I urge you and everyone else to read my correspondence with the moderator who locked the thread, Stanley Woo. You will see for yourselves how flimsy of a case it is, and how heavy-handed he was with his moderation. See for yourselves how sound his logic and reasoning are, and how selectively he chooses to answer the points I make. Decide on your own if you agree with his justifications for closing a positive thread that's the reason for hundreds to keep playing the game, amidst a sea of complaint and troll threads on the forums. I stayed civil and made my case clear as possible, and it did nothing.[lnks removed]

This is a sad state of affairs really - your team threads have been informative, humorous and filled with cool people. The few Team Arelex members I've bumped into in random PUG's have always been great players and good people too. I hope you get that thread unlocked...

I understand that principal and truth should have weight, but sometimes it is better to compromise in a mutually beneficial way.

Would they be willing to at least give the option to unlock the original thread and lock the newer thread?

Don't we get a red blue and green option? This is so ridiculous all I can do is laugh at it
nope thats not tell months later after heavy debate they decide on a extended lock ruling that is only slightly less bad than the original lock ruling.

Thread about rape -That's OK
Thread about how BW sucks -That's OK
Thread about the balance changes - That's OK.
Troll Thread about the balance changes -That's OK
QQ Thread about .elitists who hate Public Matches but for some reason feel inclined to dick about it rather than take the iniative AreleX has - That's OK
QQ Thread about how all the things in ME3 Multiplayer suck - That's OK
Troll Thread about the troll threads - That's OK
Thread about a bunch of great players getting together in Private Lobbies to enjoy the hell out of the game away from the Public Games often littered with players who don't suit their playstyle that also happens to offer entertaining videos, an awesome, friendly community, friends for outside od Mass Effect and possible tutorial about how to play aggressively or simply how to play more effectively - LOCK IT! LOCK IT!
Seriously.... that is some terrible logic.
If anyone is interested (and I urge EVERYONE to joni) then here is the link to the website - http://teamarelex.fr...s.net/index.cgi
(Note that the forums may move over to Geekfest's version, which can be found here)
I know that, after Stan's comprehension of AreleX's points I have now lost much respect for BioWare. I may just end up putting the game down after the tournament, if a group of cool, awesome players can't have two threads amongst all the spam in the forums then I don't feel like this is much of a community. Borderlands 2, Resident Evil 6, Black Ops 2, Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed 3 are all great games that will be coming out over the next year which I would love to be able to play with all of you guys, however I only have room for about 80 of the Team AreleX's 200 members and that's before the clean up for other games in the future.
I always defended BioWare for caring about this game but honestly? Between hit and miss mod decisions, Patch 1.03, trailers about free DLC that are released after the bloody DLC (and only in French, I might add) and the complete lack of anything innovative in terms of DLC and the Weekend Operations (sorry BioWare but I just don't find the DLC all that motivational) I just don't feel like the Mass Effect community is a community, nor that BioWare is attempting to maintain one.
EDIT AreleX any chance you, Bech or Relix could send a mass msg to everyone's gamertags through the AreleX gamertags? The more publicity for the TA Forums the better. Thanks.

Why not just keep the tournament thread inside the main thread?
The only thing I don't know about is why not close the secondary thread instead of the primary?...

Good to see Bioware handling the community just as well as they handle attempting to fix bugs. (i.e. not at all).
Sigh.

I did...
But I would probably just keep the tournament status on the first post of the primary thread.
Not saying what happened is good, I am just saying it isn't just Stanley ending the rine for lols.

Goosh, that is not needed in here at all, not making things any better with that.
I spoke my mind, I edited it to seem less offensive for the sake of Team AreleX but honestly I don't feel that loved by BioWare right now. A mod made a bad decision and then reverse engineered all of AreleX's points ("they have two different purposes"="They can be misunderstood having the same purpose") and downright ignored his final point about how poor the moderation is overall on this site (you want proof? Optimistman posted about 50 troll topics before he was banned. There is no arguing for BioWare in that regard. I'm not just gonna sit quietly as BW pushes the community even further apart than it already is.
If they do read it they should maybe think about their moderation strategy. I understood where Stan came from originally but his logic is flawed in that both threads are clearly different in functionality, there are many more topics that need moderation before Team AreleX, and why in the world did he lock the 5000 post long thread instead of this mere 150 or so one?

Because it would be lost in the banter between AreleX members as we create runs, have a laugh and discuss sports and upcoming releases. The tournament thread was dedicated to the tournament. A place fo the rest of BSN to view the videos from the tournament without trawling through the last 10 pages of the Join Team AreleX thread. Hell it took me about 10 minutes to find Geekfest's original post with the gif of his Jade strategy and I actually knew such a thing was there.
