I just hope that many of the Leviathans died from their minds being blown by their sheer stupidity coming back to get them. If anything, the whole bit about them being betrayed by the Catalyst basically confirms the accuracy of the "Yo Dawg!" meme that was going around in March.

Actually now it's more like:

Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised that TAO doesn't like Leviathan. I would imagine that it never had a chance with her. Still, interesting read.

All choices except refuse require you to trust the Catalyst and what it says. Period.

That's a strawman. Knowing that the Catalyst is a rogue AI doesn't mean he's lying about what the choices do. The Catalyst believes all the choices are solutions, so there really isn't a reason why he would lie about the functionality of the Crucible.

This is a silly argument, really..

This is of course assuming that it's telling the truth about that too.
Even though that part of it is, you don't know that without metagaming. Shepard has no reason to believe it and less reason to with Leviathan.

What choice does Shepard really have? The Catalyst doesn't NEED to trick Shepard in order to defeat the current cycle. Hell he could have left him to bleed out.

It's mutually beneficial for the Catalyst to let Shepard use the Crucible because it gets a new solution.

The whole first lab visit was awesome.

It was. It made me feel like I was in an episode of CSI or some other crime scene show I've never seen.

Leviathans controls thralls minds.

Thralls builds machines.
Leviathans "hey stop that".
Thralls "OK".

The end.

Who's to say that peace and preservation are mutually exclusive options? Maybe the Catalyst tried peace to begin with (after all, when faced with someone who doesn't like you, trying to talk them down is usually the first thing to come to mind), only when that didn't work, extreme measures were necessary.

They are not. Re-read what I said. My point was, the Catalyst didn't say it was made for preservation and tried peace. It said it was made for peace, then tried preservation.
Hence the contradiction.

Remember, the "peace" explanation was added in the EC. So they had "designed to preserve" in the original, retconned it to "designed for peace" in the EC, then backpedaled to "designed to preserve" again while keeping the EC dialogue, resulting in a total mess.

"Our creators are top lazy to control you and stop you from building AI so could you stop please.....?"
"we cool....?"
"No, ok I could indocrinate you not to do it aswell but no lets "preserve you" ."

How wonderfully constructive and mature of you... So you disagree with the Angry one... so you insult her.

Here is a friendly advice... why don't you advocate for the banning of everyone who disagrees with you? Surely not having us around would make your day brighter!

That's how it would've been if they were logical. Clearly they not only wanted the servitude of organics, they wanted that of the machines too. I guess they didn't think the fact that each time the 'lesser' races made machines they ended up destroying them applied to them, the Apex of life..

SHHHhhhh. Maybe the whole story is an indocrtinated dream in the mind of one of these thrawl races to scare them into not creating AI? Sparing the Leviathians the need of having to pay attention.

Also we're given no indication that the Leviathan's control was absolute.  Remember, the Protheans have a policy:  "if you don't like our rule, try and stop us."  The Leviathans had a clear edge of superiority, and believed themself the apex of creation.  When you're THAT full of yourself, you're likely not going to notice the little people trying to rise up against you.

If they can control Reapers, why didn't they go to the crucible in the 50000 year gap and destroy the AI intelligence or just CONTROL IT?, ITS UNDEFENDED!!!

No, why the fxxk can't they do that now, let alone build more artifacts given how powerful and intelligent they are? ZOMG. They freaking created the Catalyst, but they can't deactivate it now, or atleast tell Shepard how? Those are my biggest questions.
