If femshep looked like this I think she would be more believable. They made her upper body too thin and her legs too large, she doesn't look fit unless she's wearing armor.

Femshep's body shape is normal for a regular woman. The most women are pear shaped. But from Special Tactics officer, the best N7 trainee and Spectre, one would expect more evolved upper body. She looks like a woman who have never had any physical activity. I don't mind it though, it's nothing major.

Also - blame stupid engine, neither male or female ME3 models have realistic and well done arms and hands. Few other parts (eg eyes) are also...problematic, but arms are worst of it. Kaidan Alenko, the human biotic, looks like he spent last 3 years working on a coal mine. FemShep (same as any other in-game female) has tiny arms that would be fine for random housewife. No one asks her to look like that photoshop lady from first page. But her body model is just poor.

And you may add to this using broshep male animation. But that's another story.

Yeah, she's not a bodybuilder, not gonna argue about that. But a soldier of her stature and skill simply gotta be more muscular. And I'm not just babbling without having any idea of what people who fight look like, I see the effects training had on me and most of the women I trained with.

She doesn't look like she could lift copy paper, let alone a heavy weapon. It might even be acceptable for sentinels and adepts, but seeing my renedouche skullcrushing vanguard have the body of a sedentary teen was just weird.

 My problem with FemShep is more to do with how she moves compared to how she looks, it feels that BioWare only used a single animation model for both FemShep and Sheploo.  Having two sets of skeletal animations would fix a lot of the issues I have with the gender difference and might even make the body proportions seem not as jarring either, for anybody I have seen that tries to mimic the movements a different bodytype it doesn't look right.  To me one of the more glaring instances of this is when Liara comes to your cabin to talk.  Both Femshep and Sheploo move exactly the same in that scene.

You never knew that? They move same through the series. Yes, she runs and walks as if she has... some extra parts. And sits like a man. And shares clothes through the series (and don't remind me about "That Dress"). Because Sheploo is their "icon", everything was done for him, and femShep is just a "side-effect", which does not even have same face through 3 games...Surprise?

I'm all for Gina Carano. FemShep may have implants in ME2 and 3 but she was a war vet even at the very beginning of the first Mass Effect. You do not survive a battle with the body of an America's Next Top Model candidate.

totally agree. even working out a little will change your body's physique. femshep's way too skinny to be an N7 soldier and spectre. it was weird when she sparred with james =/ but okaayyyyyy

Depends on the actual thickness you're trying to compare to. A fat chick with thighs the thickness of her waist...yeah, that's a bit unsexy. An athletic chick with thick thighs, now that's a different story.

Of course, it's all subjective anyway. Everyone prefers different body types.

FemShep's physique is one of the reasons I tend to only play female characters in games with full body customization options. Like Skyrim or Saint's Row 3. I can tweak them how I like, and don't have to "settle" for whatever the designers are trying to offer.

Sorry but no.  Its not normal to look anorexic above the waist but suddenly normal once you reach the thighs.  Especially for somebody who should be as physically fit as Shep, full body fit not just hittin that tredmill every day.  Maybe if you've given birth a dozen times and have an eating disorder, don't think thats her MO.    Her body portions are out of wack, thats all there is to it.  Its a pretty common mistake in video games, though usally with ****** big enough to break your back.

She needs much more muscle, she looks way too girlish. The only people who should stay girlish are biotics like Liara and people like Tali. Racist Ashley also needs more muscle.
