So it seems then that the Leviathans were aquatic species? Man their spaceships must've been huge, assuming they operated/lived like what we percieve to be "normal" life.

How does this DLC discourage Destroy? I'm not getting it, maybe I'm stupid or something but I don't see a connection
Put two and two together: These giant squid things controlled the galaxy at one point. They are narcissitic self-preservationalists. With the Reapers out of the picture, the relays gone, and the galaxy exhausted and strained from fighting an ultimate war of survival, why wouldn't they try to take over again?
True, but aren't they technically still Reapers? I was thinking, especially since he said that the results of the Crucible are *unknown*, that they would still be destroyed in the actual Destroy ending. Thats just me, though

So in other words, the Reapers are killing everyone as a result of a billiion-year old, selfish science experiment gone awry. And I thought the Reapers could think for themselves?

Ask yourself this...Do the Leviathan even have the man power to do that? There very little of their race left. They also are way weaker then reapers.

Here is a video containing the last 20 minutes of the Leviathan DLC: www.youtube.com/watch
If you'd rather not watch it at the moment I'll tell you what happens.
After some exploration, Shepard meets the Leviathan. Leviathan reveals to Shepard that long before the Reapers were made, its race was the apex of life in the galaxy. Its race subjegated the lesser ones to suit their needs. Leviathan's race cared for the lesser species, but could not protect them from themselves. They eventually built machines that ended up destroying them, eliminating their usefulness to Leviathan's kind. To fix this, Leviathan's race created an intelligence to preserve life at any cost. This intelligence studied and learned about civilizations until it could form a solution. In that instance, it betrayed Leviathan's kind. They were harvested to create the first Reaper - Harbinger. Despite what has transpired, Leviathan still believes that [the Catalyst] is useful, as it still serves its purpose. However, not all of Leviathan's kind were harvested. Some were able to hide from the Reapers, seeking solace in the far reaches of the galaxy. Leviathan itself is only a descendant of those. In seclusion, the remnants of Leviathan's race used special artifacts to explore and observe the pending cycles.
Leviathan doesn't know anything about the Crucible. It refuses to help directly fight the Reapers, knowing that its kind will still survive through the cycles. Instead, it will use its artifacts to indoctrinate Reaper forces and turn them against eachother to cause chaos on the battlefield.
You get a whopping 400 EMS (and another 20 if the Doctor is still alive). I also believe you get one or two new weapons, some extra mods, a new ship decoration and a bonus power. Unfortunately, you won't see Leviathan in the final battle, there will just be a few extra lines of dialogue with the Catalyst.
Worth buying? Up to you to decide.
Sounds utterly atrocious. Is this another blatant attempt by them to stop people choosing destroy by saying even if you choose to live in freedom by destroying reapers and catalyst, the godlike leviathons who are responsible for the crazed AI could just do it again.

Leviathan Darth Bane was the initial survivor of the Harvest. Realizing his race couldn't defeat the Reapers head on, he reinvented the Leviathan Order by making himself disappear. The Reapers thought Leviathans to be extinct but little did they know that their former masters were hiding in the shadows, planning their millenia long quest for revenge and galactic domination.AresKeith wrote...

For eons, they would wait patiently, observing and spreading their little orbs. Hell they might've even come up with the Crucible, and each cycle subtlely prodding the "lesser species" as they called them to build it, encouraging them to adapt and improve its functions, just waiting for a cycle that would be successful in using it to wipe out the Reapers And only then would they emerge to retake their rightful place.
Once more, the Leviathans shall rule the galaxy! And... we shall have... peace.
Hint: That's probably the next DLCs. Only by sacrificing yourself out of compassion in the control room of the Death St- I mean Crucible, and throwing yourself down a long
May the "art" be with you.

I was delusional. I thought that Bioware were great story-tellers. Turns out theyre great at making shooters.
At least the Dark Knight Rises did justice to a popular trilogy.
Great at making mediocre shooters, maybe.
...Also DKR ****ed over Bane in the end (I loved the film, but just sayin'..)
Sounds like this DLC puts the final nail in the coffin for any IT believers out there though.

You should read my TDKR Blog. But anyway, "The Fire Rises."
However, not in the context that you think. With each speculation made, Caey Hudson's power level rises, and all Leviathan did was create a helluva lot of more speculation. Soon, he will be able to conquer all of Canada.
