tells you he is being forced.

The dlc is just bw bluntly stating it for the people who did not get it can get it.
This is not a retcon. Just you being late getting it.

What in the name of muffins does this have to do with every Reaper looking like a copy of each other?

Now, your killing my neurons.

They don't, their shells just looks exactly the same, Harbinger, most likely, doesn't have a shell, he's the perfect reaper.

Actually, Riptide is pretty against it now, after all. As with many players, I have a hunch the impact on the endings will mean the most, because it's what the fandom has fixated on since March 6th. Since I didn't expect anything on that end, I'll probably enjoy the DLC more, but I won't be playing it on my current file until after I get Kaidan back, so it'll be a while with things as they are for me right now.

as it seems bioware is trying hard to justify the synthesis ending. I bet that the next 2 dlcs will give insights foreshadowing how synthesis is the inevitable whatever.

As I said in another thread(twilight god's theory ) IT'S JUST A GAME. They can make it do whatever they want. They completely forgetting the whole lore.I'm starting to believe that there is REALLY NOTHING ELSE OUT THERE.

Reason were are fixated on the endings is because we were told we'd get easter eggs for the ending. One line of dialogue is not an easter egg. Another lie from Bioware.

Actually only 4

The "tail-like" "reaper" is most likely a processor (and mentioned in the ME3 codex) and is present as a hologram in one of the Cerberus bases in ME3

The "Wide mouth" reaper is most likely a transport and does have an ingame model in BioD_N7Spdr1_500

If they try to push Synthesis during Omega, I'll be pretty impressed at the shear disconnect of it all.

How many times will Bioware say that the endings are the end before people actually think, "Hey, maybe Bioware isn't changing the endings?"

How is that not an easter egg? easter eggs are small and subtle, not big and game changing.

I didn't expect it to have hardly any impact on the ending either, just a few lines. But I was mainly interested to see if Leviathan looked awesome and if the gameplay looked good. And neither of those things seemed appealing to me. Particularly Levithan.. who just looks like a giant rock.

To be clear, I was not expecting this DLC to "fix" the endings. I utterly despise the endings from a literary, as well as a personal standpoint.  I did not honestly expect it to make Refuse viable.

I had secretly hoped, however, it would at least add CONTEXT to the Catalyst and the choices you make. However, it adds nothing. Some meaningless exposition that ultimately amounts to nothing.

Er, an easter egg can be as little as a double meaning of a symbol in a TV show referencing both a fictional corporation and a director's initials. One line of dialogue is, absolutely, an easter egg, and Mike Gamble only ever even let that slip when journalist after journalist hounded him on what level of impact Leviathan would have on the endings.
