if they don't unlock the main thread, we're leaving. we were already going to make our own forum, so it really does not matter. i don't want to be part of a community where those in charge wield their power so carelessly that they'd take away one of the few bright spots here; a community full of helpful, welcoming people, on a forum where all are in short supply.

neither should any of you.

Too bad, there goes a vibrant bunch.

I need to withdraw from the tournament. Snyper is going to take my spot and then get one of the guys from his team to be a reserve.

Nothing bad is going on, the opposite actually, just after a meeting yesterday I have a huge project at work I need to have done next week that will pretty much consume every waking moment.

I'm proud of my team they have been awesome and I am sure they are going to put up a killer time this round. If there is any chance I am available for a game or 2 I will make every effort to join them.

Yeah, congrats on the project! Once it's done, definitely let me know when it's released so I can buy it on the app store.

Anyway, I am really sorry guys, but I am dropping out of the tournament too. I just won't have time to play the game for the next little while.

Good luck to Team Geekfest/snyper the rest of the way though!

I know one of the members (who i won't name) has already said he can set it up. I also know one has his own forum as well and will move his over to the new one and merge them. I'd rather be a part of that since we can discuss any game instead of BW only ones.

Not to say i won't even post here but it will be more rare starting next tuesday anyway

I'm not criticizing, I'm genuinely curious.  Why don't you guys use the group discussions for finding games, discussing other games, casual chatter, etc?  Why does that thread need to be front and center in the main forum?  Groups exist for that exact reason.

There are multiple organized groups around here, some more active than others (you guys, Legion Effect, Bronze Effect, N7 Spec Ops, another PC centric one I forget).  If all these groups had 2+ seriously active threads at one time, the front page would be nothing but long running, group centric threads some days.

We had one thread for our discussion in the group for people to get games and talk about general strategies and such. This thread was ONLY for the tournament so that BSN as a whole could chip in a bit about it rather then "invading" our thread and causing cluster for new people searching for games. This thread only became active again after nearly a week to post our times that we got and the new stipulations for the 2 final rounds.

Edit: And what does it really do if we have 2 threads? Bump down some of the whining threads, the nerf this/buff that threads that turn into wars basically, etc? The useful threads of back in the day are not around anymore and they will never be since the helpful members of the community are giving up due to the trolling and harrassment of this site.

Edit 2: The group discussions are TERRIBLE to sift through. Nobody looks at them really and even if they do, half the people don't post in groups. We have members that were in almost every one of the groups you named and none of them had the experiences we have had. There is a reason our group is so active, just saying...

Not too mention he closes one of the more relevant threads on this forum, but I still see all the spam threads asking the same questions over and over again remaining unlocked.

I am not even affiliated with team arelex and this kind of thing disgusts me.

That's tough to hear.  You deserved to move on in the tournament along with your team.  I was looking forward to what you might cook up for the next round.

And MysticH is leaving, too?  That's another rough loss.  Your team was great to pull off what you did in such little time together.

And I hope the other thread gets unlocked.  The party got crashed right in the middle of celebration!  (And no one got to respond to my post about BW buffing me again this week. ;))

EDIT: As for the posting in the Multiplayer forum about this group, I can't say why it stayed that way since I'm so new to the group, but I'm glad the team members and new members kept doing so.  If the topic hadn't been on the front page, I'd never have known to join the group.  It was a nice recruitment thread for me, and others, I'm sure.

Interesting cause/effect question there.  Was it that thread, the core members, the focus, etc., that makes this group work better than others?

I don't really want to derail this thread from it's ultimate purpose (tournament, and now apparently general purpose AreleX discussion), was just curious about that.

this thread was derailed by a ninja discuss whatever you want. i like the topic keep it going. the group page is horrible, it dosnt work for other groups either. i have been apart of 4 groups on these forums and this is the only one that ever had good communication. and it was because of or main thread.edit or not i don't care either way. i asked the ninja to delete my account he did not. and live i didn't get my promotional weapon either. Prolly punishment from a certain ninja as well.

In my opinion it is the willingness and the desire to help people get better at this game. I've never ever seen or have been involved with a group like this. From ME1 until now this group has been the highlight of the series for me.

I urge you and everyone else to read my correspondence with the moderator who locked the thread, Stanley Woo. You will see for yourselves how flimsy of a case it is, and how heavy-handed he was with his moderation. See for yourselves how sound his logic and reasoning are, and how selectively he chooses to answer the points I make. Decide on your own if you agree with his justifications for closing a positive thread that's the reason for hundreds to keep playing the game, amidst a sea of complaint and troll threads on the forums. I stayed civil and made my case clear as possible, and it did nothing.

There are tons of members that communicate in our group and very regularly. We always post when we are looking for someone else to play with and usually get a very quick response. Even if it were a non-group member that posted and said they were interested we would have gladly taken them in, I don't believe that will be the case as often the way things are turning out.

I for one am very put off by the way this is going and being a "teacher" in the group was pretty much the only enjoyment I had left from this game. I feel like that has pretty much been taken away from me now since I refuse to use this as our main discussion, I just hope that the rest of the group survives this as it is an amazing group of people.

I am going to ask all those interested in it to read the group discussion and go for our new site. Not linking the name in here, but let's get everyone moving!

I'm down for that but only for new games. This game is getting close to dead for me personally and I will admit that locking the other thread was a huge nail in the coffin.

There will be plenty of new games in there, will be nearly the same as the one I had set up before, just no ads and a smoother site overall.

Looks like team geekfest will be in some difficulty this round. Hopefully, we can put something together. Regardless of what happens this round, the first round was incredible fun as has been all of my experiences with people from this amazing group.

Sniper will have to pull in reserves from his team. If I can find a way to get time in I will do my best. But regardless I had a blast, looking forward to playing with you again.

It's somewhat interesting that this has occurred at basically the same time that Priestly sent out a survey to the community about the community.  This whole thing strikes me as a failure to communicate on the frontend, and an opportunity for communication on the backend.  Might be worth dropping a line to Priestly to have a talk with him about it.  Even if you don't plan on being heavily involved here going forward, you might help some other group down the line.

Just registered for the new forums... sad to see the main thread go, but nothing to do about it now I suppose. Hope to see you all there.
