Quite enjoyed the 3-4 hours that I got out of the DLC - also found the additional insights the Leviathan provided to be interesting.

It implies that whatever choice you made at the end only makes things worse. It shows that Synthesis is exactly what the Catalyst is looking for, so you are beyond a shadow of a doubt bowing to the Reaper's will in that ending. It shows that the Reapers can be hacked in Control, which has it's own connotations. What happens if a race decides they don't like being ruled by Shepard and decide to try enslaving the Reapers for themselves.

Worst of all is what it does to Destroy, though, an ending where it already feels like we got kicked in the balls with the Geth's destruction. In that ending, without the Reapers to keep them in check, god only knows what the Leviathans are going to end up doing to the galaxy.

It's like no matter what you do, the universe we loved is still not safe, still ****ed, and everything we did is pointless. What was the point of stopping Soveriegn if everyone just turns into a Leviathan slave later anyway? Why keep everyone alive through the suicide run and continue the fight in the third game?

It's just one more hit to the nads after another.

No amount of effort can result in eternal peace in this universe of ours, it's simply not possible. Conflict will always arise and we can only try do deal with it to the best of our ability when it does. Not sure what you're complaining about here. The ending is bad just because there is still dangerous stuff out there in the galaxy?

I played it from a save I had just before Chronos Station. Quite satisfied with it. However, it is suggested by the Leviathan that it would help, and am curious if anybody has seen its effect in the fight if u completed the DLC early in the game. Perhaps their are some slight changes in the story prior to the final battle which may help or alter your final decission. Other than the 400 galaxy war assets + the Leviathan codex, that is.

I like what they've done.

The level design feels somewhere in between Noveria's Isolated Science Facility, with a bit of Bioshock 2's Outer Water-Level Sequences. As someone mentioned before, It's on par with LotSB. No doubt that was a major inspiration. Underwater mining colony Science-Fiction with Big Daddy Suits...

I played Leviathan from a save right before going to Horizon, and I discovered some new systems opened up... well, one anyway: the Crescent Nebula. Other systems that were already known had new planetary systems within them to scan for war assets. There's quite a bit out there to find. The DLC adds quite a lot in the war assets column, plus some new weapons and weapon mods. And the gameplay was great, so many interesting little touches, like the husk head. I'm happy with the purchase.

I enjoyed it, the atmosphere was nice. Did anyone bring Javik with them in this DLC? I had Liara and Garrus with me, but I guess Javik would have something to say about this.. lol

The leviathans are on one planet and secluded. Lack of logic could be due to a cabin fever-like state. Maybe they are just a little on the "insane recluse with a shotgun" side.

I thought it picked up in the later half of the story. Overall I thought it was pretty cool for the sake of the lore however I'd like to know if it makes any difference in the end game?

I would think that having the Leviathans on your side indoctrinating Reapers would have given some ****ing serious advantage to kick ass. I mean there were at least three Leviathans that could do some serious indoctrination of Reapers so they could kill each other but I guess that would be too much to ask for~

I loaded a 20+ hr save to play the DLC so I didn't play the end, does it make any difference in the story/gameplay having them on your side?

It was pretty good but I can't quite put my finger on why I came away disappointed. I think the end convo with the Leviathan was pretty cool but then in the decision chamber Shepard looks to have forgotten everything bar two sentences. I still think it's a massive plot hole that Shepard is "immune" to indoctrination or that no one acknowledges that all this time with Reapers and now Leviathan that Shepard is definitely 100% mentally.

I thought the combat was a bit tedious but that's just me, I don't play ME to shoot stuff, I play for the atmosphere and the story, which Leviathan done well.

Overall, I don't know, it still doesn't help with the problem I have with ME3 in that this whole Organic vs. Synthetic issue is a load of crap or that the Shepard breathe scene is still ambiguous.

Okay, played it and I really liked it. The exploring of Brysons lab was fun with a lot of things to talk about with EDI.
At first I was a bit worried when EDI walked in that for the rest of the DLC I would be stuck with her, so they did not have to pay the other squadmate-VAs for new lines (like in Arrival), but luckily I was wrong about that.^^
Exploring the lab was pure bliss afterwards, EDIs and Sheps lines made me burst in laughter more then once and as an old Resident Evil Fan (1-3 and Veroncia, there are no other games) it was fun checking around and putting pieces together.
Then on the mining colony. I mentioned I am RE fan, didn't I? Loved that part. The creepy workers, all talking like puppets... then the scene with fake Garneu behind the window ... can you say cold shivers? Great piece! Also I laughed out loud when I was at the reception and only after Liara pushed the call-button, they noticed my presense again.
The rest then was pretty basic. Playing "shoot the Reapers", mixed with an "escort-the-drone", an okay filler inbetween cutscenes. Nothing special.
Again I was very happy to run the ship after every mission to score the new lines from my mates. The best ones usually coming from Liara and Garrus of course. One thing I am not sure about: Did the Intercom-Flirting between Tali and Garrus always happen, or is that something new? I am not sure, if I heard all those lines before.
And then came the final part and I really liked that one as well. Not the fighting to pluck in Duracells surely, but the dive, damn that was fun. Ironically this reflects very much on the beginnings of science fiction and Verne, where the deep sea was just as unexplored and as alien as space. Of course the implication of the Leviathan being pretty much a sea moster is not lost on me as well.
The dive then was fun, I am not sure if you have to be faster on higher difficulties, but I had enough time look around and take in the nice underwater scenery with giant Han... jelly fishes. Then the rise of Leviathan(s), first the bubbles, then the first glimpses. Mind you, I carefully avoid any kind of spoiler, so everything it said came as a suprise to me, I even was suprised it was not just a Reaper-defector. Made for a nice "holy ****"-feeling.
The ending scene then could have been a bit longer, there should have been a bit more pillow talk with Liara (or your respective LI) about the things Shep experienced down there, but her line about not wanting a "tentacle creature" in my head except for herself knocked me out. Sigh... want more Ali Hillis!! (I actually had to play a bit of SWTOR afterwards to romance a cute Twi'lek with my Knight, just to hear more Hillis lines^^). If you want to do anything right Bioware, keep Liara for the next game in the universe, she has more then enough lifetime left^^

Anyway, you can say that I was very happy with the DLC. But I did not manage to play through the game again, because I already had a lot of doubts that there would be significant changes to the endings. It is still an open wound I guess, the EC aplied a nice bit of ointment, but I still don't feel particularly happy about it. And now it is even less understandable.
I mean how much work could it be to change the "Refuse-Ending" from "Told you so, idiot" to "You win, because you now have allies who actually can control Reapers and also have a big pool of knowledge about them?"
With the Leviathans there IS a realistic chance to win this war without using the Crucible. If each of them could control only one capital ship and slam them into another the Reapers would loose 6 of those big baddies in a single attack. Based on the number of times the Leviathan can do that, and combining them with the fleet you have...
Of course, it is very likely that the Leviathan will then try to conquer the galaxy themselves, but... can you say "Plothook for new game?"
I just feel like the assistance you aquired is completely undervalued. I mean if their help does not make any difference why give us that chance at all? It would most likely have been more elegant to have a whole Reaper fleet appear and boil the ocean with their creators (Mmmh... Lobster) in it and Shep barely escaping.

Ah, whatever. I think I will not think about the endings anymore. Bioware definately won't change them and has obviously just ignored the best and probably last chance to give the fans another happier option.
My game ends with Anderson dying, the Crucible destroying the Reapers (and them alone), and Shep getting rescued from the Citadel by his Squadmates. Period.

Although... I just got an idea for a fanfic... hmmm...

and i have to say this is a lot better than LOTSB

Yeah sure doesn't change the ending, but who cares.

Sad I will buy this DLC two months later and not now

Yeah, Javik questions whether or not befriending a Reaper is a wise choice, considering that they originally believed that it was a traitor to its own kind and so he wondered if it might turn on them if they managed to win the war. Aside from that, he makes a few offhanded comments here and there, but nothing really significant.

And yeah, just finished it about 10 minutes ago and I have to say that I'm very satisfied with the DLC itself and the answers that it provided regarding the origins of the Reapers. Although this does open up the possibility of an even greater threat than the Reapers in future installments, especially in the Destroy and Control endings since the Leviathans are quite possibly *the* most advanced race in the galaxy's entire history and they don't seem to be terribly nice, being more akin to Cthulhu and the other Great Old Ones so they'll more than likely attempt to reestablish their dominance over everything once the war's over.

This will almost definitely never happen, but it'd be awesome if they ever told 'one more story about the Shepard' which continues directly after the 'good' Destroy ending. With the galactic community at large still recovering from the Reaper invasion, the Leviathans would then launch a coordinated assault across multiple systems, enthralling numerous populated worlds in their first steps towards restoring the former glory of their race.

It'd be revealed that they actually held back the majority of their resources even during their uneasy alliance with the other races such as starships, weapons and other extremely advanced tech, and there are actually thousands of Leviathans if not more scattered across the Milky Way. Since most of the spacefaring races' militaries were all but decimated, they'd be almost helpless to stop the Leviathans and so Shepard has to gear up one final time to save the galaxy.
