on a hunch, I just did it by doing the "looking up" and the "go to menu" fixes at the same time, and that worked. However I found that doing one or the other alone did nothing, so...

Same here, "ESC" won't work, you can send the teammates down there but you're stuck!

You all need to try the whole looking up fix. Worked for me perfectly.

Sure, it took me 8 minutes of endlessly attempting different things and investigating this thread but I managed to do it when my friend said this:

"Look up when approaching the ladder."

i.e.

"When you're going towards the ladder, look upwards and continue to do so as Shepard begins the 'climbing down' animation."

I didn't end up doing the looking up method, but I was looking down and just kept reloading my save game over and over again until I ended up dropping down the ladder.

no,no, no, NOOOOOO! Lol! Made me forget my frustration about this bug.  The tip worked fine btw.

Ok,tried the look-up-while-doing-the-sliding-animation trick and it worked on a first try (after some rather frustrating minutes trying to get down a cursing whatever was in my sight, then googling for possible solutions:D ). Thank you for the tip, Gaiden233, live long and prosper

I tried every trick i could find on the net: to look up, the forward + esc trick, to look backwards when sliding, but nothing worked so far.
This kind of bugs are just annoying so please Bioware fix this!

I just had this glitch as well but the whole looking up thing didn't work at first. I had to do it five times before it finally worked. BioWare, please fix this.

I have this glitch since Extended Cut.
And to me it is a problem with Keyboard Arrow keys!

I ran into this glitch last night too. I tried the looking up trick, shooting the ladder then going, etc. Eventually I just started mashing WASD and Spacebar while frantically pulling the camera up and Femshep rolled off the edge of the ladder. Never actually climbed down, just rolled. Only took me 10 frustrating minutes or so, but I got there. If other fixes don't work, just try button mashing I guess.

Have the same problem too. After reloading and trying the "look up" trick several times, I finally made it down that ladder! Thanks for the help!

Ive had this issue with the prothean dlc as well as this one, my fix was to scroll down on the mouse ball to switch weapons right as i go down the ladder, and it ends up switching your weapon mid slide and you continue down the ladder. Takes multiple attempts to time it right but if you time it right, works 100% for me.

same here, it just glitch out when I reach the ladder.

Just in case it helps anyone else: I've discovered that looking *down* while approaching the ladder works for me. I don't get stuck at all. Looking up, for some odd reason, doesn't work for me. I still get stuck, spin around, then fall. But if I look down the whole time, I'm able to use the ladder properly.

Thank you! I tried the looking-up fix, but it didn't work until I read your post and attempted to replicate it 

I'm sad that it happened, though, I was totally immersed in the story up until that point... How unfortunate that it happens just as the Reapers are attacking and you're in a rush to get to Ann Bryson

Other than that, great DLC so far

Getting stuck on a roof broke the immersion for me too. I found that the looking up fix worked the first time for me but on my next run through it took ages. I didn't think it would be so hard look up the same way every time XD

I do hope this bug is something they will fix.

Hey folks, thanks for bringing this to our attention. For those that encountered the issue, were you all playing on PC? If so, were you running additional software in the background, including FRAPS?

No, im running origin, steam, mass effect and the various windows backround programs that are required such as avast and such.

Yes I was playing on PC (windows 7). I had no software running other than Origins on my first play through when I got stuck at the ladder. I've also played it twice more since with FRAPS running and the same error occurs.

I'm on PC (Windows 7) as well. I have only Fraps + Origin running in the background.
