I was playing ME last night and I was thinking that my female shepard is very slight. I feel as thought she needs a bit more muscle; not a huge amount like male shep, and all six of his chests, but like the build of a female athlete maybe? I'm thinking along the lines of Jessica Ennis or someone. It would just make it more believable when she's turning bad guys inside out. What do you guys think?

I hear you. Why can't femshep be more like this:

Posted Image

Give her some muscle for God's sake and quit screwing around with the girly girls BioWare. In fact, hit her with some testosterone as well. You can't build muscle mass with estrogen.

Dunno, maybe I love femshep because she's so lithe. She's exactly what a soldier should be, fit. I guess her BMR is less than 5%, which is actually a bit dangerous...

But there's also the epicness of a petite woman who also isn't exactly a supermodel in the looker-department, pwning everybody and everything. The girl next door saves the galaxy. How epic can you get?

I'm sorry, even though the shine in her hair gives her health away, I can't help but thinking that this woman has a disorder. There's nothing there remotely erotic. I have much the same feeling looking at that picture as I get when looking at supermodels; a big fat MEH. Female bodybuilders who go for natural top stay women. Whatever the being in that picture is, she has stopped being a woman a long time ago.

She's always been the go-to person when it comes to the 'ideal FemShep physique' debate, so have some Gina Carano...

I didn't even know that there was a debate... But yeah I think she's more along the right lines, smaller arms maybe. I realise it's kind of a moot point as physique isn't always indicative of strength or power, just thought it was an interesting point. Come to think of it though that girl( the one in the picture you posted) is pretty much the female version of default male shep's body

Yeah, there's totally nothing wrong with that attitude.

I agree that she should be a little bigger. Gina Carano has the ideal physique for FemShep IMO. Whilst having thin arms definitely isn't indicative of lack of strength, I think FemShep's arms are a little too thin.

Just my opinion.

The plain-clothed female body models in Mass Effect are like supermodels - way too thin.

In body armor, at least they look like they have some muscle on them (and could actually carry that automatic rifle).

I sorta agree, she looks a little weak to be knocking around who she does and carring people on her back, but it is no biggie...maybe all the implants give her strength. I do sorta think Ronda Rousey is about right or looking strong enough anyway.

Just calling it like I see it. I don't buy in to that politically correct crap where you have to lie and dance around people's feelings out of fear you may say something some random fokker might have a problem with.

I don't know you, therefore I couldn't care less about your feelings. Deal with it.

On topic, I don't have a problem with the martial artist, though I still think that sheppie's phisyque is right for a gun-toter. Small, light and quick on her feet. What's the word for it... argile?

I have seen a lot of female soldiers most of the look like Gina Carano or the blonde above. Those who looked like sheppard were only fighting against paper, never in the field.

You do realize female soldiers today don't look like the first picture or even Gina Carano. They run the spectrum of body types and physical looks. Not only that, its a game set in the future, were the armor probably does a lot of the heavy lifting.

She looks like a pear. The top half and bottom half of her body don't match.

People keep mentioning that people come in all shapes and sizes - which is completely true. They also mention that the armor probably enhances Shep's strength a lot, which is also a valid point.

But it doesn't change the fact that MaleShep is given a muscular build, while FemShep is far from the female equivalent of the same build. If people want to argue that FemShep's build is fine, then surely they'd be okay with a much thinner MaleShep too?

It's like the leather dress vs. leather jacket thing - no one's saying FemShep shouldn't have that dress, but the fact that it's treated as the 'female version' of the jacket outfit is just stupid.

Actually that's part that some women have that shape. The other part is that FemShep is not supposed to be seen at that angle in that clothing, so it becomes exagturated.

In utero gene therapy, Alliance standard combat gene therapy and technology advancements likely make female Shepard a capably strong combatant with that body shape. The reason male Shepard and other male Alliance members are so much more muscular is because they choose to work out and achieve that body shape even if it isn't necessarily required.

That only leaves fat chicks. Are you a chubby chaser, per chance?

OT: Half the reasonn I don't play with FemShep is that she just looks tiny. It's just not realistic, she has no muscles at all. I'm not saying she has to look like that awful pic, but like some others have posted, female MMA fighters are fit without being too "manly", yet don't look frail either.
