who else thinks they should release ME1 for PS3?

I much prefer my PS3 and i think they should release ME 1 for that console! Who else thinks so? I know they probably wont but one can wish.

Lots as it's pretty sucky for there to be two thirds of a trilogy for a platform. It's like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars would be if the first installment was only ever done in a language you can't speak. Still almost certainly never going to happen though.robynhode wrote...

Not sure it's "owning the rights" as such ...(speculation coming ;-) )... BioWare made the game and EA own BioWare - coincidentally bought BioWare just before ME1 was released - so the rights would ultimately belong to EA. However, from what I've read here when this topic comes up, Mass Effect was an XBox 360 exclusive. If so Microsoft probably has a contract tucked away in a drawer in it's legal department containing a promise from BioWare that Mass Effect will only ever be made available for Microsoft's console unless Microsoft agrees beforehand. Which is why a PS3 port is no more likely than a Mac OS X port. A PC version probably wasn't a a big deal because it still means running on a Microsoft product, i.e. Windows, but how likely is it that Microsoft agree to let EA/BioWare out of that contractual agreement so that the game could be ported to the XBox 360's main competitor? If they went ahead and did it anyway EA/BioWare would be in breach of contract and Microsoft may be in a legal position to make that expensive for them. Yes, it's a five year old game and so no, nobody should really give a **** about exclusivity anymore. But with ME3 out this year attracting new fans to the franchise it's probably still helping sell some XBox copies.
Maybe Microsoft would stop caring and agree to it in a few years once everyone's over Mass Effect games altogether, but that would also mean that anyone porting it to PS3 would see it as a loss maker and probably not bother. So Bob Hope and no hope, basically.
