Vote for Arkham City people!

ME3 is good but not GOTY material and Skyrim is a broken overrated ****ing joke of a hiking sim unless you run about 5 Gigs of Mods.

Seriously... I wish people looked at that game with the same level of criticism as ME3.

I do actually.., I hate that with the HD-dlc my totally unnecessarily overpowered graphics-array runs out of V-mem and I get framerate drops into the negative numbers after leaving a player-house a few times. I love how I can lose myself in the gameworld merely hunting deer... And I love even more that Bethesda has removed the "arrow to the knee" comment from the game, it makes Skyrim 1000 times more enjoyable.

Skyrim has soul and I'm a Stormcloak for life, lol.

The way I see it though, is that many people bought Skyrim without really knowing anything about TES and the stat-system. TES games are slow and ponderous and the lore is deep and complex. It lured many people in with it's graphics and the "sandbox" magic word. Maybe even a lot of people who are fascinated by Vikings...

But for us TESsies who were really into the Province of Skyrim, Skyrim the game was and is a must have. I said it before in this thread, when it comes to games, you must vote with your heart, really.

Dark Souls best RPG
Arkham City Ending Best moment
Skyrim Ultimate Game of the year.

ME3 didn't come close in my view. I would have voted Skyrim, Dark Souls, Arkham City, Assassin's Creed Revelations ahead of ME3.

I would have voted for it as the most disappointing game of 2012 though, because it was.

So much this.  A lot of people didn't realise what they were buying and it didn't click with all of them (although many loved it).

For those who've been to Morrowind and the planes of Oblivion, Skyrim has been long in the making.  I think I dreamed of going to Skyrim like 8 years before it come out.  And it didn't disappoint.

Does it have bugs?  Of course.  It's a Bethesda game.  It also has literally hours of things to do, places to see, people to kill.

You cannot compare ME3 with Skyrim.  ME3 is a passable end to a very good triology.  Skyrim is an entire country to explore and conquer.

As for Arkham City, great game but never quite lived up to Arkham Asylum.

The best moments in skyrim for me are due to mods and the way i play the game, its not really crafted for me to enjoy, most of it feels self crafted with tool set being the game. Thats not GOTY

ME3 has given me a great many memorable scenes, and fun game play. I give it my votes, simply because none of the other games seem GOTY to me.

Personally i would give it to Spec ops the line, but thats not a option.

Most of the games this year didn't attract my attention cept Sleeping Dogs,Spec Ops:The Line and Mass Effect 3

So i might as well vote for ME3 as i enjoyed it a bit

Skyrim, The Witcher 2 and Arkham City got my votes. ME3? Hell no! ME3 doesn't even touch the epicness of ME1 and ME2 (especially ME2, god it was so amazing!)

ME3 is so far from GOTY material it's not funny. Voted for Arkham City, definitely deserves it though.

So what if the ending were crap but the games itself were great and awesome still not like the others yet. If you don't think so there something wrong.

No, it had plenty of faults.  They were just overshadowed by the ending.

On one save i have a flashing dot on the galaxy map as though a mission should be there, but there isn't.  On another my journal still lists me having to do a citadel mission I've done. Journal was confusing and complicated and there was so much auto dialogue.  I'm not even sure it belongs in the RPG category, it should have been in the shooter category imo.

It wasn't game of the year.

Pfft! ME3 doesn't even deserve the nom, let alone to win. Skyrim got my votes for most of ME3's categories.

I was a big fan of Batman Arkham City (and Asylum)

Skyrim is much better than Oblvion but I stil think Morrowind was more Immersive. Definitely had that "old-skool" RPG just like ME1 had.

too bad ME3. I had such high expectations but you let me down. 2yrs in developing....should've been 4yrs. I would have gladly waited

LOL I just started a new Morrowind playthrough. I don't remember any clipping issues in Morrowind. Is it only the newer games that can't make the cut with the graphics?

Yeh.

I hate that banner. It's the most arrogant thing i've seen on here in a long time, and I thought calling the Retake movement "Retake Mass Effect" pretty arrogant.
I agreed with their goals, just didn't like the name.

ME3 against Skyrim? AND Diablo 3 and Arkham City?

That's adorable if they think they actually have a chance.

It's never arrogant to state a fact. The banner is a reaction to the dispicable behaviour of many "fans". Just look at all the abuse Casy Hudson and Mac Walters have had hurled at them. Is showing your distaste for the people who do this sort of thing arrogant?

Arkham City boils down to X, X, Y, Y, Y, Y, X, Y. I would say it has a semi-decent story but in hindsight I don't actually think it did. There was a lot of villians, but the plot seemed sort of incoherent in an attempt to incorperate them all. Unless the bad guy was crowned king of the world I don't see how he was able to kidnap Bruce Wayne at the start, and Bruce was shown to be an idiot when he revealed he would've saved a mass murderer who poisoned himself due to stupidity. The entire game was just idiot balls with 2 button combat and some mild puzzles that would be considered basic 12 years ago.

Haven't played Diablo 3. Tbh I know nothing about its story. I can't see what it could've done that was more impressive than Mass Effect 3.
