It's a goofy little thing. There's actually a funny interaction with it and James if you choose to prompt his dialogue. Go through all the dialogue, then he offers for you to take it back to your cabin, "for research... or whatever."

A few questions, just out of curiosity:

1) Roughly how much combat is there vs. dialogue?
2) Are there many dialogue choices at all, or is it usually only two?
3) Autodialogue: How much? Roughly the same as vanilla ME3, or less?
4) Are there any actual choices in this DLC at all that change anything?
5) Are there multiple paths or ways of doing the content?

1) 50/50 I'd say
2) A decent amount, but alot of dialogue is Shepard leading it.
3) A fair amount
4) Yes, but not by much
5) No

Well, based on that information and what staindgrey said, I think I'll pass on this one and just hit up the YouTube vids. Cheaper that way.

Once you start the DLC, can you go back to the vanilla game, do some stuff, and come back to the DLC, or are you stuck there until the DLC is done?

The former. You come back to the Citadel elevator/Normandy CIC multiple times throughout, and can do whatever you want from there.

That's a good question.
I reckon it is the same as firewalker setup, where you just go planet to planet on your time.

Nice little review. Looks interesting and so far I've been hearing good things. Might pick it.

Good. As much as I liked Overlord, LOTSB and Arrival, it was irritating that I had to do the entire DLC in one take. This way, I can do 1 Levi missions, then something from the main game, then another Levi mission etc. It adds to the entire game.

The level of emotional depth is a bit shallow (for me at least) despite certain scenes attempting to tug at your heart strings, but I would recommend bringing your LI along for the ride on each of the missions, if only the final one, if emotion is what you're looking for.

Yea, a bit tricky.. Since my shep kinda loves Miri ^^, Still, I'll probably try the DLC. Thanks for non-spoiler post.

By any chance, does it happen to spin around and make loud noises?

I kept pressing it before the James scene and it exploded :pinched:
Luckily it magically reappeared later and I got the James stuff and got to keep it which was almost worth the download alone.

I guess my only question is how long roughly did the DLC take to complete? Hoping for at least 2-3hrs.

I'm hearing lots of "two hours" and "two-and-a-half hours" answers. It sounds like for once BioWare's DLC length estimates fit the average fan. They usually sound bloated.

About 3 hrs for me on Insanity, but I looked everywhere along the way for upgrades.

Edit: Had to go back to earlier save once as well due to freezing issue during the scene after speaking to Leviathan.

Nice review.
Though is it really something that can only be experienced? From what I heard here, it looks to work out just as good on YT...

Thanks for the quick answers Jeff & Kobayashi. Does this DLC impact your end game choice at all? Like for me, I always pick Destroy, do you feel this DLC reinforces what you all normally picked or made you go a different way? Thanks for the answers and the non-spoilers!

Just finished it myself, and enjoyed it quite a bit. There was much more emphasis on dialogue and 'exploration' (not vehicular, but it was exploration of sorts) than I expected, and the main action sequences weren't too long. Its not like Arrival where it was mostly combat focused. There wasn't quite as much gameplay variety as, say, LotSB (boss fights, flying car chase) but there was still quite a lot of variety, more than in most ME3 missions.

Unlike Arrival, squadmates all have dialogue. EDI in particular has quite a lot, and both Shepard and James get some humourous lines (along with a new and pretty amusing item for Shepard's cabin). Squadmates also each get a line of dialogue between the various missions that make up Leviathan. Its not much, but this is only a DLC and even so squaddies get more dialogue than they have in any other ME DLC - I don't think squaddies had any new lines whatsoever in any of ME2's DLCs, so this is a major plus imo.

I haven't yet re-done the ending to see what new dialogue there is, but having seen the script snippets that were leaked a while ago it doesn't seem like there's too much thats new. As a self-contained DLC it was good. Not quite LotSB, but I'd rate it alongside Overlord and Kasumi, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just under £10 for ~3 hours of gameplay, with some replay value in that you'll have to play it twice with the same character (i.e. play it once then play it again taking that same character through NG+) to unlock the top levels of the new weapon mods, and to see different dialogue options, but you don't really make any choices so replay value is limited.

Still, well worth it imo. If this is the quality of all of ME3's forthcoming DLC then I'm very much looking forward to whatever Bioware brings out next. I don't really care if the impact on the endings is negligible as I have my own headcanon for the ending anyway, but as a self-contained story it was very enjoyable.

Story: 8
An intruiging main storyline, with some vibes of classic horror sci-fi at points. Some threads from earlier games get expanded on here. Plus, squaddies get dialogue.

Gameplay: 7
More variety than many of ME3's missions. A range of locations. Quite a strong focus on exploration and investigating in the style seen in the opening of LotSB. However, I didn't find the levels challenging at all. That was partly due to playing on normal with a level 60 character, but also partly because there weren't many prolonged action sequences and other than a pair of banshees at one point (at which point you have access to a heavy weapon anyway if you look around) there weren't any particularly challenging enemies. Unless you find brutes challenging.

Replayability: 6
You don't make any choices, so other than collecting the level 5 versions of the new mods there isn't much point replaying it except to get the ~500 or so war assets for other Shepards

Enjoyability: 7

Value for money: Yes
If you enjoyed DLCs like Overlord and Kasumi, and still enjoy playing ME3 despite knowing the endings, then absoluteley. If you really dislike playing ME3 because of the endings, then this does nothing to change that though. So overall, if you still like ME3 then yes.

I haven't played to end with new DLC so unknown. As for it changing my mind about my choice, no I will still pick Destroy. If anything it kind of reinforces it in a way, but for others it could be read as supporting Synthesis slightly. As for Control, it is difficult to go into without spoilers. Sorry can't give more definitive answer but in the end it depends on your view going into ME3, you can use it to support or oppose the various endings.

DLC does explain the whole cycle thing more clearly though so that helps.

EDIT: Chris2365, it depends who your LI is I guess. I only played it with Kaiden at moment and it does add some content - before Shepard goes into water and an added 'love about you' comment afterwards on Normandy stand out. As for others haven't done my Tali playthrough yet.

Yeah, I'm scared to even go to any other thread in this section. This thread should be moved back to No-Spoilers General Discussion

Summary: Play it, you won't regret it.

Easily hits the level of depth, atmosphere, and story that we all fell in love with in Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker.  The squad members all have full voice work done, much in the vein of Dragon Age 2 DLC, including dialogue between missions back on the Normandy.  The level of emotional depth is a bit shallow (for me at least) despite certain scenes attempting to tug at your heart strings, but I would recommend bringing your LI along for the ride on each of the missions, if only the final one, if emotion is what you're looking for.

Added:
War Assets
5 New Mods
2 Weapons (1 pre-order bonus & 1 pc exclusive pre-order bonus)
1 New Bonus Power
1 Fun New Cabin Decoration

Edit: Forgot to include the souvenier :D

this sound good but when you say emotional do you mean dark and depressing cos theres enogh of that already in ME3

I'm curious: What's this "fun cabin decoration"? I didn't notice any change in the cabin after finishing.
