I will note, by the way, that a BioWare community manager has been active on Twitter today restating that there will be no DLC which will show Shepard after the ending scenes that have already been released. Until the compelling economics--which I believe will ultimately cause a reversal of this decision--are felt, don't expect BioWare to acquiesce. It won't, at least in the short term.

I believe the value of the ME IP has been seriously eroded, however. Someone will address that eventually, but it won't happen soon, I sadly predict.

This really saddens me. Mass Effect is over. :( I've moved on. I'm looking forward to Borderlands 2.

Yes it is time to put a bullet in the radiator of this heap of junk and put it out of its misery. I give up. ME3 is over. It is a completely lost cause. Bioware can headcanon my money for the remaining DLC and for DA3 as well unless it is absolutely outstanding by user reviews. There are other companies out there who care a lot more about their customer base.

The Mass Effect series ends with Mass Effect 2. ME3 will get traded in for Borderlands 2 while it is still worth more than $5.

Ah yes another TAO thread, where she presents all of her Headcannon as fact and somehow expects us to argue with it.

It has spawned enough discussion to make one suspect her expectations were right :innocent:

TAO can shoot projectiles out of her head, or owns a cannon that shoots heads as ammunition?  I'm confused what you are trying to get at here....

If they could control the "lesser" species. Couldn't they just stop them from building the dangerous AI?

Lol don't try and get them explain that in another DLC. BW's attempts to explain their logic has dug them until an unescapeable hole.

Someone just needs to take the pen away from a few people who we shall not name who think they are artists.

I heard Pat Weekes actually wrote Leviathan, along with some other dude. That news pretty much makes me lose all faith in BW because I thought Weekes was the hero this company deserved, but clearly not the one it needed right now.

Ugh... I mean he could've made the fall of the Leviathans believable if they didn't have "Mental pwning" powers over the Reapers... but no.

The Leviathans attempted to control the galaxy with their powers, but they got blindsided by their own AI after their followers destroyed each other by building synthetic life.

It is basically this; they enthrall a species, species creates robots to help them, robots rebelled and kill species, Leviathan can only enthrall organic life, so they create an AI to deal with the problem. Problem solved by harvesting, Leviathan's blindsided and nearly wiped out, go into survival mode.

If anything, it shows that the synthetic/organic mix of the Reapers is a weakness in the end to this enthrallment power, and that these guys are just as dangerous as the reapers...

seemed like soverreign had no problems controling the geth
and the leviathans indoc powers does seem stronger than the reapers considering how fast they could tap into sheps brain.

so i dont see your arguments as beeing valid, only as beeing.. well not true or inconsistant with the presented events in the DLC.

did i miss something about there powers?, i did just youtube it cus i knew it was going to be a joke.

The only reason it seemed more powerful was due to the connection to those spheres. They did say that augmented the range of the enthrallment. Plus it seems that Leviathan can use it at will, meaning they can pick and choose who they want to enthrall, how fast, how slow, and so forth. God powers, basically.  As for Shepard, it seemed like it was proximity for him, which is how the reapers work as well.

And Soverign controlled the Geth by bargaining with them, not by indoctrination. That is if Legion is to be believed. He only indoctrinated Benezia and Saren.

I don't know, I mean it does seem kind of foolish they would make a machine to solve a problem, but hubris often causes calamity.

Well, if you take the fact that Patrick Weekes was the main writer for the Leviathan DLC, and combine that with that whole Penny Arcade ME3 controversy, you could really squint and look at the DLC as an attempt at a very veiled meta-critism of the original ending...

Hey if people really didn't like the game they wouldn't still be here after all this time. People are just constantly whining because ME didn't live up to their own personal wish fulfillment. Thing is everyone is going yeah, right ME is crap but if one of their wishes where fulfilled the other would be whining at them. It's time to just drop our own pretentious expectations and just enjoy the game for what it IS instead of what we wish it is.If you think it just isn't worth the money simple .. don't buy it.

Let me explain your logic:

Here is an idea, if you don´t like that idea, keep it to yourself, tell no one or act like you liked it.

Why are you posting in this thread again?

ME3 is a last game of trilogy. People are here because they like the trilogy. ME3 did not live up, by far actually, to expectations and narrative of previous games in trilogy.Lots and lots of people preordered the game before knowing what it will be, based on level of preceding games of trilogy.
Hope you understand it now better.  Key word - trilogy.
Here, it will help:

It's not a psychopath. It was programmed to "preserve organic life at all costs."

I don't get how "at all costs" gets by people. He did exactly what he was programmed to do, the Leviathan itself admits to such. It's STILL performing it's original duty. What they forgot was to specify that "at all cost" wasn't meant to be "turn us into the solution".

It gets by people who's only goal is to find fault.
