Looking up seemed to work for me. You need to look up before you try to get down the ladder, and try to keep looking up. I ended up down the ladder (after multiple reloads, as well as reloading the mission from the start).

I just kept trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and eventually Shep went down the ladder. Ugh. (Immediately saved after that.)

I bought Leviathan for my brother and he's encountered the same glitch. He's taking a break right now, irritated after trying to get down the ladder and reloading multiple times. He'll try looking up and going down later, but he's had enough.

Going into the game m'self, going to see if I have the same issue.

For some reason, approaching it while walking backwards seemed to help me. Damn annoying glitch, they really need to fix it :/

EDIT: Tried to save/re-load a dozen time but no help there. 

Specs (in case they matter):

PC
Femshep
Have all DLCs bought and installed expect Firefight Pack. 
Lost connection to server while playing.

Same fertilizer here. Had it in Ashes DLC before. Characteristic of Bioware job, actually...

Edit: managed to get down while reloading after shooting my claymore. Took several tries. Looking up didn't work for me. Thanx for the advice, ppl!

Looking up never worked for me, but i fired a shot of my weapon (claymore shotgun) and never realoaded it and instantly got down (also lost all my shields straight after shooting). If anyone else can help me confirm this it would be great, I did it, and if someone else has then it means its another way to get down

Same here, but my squad mates go up and down the stairs just fine.

so i tried to look up, but it was hard, you have to keep pushing the mouse to point up, and then it worked. Thank´s for the advise, hope i don't find more glitches.

Mh, it's already happened to me in the regular campaign/maps fairly often. The best bet is to try the workaround(s) posted above - it's a lot faster than waiting for an official fix(which would be nice, but those take time).

OMG, DemonSaya, I shower you with interwebs kisses. I tried everything and even looking up only worked after the 2nd try, but it WORKED! This was soooooo frustrating and a major buzzkill. Now I can get back to the fun stuff! THANK YOU THANK YOU!
