Recent discussions across various threads speculate how we may have to give up or do without certain elements in the game that some players are clamoring for due to resource allocation, time frame or what-not.
I was curious what people would put the most value on - what *you* would most want to see included and be willing to give up other aspects to get. (hope that made sense?)
A poll for your feedback:

I hope they focus on story, its pretty much the reason I play Dragon Age.
I can give up combat. Even if they do combat well, the way combat works is something I don't enjoy.

I Agree with Michael. I love the story. It's why I play. Do what ever you want with the other things, just give me a good story ♥ (though Combat is fun, too)

Don't make MP and use those resources for SP.
MP is just lame in my eyes anyway.

so far we're at about 50 responses -
Based on the options that were provided, 3 items are in a strong lead:
A longer and/or more in depth story
Ability to choose race
Origins based on class and/or race
My top choice was race then origins as well, the origins provide backstory that involves the player and a deeper understanding to build on/twist for the PCs motivation. Multiple dfferent starting points to a larger picture also provide more opportunity for varied playthroughs. IMO of course.
(oh and I agree about MP)
Hopefully twice as many people answer the poll, it would be interesting to see if the results stay steady.

Look at you, makin' polls an everything.
Ok, so I said "other". Even though I liked many of that which was listed (good job, by the way!), my favorite thing has always been the characters. Really good character stories for all companions, LI's, and important NPC's, is what draws me in (personally). I love good main plots, customization (CC and builds alike), interesting quests, good and varied gameplay, and of course.....I love origins and race/class introductions. But in the end, it is the characters I get the most attached to, find the most interest in, AND keep me the most riveted.
So there it is......now can't we just have all of it?!?!? Please.....(I asked nicely..

You know if they would go back to or were allowed to have a realistic Dev cycle there would not be so much sacrifices 1-2 hell even 3 years is not enough for a AAA game, go back to a 5 year Dev time.

Agreed on the long development, hopefully BioWare will be given enough time to make "The Next Thing" amazing and epic.
A few more votes came in and 'longer/deeper story' and 'race' (with/without origins) are still tied for 1st.
Thank you to everyone who participated! Poll is still open if anyone else wants to vote. There were some really great comments made as well.

Wow. No love for sub-companions in that poll above
I wouldn't mind sacrifices, but only if this was the last game - and so long as none of my comps do it
