Too bad for her then. I'm shooting the pipe.

No, lots of squadmates are smarter, like Tali, Javik, and Liara.

But seriously, she's still nowhere near as bad as Liara.

I don't care if you're being sarcastic. EDI and Liara are not comparable.

Liara is Shadow Broker and archeologist, so she will be better. Tali knows lots of tech and can hack and gather data. Javik knows far more about fighting Reapers.

I wasn't aware EDI was a forced friendship through two games, had a giant DLC devoted to her, and was the lead protagonist for half the third game.

She is featured so much in this Leviathan DLC. You are forced to be her friend in Mass Effect 3 no matter what.

No more than you're forced to be anyone else's friend in ME3. Garrus, Tali, Liara.......

Traynor is better with info than Liara. Tali and Liara can't scan the extranet in seconds like EDI. Javik is just a soldier.

To be truthful, I kind of suspect the only reason it's EDI is because they thought better of thrusting Liara upon us yet again (probably the original proposal had Liara in the role of lab assistant).Comsky159 wrote...

The only other two squadmates who are guaranteed to be around are EDI and James, and what do you know, both of them get trotted out in this one.
I'm kind of glad they used EDI, though. Now I feel better about never taking her on missions. In the vanilla game, she never really felt like a squadmate, because I hardly ever saw her. ;-)
I'm still not picking synthesis, though.

EDI don't have to be with me in the room. Tali and Liara can do the job just as well. Maybe better. She is forced on you.

She does so she can examine the artifacts. Neither Tali nor Liara are good with reaper stuff.

Why does it have to be her and not better squadmates and characters like Tali, Liara, and Javik? It's forced.
