EDI is the writer's pet. Look at this Leviathan DLC. It's pretty obvious EDI is realy forced on you from the very beginning. I don't get why she has to be with me in Bryson's room. It's so unnecessary. Liara is Shadow Broker and archeologist, so she will be better. Tali knows lots of tech and can hack and gather data. People sometimes say Liara is the writer's pet. I don't think so. EDI is forced on you far more than Liara. All the stupid questions about being human, Illusive Man base, and Leviathan. I hate how she is protected by the plot. She is more unkillable than any squadmate.

The only other two squadmates who are guaranteed to be around are EDI and James, and what do you know, both of them get trotted out in this one.
I'm kind of glad they used EDI, though. Now I feel better about never taking her on missions. In the vanilla game, she never really felt like a squadmate, because I hardly ever saw her. ;-)
I'm still not picking synthesis, though.
