-Yay crew interaction! One of my biggest complaints about Overlord/LOTSB/Arrival is that Shepard's crew was pretty incidental to the plot in all of them. When they were present, their job was mostly to stand there. So I appreciated the fact that in this one there was a lot more of a presence to the rest of the team, from EDI and James in the lab to the remarks during the missions and on the Normandy. While Shepard was obviously the focus, it really felt morelike a group effort than previous DLC entries did.
- "Vanguard of our destruction. How's THAT working out for you, Sovereign?" This line made me laugh in gleeful triumph. Sometimes its good to revel in past victories.
-Puzzle-solving with the filters. I loved this as a concept, but I can't help feeling like it would have been more satisfying if it had been harder to put together. It was more a matter of thoroughness than making the player think. I'd love something that made you rummage through the codex in order to get to the right answer.
-I loved the tension when you were using Ann to track down the Leviathan. It's a great role-playing moment for the player. How far is your Shepard willing to go? It might have been better if there were different consequences for going too short besides having to search more systems.
Disliked-
-Shepard taking forever to grasp that the miners were being controlled or to understand what was going on with the research assistant. Given how much experience Shepard has with people being indoctrinated, it felt weird how puzzled she seemed as events transpired.
-Ladder bug makes Zu cry.
-No effect on the ending. I feel like Bioware missed a bet with how they approached the end of this series. Since its the end of the series, they could have done a lot more to make DLC feel like it influenced the course of the game.
Don't Know How to feel-
-The Leviathans. On the one hand, it's cool to find out about the reaper origins and everything, but on the other hand it takes the mystery out of what happened. I still think Bioware made a mistake in feeling like they needed to answer questions about the Reapers.
Overall it was a good DLC, and I feel like I got my moneys worth. Seeing the crew in action again is always a blast. Looking forward to a few more adventures with them.

They added some vorcha and Illum war assets with this DLC. And if they followed the same pattern than the Extended Cut DLC maybe they let some hidden files for the next one inside Leviathan.Flaming Snake wrote...
I sense a new MP map coming, in the form of that crashed ship that the underwater mech is on...
Overall, I liked it, BUT it would have been nice if the Leviathans actually had more of an input towards the War Assets or the final battle. Considering it was 1.6GB, there could've been a bit more in there.
Worth the 800MS points imo.

Likes,
- First of all, the locations/environments! All 4 new locations were good looking and nicely done.
- Bryson's lab 'puzzles'. Were nice new gameplay segments, with a little exploring. Also, the galaxy map in the lab was cool, and the lochness skeleton as well.
- I've seen alot of easter eggs/references. For instance, a datapad wich contains a freighter name called the MSV Kirkwall. Made me giggle. And EDI talking about the Basilisk forum where people complained about something being overpowered. Awesome.
- James being in the lab, and the husk-head-thing playing with James.
- Sovereign remains in the lab
- Taking a shower with EDI !!!!!
- Of course, the part where you go into deep sea. That was amazing. Great atmosphere.
- The Leviathan convo was good.
- OH, and the other 2 Leviathans showing up. That was surprising.
Dislikes,
- Back on the Normandy when you talk to your squadmates, sometimes they don´t finish their sentences. A little annoying.
- Squadmates glitching in the mining level. Happened to me several times.
- An abrupt ending. I was expecting more.
- No cut scene of Leviathan in the end battle! What....really....
- Literally no effect on the ending whatsoever, only a dialogue line with the Catalyst. Really dissapointing.
Overall, a great DLC, took me 4,5 hours to complete.

-I thoroughly enjoyed this DLC. The leviathan was a pretty big reveal. I would've saved this DLC as the last DLC to release honestly, because it really revealed what the Reapers were modeled after, and their reason for being created in the first place.
-I also loved the dialogue, even though it was mainly auto dialogue.
-I loved exploring the apartment. In fact, I kept EDI with me in every mission because it just seemed to make since to me.
-I enjoyed male sheperd's perfomance, more emotional.
-squad banter seemed to be more frequent
-the scientist father and daughter had actual face models
CONS
-the reapers have officially been p***yfied. The Leviathan reveal of their appearance and creation origin took away the seemingly ominous god-like presence from the Reapers.
-no batarian cameos
-this is kind of nitpicky, I thought Leviathan would be A LOT larger, like galactus/planet size.
-seriously, the Leviathans just chill on a water planet and watch cycle after cycle get destroyed!?...but then they decide to 'fight back' when shepard comes in and says "hey guys, I'm different though!"PUNKS!
-I was wanting something more to the Reaper origin other than, 'AI goes crazy out of control'
-Finally, we've essentially brought the Leviathan out of the closet, they were controlling organics before......so after shepard defeats/synthesizes/controls the Reapers, the Leviathans will just come back and try to control everyone again.........lose - lose situation.
Overall I enjoyed the heck out of this. Then again, I just have huge love for MASS EFFECT.

Best DLC of the Series in my Opinion. I really enjoyed the nod's to Mass Effect 1, the lab and the lovecraft vibe in the Asteroid. I will buy as many of these DLC's as you can make if they live up to this standard. Is their an item for Shepards Cabin that I missed?
You have really low standarts.

The underwater scenes were super lovely, so I would like to congratulate the team on just how beautiful all of that looked.
That said, it seemed like a pretty big plot point to drop just from a DLC...like the reaper daddy race can wind up being an even bigger danger..and then of course there's the fact that they don't show up in the ending, which since the dlc is still new I'm hoping this will be amended but I'm not holding my breath.

The Reapers discovered their hiding place and being a giant aquatic species the only thing they could do was fight to protect their planet or let the Reapers kill them.uzivatel wrote...

By the way, the Reapers were already tracking them after all they reached both Mahavid and Namakli before Shepard, altough i agree seeing how Shepard was also after the same target they probably started following him too.

There is always the possibility another race start some war again(krogan, batarians, leviathan etc...), nothing last forever.skate4tacos96 wrote...
I liked this DLC at first, but then I realized something. The Leviathans are an even bigger threat than the Reapers! After the Reaper threat is dealt with, surely they will try to dominate the "Lesser Species" and become the "Apex Race" since they won't have to hide from the Reapers anymore. Is anybody else concerned or annoyed by this?
However the probability is small since the Leviathans need to use thralls to act as their "arms and legs" and their mind control ability is limited to places close to the orbs.
Sure they tried that (and failed) about two milennia ago by using
the Rachni (use one orb to control the Queen then all the hive is yours)but now that everyone knows about them their "behind the scenes" act will be hard for them to do it again without anyone noticing...

Exactly. Still felt like the Leviathan is not to be trusted, It would have been neat to see how they ended up in the EC, but I doubt they were included in the EC. The introduction of the Leviathan to the council races is kind of a big deal. I doubt they're just going to go quietly back into hiding after the war.

The way they were talking about it getting real once you go underwater, I thought I was just at the halfway point of the DLC. But I wasn't. It was over.
I breezed through in 2.5 hours, people using LOTSB as a game length reference are DEAD WRONG. Overall, it just started getting interesting, then it ended abruptly and offers no extra impact to the game. This was a $5 DLC, not $10. I'm really disappointed, especially since the game hard froze on me twice during cutscenes, and it was still a linear experience. The moments in the shuttle were generic, didn't feel like there was ever any risk of an outcome that wasn't being handed to me.
4 bowls of cereal out of 10 bowls of cereal.
Overall, I'm still hungry, but all there is to eat is more cereal. Ugh. Not enough marshmallows...

It implies that whatever choice you made at the end only makes things worse. It shows that Synthesis is exactly what the Catalyst is looking for, so you are beyond a shadow of a doubt bowing to the Reaper's will in that ending. It shows that the Reapers can be hacked in Control, which has it's own connotations. What happens if a race decides they don't like being ruled by Shepard and decide to try enslaving the Reapers for themselves.
Worst of all is what it does to Destroy, though, an ending where it already feels like we got kicked in the balls with the Geth's destruction. In that ending, without the Reapers to keep them in check, god only knows what the Leviathans are going to end up doing to the galaxy.
It's like no matter what you do, the universe we loved is still not safe, still ****ed, and everything we did is pointless. What was the point of stopping Soveriegn if everyone just turns into a Leviathan slave later anyway?
Haha, Leviathan EC incoming.

For those unfamiliar with the Robotech franchise, the final story arc basically had Earth being occupied by an alien race known as the Invid which piloted large robitc suits vaguely resembling crabs. A large expeditionary force of humans survived the original invasion as they had been exploring a different part of the galaxy, and they made alliances with several alien races before returning to retake Earth.
During the final battle, the Invid finally withdrew from Earth and left for points unknown, but the allied fleets suffered huge casualties. At this point, one of their alien allies (an ancient and enigmatic alien race which seemed to be cybernetic in nature) suddenly revealed their true colors and turned against the humans and other races. They suddenly displayed technology far beyond anything that they were previously known to possess, including far superior starships than the ones used to help reclaim Earth. Also, it was revealed that they were possibly the most advanced race in the known galaxy, and were responsible for devastating the Invid's original homeworld, forcing the latter race to turn violent and expansionist. Turns out that they'd been biding their time for millennia and concealing their true military and technological strength, while waiting for all the other sentient races to be weakened by warring each other before launch an all-out attack on their former allies in their attempt to reconquer the galaxy. Hmmm...........

I haven't played the ending again to see what the Catalyst has to say, but it's certainly raised a few questions about consequences for your end choices etc. It's kind of frightening really. Leviathan didn't sound like they were totally hostile to 'lesser' beings, but still...
I had always wondered where BioWare could go in a future ME game. What could be bigger or more powerful than the Reapers? I think we found out what that was.

The Good:
more explained about the reapers and also a little about the rachni, great new locations, great atmosphere during the mission, more reaper forces to fight with new added gameplay (taken from mutliplayer), interesting and hilarious interaction with squad mates, new planet systems to explore (including the Vorcha homeworld) with new assets to accumulate, and awesome reveal at the end of the mission.
The Bad:
no new footage of leviathans (or anything else) added to the battle at end of the game.
Great addition to ME3 and well worth it! More DLC like this will be very much welcome!
