Pride cometh before the fall, right? Even for giant rock squid-thingys...

I'm curious...what if this whole Leviathan DLC...what if it IS a setup for future titles in the ME Universe? Who knows, ya know? After you curbstomp the Reapers (or tell them to go...well, you know and then they curb stomp YOU), who will they be to stand against? Peace is great (hoping for world peace myself), but a game about fifty hours of galactic peace probably will do about as well as Kristen Stewart in a monogamous relationship.

Anyone uploaded the catalyst with the leviathan questions yet? I need to go to bed.

It dosen't change much. Shep adds a throwaway line about them and the catalyst gives one back. He even acts surprised when being told about the process of Harbinger's creation.

sigh....

I really enjoyed the DLC.  It's better the Lair, which was the undisputed champ before today.  Keep up the good work and don't let the trolls drag you down.

Back to my self-imposed exile.  I just keep wondering, if all of these people hate this game so much, why are they still here screaming about it?

I used to love True Blood.  Now it's quite possibly the dumbest thing ever, so I stopped watching it.  I don't go to the forums everyday, spamming my hatred.  I just...stopped watching it, and moved on to something I like better.  See?  Simple.

Seriously.

Seek help.

Have a great day! :wizard:

Respectfully?  True Blood continues to suffer.  Possibly because fans are not there to help them course-correct.  Just saying.

After being so disappointed by the end of ME3 I took a look upon the Leviathan DLC in Youtube before spending  10€ for something I might regret.

For me, the ending, the reapers and the whole ME gets more and more confusing…

The Leviathans, 300m large lobster-cuttlefish crossovers, were the apex race, ruling the galaxy but still protecting the lesser species. The lesser species created machines that destroyed them, the Leviathans weren´t able to  protect them.

On the other hand they are able to take over a reaper by their pure will and bring it down.

Ok…

After seeing that the lesser species destroying themselves by creating machines the leviathans had nobody who bend to them. So they created the Starbrat AI to protect life at any costs. But Skynet the AI came to the conclusion that life can only be protected by killing it and turning it into a reaper…

Ok, so the AI is invented before the last 10 min of the games, if you buy that DLC, to calm down gamers…

So it turned against the creators and made the first Reaper, Harbinger, from them. How was the AI able to overwhelm them? Even with the created pawns I cannot believe that an overall mighty race as the Leviathans was easily defeated. Where was Harbinger created? I mean, you have to build a space station and none of the leviathans ever noticed what was going on? Was the Citadel already there? I doubt that the Leviathans were able to use the Citadel.

The Leviathans can control reapers, why can´t they control the AI. The leviathans say, that every cycle ends with the birth of a Reaper. If Harbinger was the first, why didn´t they overtake him like they did with the one attacking the codiak leaving the planet.

When it came to the point where Shepard asks for help, the Leviathans say, that they will fight, but not for Shepard or any lesser species. They were the first, the apex race and the reapers coming to their world will become their slaves.

When you see their power and the arrogance you have to believe that they will come back after the Reapers are destroyed.

So why should anyone use the destroy ending now? With an entire galaxy, heavily destroyed by a war with the  reapers, it will be an easy task for the leviathans to rise again. They have nothing to fear now and with the  fragments already deployed on earth, like it was said in the war assets it would be an easy task for them to  overtake humans.

Only the control ending guarantees that Shepreaper protects the galaxy, while the synthesize ending makes the leviathans become one with everyone else around the galaxy.

My sympathy for ME3 reached almost 0° K

You not getting it.

Leviathan: The intelligence was envisioned as another tool
Shepard:And now we all pay the price of you mistake
Leviathan: There was no mistake. It still serves it's perpose

And on it's programing aka perpose...

Leviathan:  To counter this problem we creater an intelligence with the mandate to perserve life at any cost.

That basicly means  they made a shackled  AI to solve a problem with no limit ever given to how .

The issue is defination. It sees perserving organic life as a reaper as perserving , not killing.

Ah those creators - they saw organics building machines, and the machines turning on them. They had to stop it so .... they built a machine. What a bunch of frigging morons

Well... if you were listening to what the Leviathans said you would understand better...

Maybe the Leviathans decided to create an intelligence to prove to the lesser species (Leviathans thought to be Gods) that Synthetics/AI's/Robots could be friendly and coexist with organics.

Or use it as a tool, like a hammer or wrench in an enormous scale. And also to control all the synthetics that would come forth sooner or later.

The Leviathans were so arrogant.

I understood what he said - he viewed the machine as a tool. A tool that they allowed to evolve, apparently, which pretty much nullifies its "tool" status. I still contend they were morons ... arrogant morons, but still morons

I'm going to get it, and try to enjoy it.

At the very least, it's more of Shepard, Liara and Garrus, and frick if that's not enough to get me excited.

So if Reapers are really in Harb's image... why is the Human Reaper in our image? I know it was unfinished, but still, why make this giant human head with arms, if it's not going to use them?

Of course this entire narrative is inconsistent with the nature of the Reapers in ME1 and ME2. In both, Harbinger delighted in causing you pain and taunted you. It was invested in your destruction and malevolent. Now we are supposed to think they are just galactic street sweepers working dispassionately at the behest of some misguided, twisted AI.

How ridiculous.

It's shackled.

Again, you can't be 100% sure, the Catalyst kills with its little crusade, it goes against its primary directive, if it wasn't unshackled it would be facing and endless logical dilemma because it has to kill to achieve its goal, and to achieve its goal it has to violate its programming.

The very fact that it betrays it's creators is a sign of being unshackled.

If you can figure out how to poke Glowboy's belly button, he self-destructs.  The Leviathan then gives you a shrimp cocktail in a sort of creepy, yet weirdly humorous, tribute to your victocry.

Oh, Star Brat just has a language problem.  When you said "preserve," he thought you were talking about Jams and Jellies--or Pickles!  Imagine an entire trilogy that was once devoted to a huge space drama where you had to develop a series of important alliances and relationships and show courage and respect--all reduced to a simple linguistic misunderstanding!

How epic!
