Vote ME3 as the 'Ultimate GotY' in the Golden Joystick awards? I think not.

Well I bought Skyrim on PS3 last year and never came across game breaking bugs (aside from the long loading screens and a few broken radiant quests everything was fine for me) OK I know saying that makes it seems like my disc was blessed by Jesus Christ but it's true. I've actually told my friends who play it across all platforms and a few of them didn't believe me, anyway that's why I voted for Skyrim in best RPG.Eterna5 wrote...
I hear that Skyrim is flawless.
I voted ME3 for everything, just to annoy people.
But seriously, Skyrim didn't even work for me on the PS3, you think Bioware is bad? try dealing with Beths customer support, they knowingly sold PS3 users a broken game and still haven't fully fixed it. It's ridiculous, the game was a buggy mess.

Haven't played Diablo 3, so I can't comment on that.
The cutscenes are awesome. That's about it. NPCs are more fleshed out this time, the artstyle is really detailed, but it's pretty unmemorable otherwise.

On two of my playthroughs in Skyrim, there was at least one major questline that I could not complete due to bugs. One of those quests was a main story mission btw, meaning that I could never complete the game. The rest of the game could have been absolutely flawless (which it most certainly is not) and I still would not vote for it based on that.

Of course, you can dismiss a game because off what you get, as is the case with Torchlight (no! kiddie graphics!) for many people. But yeah, I like to believe that we game for the sheer heck of it and not with a critical eye to find fault every frigging single time.

Plus, it would encourage EA and Bioware to continue to dwell in mediocrity.
Edit - I voted for Dark Souls in the "Best RPG" and "Ultimate GOTY" categories. Not only was it immersive as hell, but the game hooked me from the moment I pressed start and left me enthralled during my entire playthrough.

Ignoring the massive backlash against the ending, ME3 was so rushed and incomplete that it would be unfair to the other nominees if ME3 won any GOTY award.

This.
It's like giving them an award for their failure.

Wasn't bad overall and it did have some good moments, but much weaker than ME1 and ME2. Journal wasn't well handled and the side missions were mostly crap with that awful scanning nonsense.
Felt a bit rushed and unfinshed to me, more a shooter than a RPG.
Edit:
On balance in ME1 and ME2 I felt I was part of the story, in ME3 I was just an observer.

While ME3 is the weakest game in the series, I think it's the best game this year.
QFT. Compared to other BioWare titles, ME3 is a definite letdown, otherwise its a pure win and why ? Because of its characters. They simply transcend gaming and turn it into digital art ! And I'll keep on voting for BioWare until other studios get their act together and put some brains in their narrative and characters.
