I have never been able to persuade Ser Bryant in Lothering to hire me on for some work (I'm not sure exactly how the text reads, but I remember it being the lone persuade option in the conversation) after telling him I drove off the bandits.
I was wondering if anyone here has successfully persuaded him, and if so, does he give you an additional quest perhaps?

From what I remember he does not hire you on. He can be persuaded to give you assistance in the form of a key to some extra loot you otherwise won't have acess to. He might toss you some coin also. I can't remember haven't played the begining of the game in a while.
