I thought the DLC was meh. It didn't meet my expectations unfortunately.
The only thing I really wanted to see was dialogue choices and different outcomes because of those choices.
I think BioWare have embraced the straight up story telling a little too much for my taste - so I'll skip this one and keep my fingers crossed for the next one.

I love these lores revelation stories. It makes the rest of the story the whole series so grounded now.
Can't wait to see what's next.

(wait for it...)
BUT
Because I've already played the EC, I just felt like they weren't telling us much of anything we didn't already know. What we did learn just kinda muddled the plot for me even further. Also it seemed like there was suppose to be less incentive to pick Destroy, because once the Reapers are gone the ego-maniacal Levis will dominate us. But nothing outright stated it so it could just be my thinking the worst of BW and them trying to convince everyone Synthesis is the best path.
Overall a decent dlc, but I rank it below Lotsb and Overlord.
All I really want at this point is a more character driven DLC. There isn't much more they can do with the plot. Leave it be and give some of the Me2 squad some love I say.

-Hairstyles pack
-Reunion DLC
-Normandy Cabin poster collection for decoration
-Halloween costumes for all the Reapers
-Team slayer option for multiplayer, one side the good side the other being the Reapers
Is that so much to ask?

So... how come they don't tell you the Reaper AI is on the Citadel? I mean, they should know. They made the AI. Unless it once wasn't on the Citadel. But even then, these guys should know about it. They've been monitoring for years.
The Citadel didn't exist when the Leviathans created the Catalyst; the Reapers created the Citadel. As for how the Catalyst got there, I will not even venture a guess.

Main points:
- I loved the involvement of Edi and Vega in Lab scenes.
-The scenes with Garrus and FemShep (I don't know if they differ with a non-romance) were a fangirl's dream come true. Their romance is referenced throughout, especially in the final mission, and I loved the ambient dialogue on the ship when he says he is worried about her, and also going to get her from the Brutes and the "Don't ever do that again," plus other hints throughout the game play. If they do this with other LI then I think, personally, that they have hit the nail on the head.
- Loved the squad banter.
- The scenes with the controlled workers on the mining station was genuinely creepy, the voice work was brilliant. I got chills down my spine, and the atmosphere was done well.
- The talk with Leviathan - I would have preferred more use of the dialogue wheel, but the way the different characters spoke for Leviathan in that creepy way was well...creepy, powerful, made you feel small, and for me didn't ruin the Reapers "incomprehensible power."
I still feel they are all powerful beings that are currently beyond understanding, and this is a tiny scraping of the surface.
- Combat - less in this game, but I preferred the story elements more for this DLC, as that is what I was looking for - more time with squad mates, banter, exploration, investigating. That said I liked how multiplayer elements were included, such as escorting the droid. Plus I felt I could really rely on my squad mates to watch my back.
That's all I've got for now, still processing it, but overall really enjoyed the game and by the end I wanted to give Bioware a giant hug and thank you for making it. I feel for me that they have included additional elements that weren't so much missing, but expanded upon (more squad banter which was missing from LOTSB, different types of combat).
I want to go back and play it again, just for the sheer hell of it, which for me, is always a good sign!

I enjoyed the hell out of this DLC. In fact, that is a massive understatement - I had a huge grin on my face by the end, and there were many moments throughout I literally bounced in my chair from excitement.

Now I'm looking forward to it. Might actually get Arrival so I have the main pieces of the puzzle. Still uncertain on that though. Was arrival a lot of game play? Story mix with game play? I know the beginning commentary of ME3 changes based on that, but was there a decision? Or was it just a forced outcome? Thanks

Yet Leviathans have the ability to control Reapers....
So why didnt they control Harbinger once it was built by Starbrat and use it to destroy the Starbrat?

I liked this DLC, no matter stereotypes, I like the fact BW tried something new and I liked selfishness and self-preservation instinct of Leviathans, I even liked Javik's comparisons with biblical and old Hebrew myths - 'cause, yes, Leviathans are actually like that and no matter what people here say - they don't promise anything that is not their own agenda - no magic wand there where they actually become allies - they are acting on their behalf and their own agenda and future ME universe should watch out 'cause the real nemesis is actually born. Reapers have their programmed purpose that can be re-programmed... Leviathans are alive and with their own agenda, more so, very dangerous agenda... almost reminding me on predatory capitalism we have nowadays in modern world.
BW did good job on this DLC and even tiny things like banter between Tali and Garrus on Normandy was truly nice touch. And I don't give a fig if anyone attacks my post - 'cause only few will read it anyway, these are forums, after all - but this DLC is worth 800 points and time and honestly, I think that BW story-designers were brave to make such DLC... cause it actually reflect real life - Taboo-X once gave similar definition of art - well, I'm just hoping he's in the mood enough to see the implications of the Reaper creators and remember what I told him some 2 months ago - Catalyst and Reapers are not to be blamed - it all boils down on those who were vain enough to create them and Loo! they were actually organics like we are and human race is making such decisions and doing such stupid, abhorrent things on daily basis. Just look at the world around you more closely and you'll see it on microplan.

Now, as for the DLC itself: I liked the investigation parts, neat stuff. It had a dark mood, that I don't recall seeing in ME; I feel like these two aspects gave it a fresh feel. Also liked the 3 new locations (other than the Citadel), they were unique in their own way. Pleased by EDI's involvement as well.
And as I said, the last conversation was.. interesting. But I felt that, if it was brought up in the discussion with the starbrat, it should've been built upon some more.
Oh and... decent length I might add (finished it in about 2.5 hours).
All in all, an enjoyable piece. 8.5/10

- Long fight through bombed out building
- Taxi chase scene
- Fighting across rooftops of apartments
- Boss fight with the Spectre agent
- Traversing the awesome SB ship from the outside
- Fighting in the interior of the ship
- Boss fight with the SB
...then you have all of the SB files to peruse after you completed the DLC - oh, and you got to do all these missions with a character that you couldn't play with at all throughout ME2.
Gameplay wise, LOTSB is easily twice as long, with far more varied gameplay IMO. Leviathan seems to focus on the story...which was already strongly hinted at from the starchild regardless. Plus the constant trips back to the doctors office on the Citadel really felt like padding.
No way comparable to LOTSB, and not Overlord either. Hell with Kasumi DLC you at least got a new squadmate to play through the regular game with you as well, here you get a toy head for your cabin. Wee.

The Rachni weren't influenced by the Reapers. They were being prepped by the Leviathans to wage war against the Reapers.
This is a huge revelation.

I prefer this to Arrival actually. Definitely still play Arrival for more indoctrination infromation, but this felt like it had more depth to it - and more combat. I haven't played Arrival in a yonks, but I think this has more varied combat. I did feel like I had less control in Arrival though compared with Leviathan.starlitegirlx wrote...

The first around, 20 minutes in the lab with EDI I personally adored.
The way they threw in some of the multiplayer objectives was also really cool.
The set pieces and new planets you can explore are very impressive.
There were really interesting moments, a good part in the beginning that felt like a weird and interesting sci fi trip, and another part in the middle that felt like a really cool large scale action sequence.
The underwater sequence was short and sweet, and the reveal of Leviathan was intense. The following conversation, was daunting and surreal, like the feel the ending had, except interesting and not retarded.
Nothing was really mind blowing, however, and from a quality perspective it's kind of average. but if you enjoy the lore and world of Mass Effect and have the money, it's just silly really, to not buy it.
