Hi. Can I ask why I can't buy Bioware Points by PayPal. I need them to unlock Leviathan DLC. The option on Origin is greyed...

Same problem here. I keep getting the following error:

"An error occurred while processing your request. If you canceled your purchase at the third party payment website, this error is expected. Code: NU1010".

Try buying them from https://points.biowa...kout/showOffers (it's the site you land on if you click on the Profile -> Add BioWare Points in the menu on the left here) rather than in Origin. I had the same problem and after googling it, I saw several accounts of people buying points via Origin with PayPal and never receiving them, so I guess EA disabled that option. I ended up buying the points with my credit card, but then I checked the points.bioware.com site and the PayPal option seems to be at least not greyed out there (last time I checked; I don't know if it actually works, so no blaming me if it doesn't).

Yeah, I know that I can buy points like that. But you see, on Origin they are much cheaper.

At least in Europe (Germany), it's actually cheaper on the BioWare site. You pay 10€ for 800 points in Origin but just 8€ on BioWare site. And 1600 points costs the same (15€).

Strange... In Poland on Origin 1600 Bioware Points is for 59,90 PLN = 15 Euro, on Bioware site 72 PLN = 17,5 Euro...
If I can't buy from Origin via PayPal I'll buy it from second hand later.

Thanks for the hint with the Bioware profile. Another way to go.
Now if only there were no PayPal resulting in "General Error - An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later.".

That seemed to work just fine with my case, thanks for your help!

It works. I hope Bioware does not remove this option.

Thats propably why it is blocked until Bioware adjust to the same price origin charges.
Thru the game it says temporary unavailable servers busy or maintenance, try again later.

Used the tip thru profile add bioware point.  Thanks to whomever suggested it.

5€ less to pay is 33% wich is a lot of money if you ask me!!

I've never been able to buy in origin with paypal. 4 months ago I reported a ticket to ea support, without result. New Ticket 4 weeks ago and still no answer or solution.

without comment, well yes, we are left with the desire to play, they do not earn our money

Can't buy Bioware points on BSN or Origins with PayPal...
EA tech support told me to use a credit card, which as a (I'd like to think) responsible student I don't have one.
Tried from 3 different computers with no luck and the same 'general error'
EA support's response: 'your PayPal must be broken'....too bad I used it earlier today between attempts to buy points -.-
At this point I'm going to end up having the DLC spoiled for me anyway /shrug. I guess there's always YouTube :(

You can buy everything else by PayPal on Origin, but not Bioware Points. What they are up to?

Same in Belgium. I assume this applies to the euro zone.

It actually used to be even cheaper on BSN because they did the proper dollar to euro conversion. I'm glad they don't charge €10, but €8 is still more than $10.

I think they don't accept PayPal for point cards and new games.

If they don't use Paypal for DLC and new games - It should be mentioned. Same issue here, get an error message" An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later." or "the servers are too busy"

No issues using Paypal with Steam so it isn't my account.

Considering the amount of threads on the issue I find it bizarre the problem still persists but it is a testament to EA's incompetence with Origin in general.

That was my experience with EA too. The responses I got were basically to do a lot of buck passing.

1. My paypal account must be messed up. (It works fine on GOG, Steam and Ebay)

2. EA's servers might be glitching because of the recent Madden NFL release. Same explanation for the Mass3 online kicks, apparently EA's too cheap to spring for dedicated servers. We're sharing server time with players of other games, and right now, Madden players are sucking up all the bandwidth.

That was his second guess. However, apparently they had no record of any complaints other than mine. So, feel free to contact EA's tech support and express your frustrations so that they can't say mine is the only complaint anymore.
