I have been banging on about dominate not being in Mass Effect 3 for months.

And now it's back! I can't wait to get Leviathan DLC (No spoilers please!).

Just imagine the possibilities.

Soldier + Dominate = Our Power Is Unmatched
Sentinel + Dominate = Face your annihilation
Adept + Dominate = I Will Show You True Power
Engineer + Dominate = You Cannot Resist
Vanguard + Dominate = This Hurts You
Infiltrator + Dominate = Assuming Direct Control


Thank you for incorporating this feature.
This was my favourite bonus power. No scrap that. My favourite power full stop and it's back.

I have not downloaded the DLC yet, so I cannot say how good Dominate is, but my Puppet Master Engineer is about ready to rock. She just has to wait her turn unless I get impatient.

Will I be using energy drain for the adept?

Lol dominate is going to be ridiculous in me3 since trash enemies don't have shields.

I'm guessing we can control any organic with health........including phantoms

Banshee's are immune saddly. However, seeing a phantom kill kai leng was funny.

That's sad to hear considering the other two of the "big three" are effected just fine by Sabotage.

I'm loving Dominate. I thought I'd just try it out on my Infiltrator for one mission and then go back to Defense Matrix or Marksman, but being able to completely control any combat situation by wreaking havoc is just too much to pass up.

Brute boxing matches, check. Phantom sword sprees, check. Friendly Ravager artillery strikes, check.

No. Both infiltrators and engineers both have Sabotage.

I would say Leviathan is worth it without even thinking about Dominate. That does make it "more worth it" I suppose.

Haven't used it myself yet. We will see.

I read a really negative review about Leviathan.

Reviewer: Doesn't really reveal anything new about the Reapers.
Myself: Okay. Wasn't really expecting any major revalations. The whole secret behind the reapers was explained in the controversial endings. I can live with that.
Reviewer: Your choices make very little impact on the overall story.
Myself: Then play Witcher 2. Mass Effect never really delivered on that.
Reviewer: Doesn't have much exploration.
Myself: Then play Elderscrolls or Fallout Series. Mass Effect did a poor job of exploration in Mass Effect 1 anyway.
Reviewer: There is no new gameplay. Just more of the same with a couple of new environments.
Myself: So let me get this straight. Some new environments. More of the same awesome fights against the greatest faction in the Mass Effect series (the Reapers) and another opportunity to use my biotic and tech powers to kick some butt? How on Earth is that not awesome! I WANT THIS DLC!
Reviewer: Oh and there is this bonus power that was ditched in Mass Effect 3 because developers thought it was stupid. Dominate.
Myself: Leviathan has Domiante? I'm sold.
Reviewer: But it's rubbish and a waste of your time and money.
Myself: Don't care. Dominate + more of the same gameplay in a new setting.
Reviewer: But it doesn't change the horrible endings.
Myself: But I loved the shiny, extended cut endings. I chose synthesis and I have never felt more alive. Now give me dominate, some more reapers and a psudo mystery so I can shoot banshees and brutes on a sinking ship!
Reviewer: Which is an accurate metaphor for the Mass Effect series. I hope you shoot yourself with those new weapons.
Myself: There's new weapons too? Okay. Can't say no to that. I MUST DOMINATE EVERYTHING!!!!
Reviewer: I give up. You're an idiot.

Dominate is a fun little power, although it sometimes has the same problem as the Combat Drone, namely your indoctrinated little friend will sometimes stand around doing nothing because enemies are just outside his awareness zone, or he cannot see through Centurian smoke. It works pretty well though. I tried to record some video, but I kept getting killed, usually by a grenade that I ran into.

Ha, well technically everyone already had them because they were on the game disk, but now you don't have to use a save editor to unlock them if you didn't have a preorder code...

Dominate rank 1:
Recharge Speed: 12s (before recharge is calculated. I had it at about 4.8s with +175% to +150% weapon weight)
Duration: 10s

Rank 2:
Recharge Speed: Increase Recharge speed by 25% (About 4.8s to 4.35s)

Rank 3:
Duration: Increase Duration by 30% (from 10s to 13s)

Rank 4:
Recharge Speed: Increase Recharge Speed by 30% (from 4.35s to 3.9s)
Duration: Increase Duration by 40% (from 13s to 17s)

Rank 5:
Damage: Inflict massive damage on the target, doing 50 points of damage per second.
Frenzy: While under the effect of the power, the target does 40% more weapon damage.

Rank 6:
Vulnerability: The target takes 30% more damage from all sources.
Rage: While under the effect of the power, the target does 60% more weapon damage and takes 50% less damage.


I tried it on an Engineer. I took Duration-Fury-Rage, and I used Dominate-Sabotage-Cryo Blast.

The biggest problem with Dominate, at least on an Engineer, is that you are more effective spending points in Sabotage-Overload-Incinerate and tech-bursting everything to death. And as I mentioned before. Sometimes the controlled enemy does nothing except stand there even though his buddies are right behind him shooting at you.

Also, since I took Rage, it took longer to kill the guy if he was the last one standing. I only had a Katana V.
