i understand the concept of the creation through destruction thing.. its just what is stated by the leviathan character is flawed... it makes the contradiction.. and an obvious one...

it may be that the leviathans arent that clever.. maybe they just assume the intelligence of their thralls as their own... without them they have little interaction with the galaxy.. living their lives through them... 10years those miners were out cold.. with no idea what happened.. 10years leviathans used them.. using them to do their research.... without us theyre useless... i doubt they modified themselves or built anything... but we are all in trouble when the leviathans develop thumbs... the secret weapon of species everywhere.. the ability to hold an object

@ TheWIll, that's a pretty savvy idea. Without minions, the collective intellect is minimal. Kinda like the Geth, the fewer there are, the dumber they are.

Therefore the Leviathan=mental parasites? You provide them with free will/intelligence/hands, and they provide you with oblivion....

As underwater sequences go, I think Manaan, in Kotor, is still unbeatable! Leviathan's didn't scratch the surface of that great part of the fantastic game that was Kotor.

Another thing I like about this is it explains a question lots of people had:

How does the Crucible use the Catalyst as a crucial component if it was made by organics who didn't even know of its existence?

Now we know I guess!

when you talk to javik and he mentions the weaker races.. if you say.. the weak hold us back..
javik tells you they can still be useful.. as a distraction..while their being harvested the reapers arent focusing on you.... i get the feeling this is what the leviathans have been doing all this time... causing wars.. and keeping the reapers focused on the "lesser species"....apex predators dont hide.. and because their being hunted by the reapers.. the term apex predator no longer applies to them.. its just ego

I liked how they retconned the Rachni manipulation. Everything until Leviathan tends to point the Reapers as responsible for the mess (which makes sense, since they usually weaken the galactic races with internal wars before their invasion, thus making the harvest easier). And now we learn that Levy and his pals are the guilty ones.
Everything is done to convince us that the Reapers the good guys, really.

Honestly the Reapers causing the Rachni wars always puzzled me. The Reapers methods of destroying organic civilization are usually very methodical. Instigating wars that they don't fight in doesn't seem like their style.

I didn't really see it as retroactive plot changing in bad way.

I'm lukewarm.....it doesn't suck but it's not great either.....

On the plus though the squad mates actually talk.....nice improvement....

Too little time to discuss a big topic....

Where does it state that the Reaper are responsible for the Rachnaiwar? On the contrary, the Rachnai are imune to indoctrination. i guess your just headcanon something that hasent been explained.^_^ yet

Huh? It's not headcanon.

If you've played ME1 and ME2 then you would know that the Rachni Wars happened because the Rachni were indoctrinated. That's what all the talk about the "sour note" came from.

How does any part of ME3 change the fact that the Reapers are still a bunch of killer machines who have to be stopped? So the Hannibal lecture in Silence of the Lambs is meant to condone murder and cannibalism?

Finding out that the Leviathans might have been behind the Rachni manipulation is not a retcon, the same way we can find out more about our history as we do research. The point is that the Rachni were indoctrinated but didn't fit the Reaper methodology, which makes perfect sense now that the existence of an original Leviathan race is revealed.

Revealing something is not the same as retconning something. That's like saying Bioware retconned the origins of the mass relays half way through ME1.

So someone managed to push or "sing" the Rachni to invade the galaxy, and you assume it can be either reapers or Leviathan. But the queen is immune to indoctrination. This makes no sense.
Also beside Reapers, Leviathan and the Thorian there might be other species indulging into mind manipulation.
This 3 are only exemples we already know.

Neither the Rachni, nor Shepard ever learns what or who caused the rachniwar.

This is just a plottwist to make saving the Queen a resonable decision.

The Zha'til in Javik's cycle?

The Reapers were supposed to invade the galaxy much sooner. The Protheans hacking the Keepers signal did delay the Harvest.
It makes perfect sense to me. Divide and conquer. I don't see what the Leviathans would gain by manipulating the Rachni.

Why did you become a Volus?

Because of a thread calling him out. It happened on the forum, a couple days ago.

Ah, okay. Is there any way to turn you back into your original form (like synthesis for example) ?

I changed the desctiption to be a little more accurate. We can change back, but now we have a volus clan started, so I don't want to.
